I’ve spent time with Jehovahs Witnesses and I’ve always been able to ask questions they admit they can’t answer. I wasn’t even trying to do that on purpose which is the weird thing. I read a lot so I’ve read about a lot of people and situations that made me wonder how it worked in terms of religion. Take sociopaths for instance: they have no conscience and can’t give or receive love. But since they were born that way what does that mean? Did God create them that way which would mean he creates bad people just to punish them for what they can’t help?

Hey DarkMatter2525 I don't comment here at all and you probably won't see this anyway but I wanted to share this. I came across your channel when I started to really debate myself about religion, I'm an agnostic so I always wondered about what God, gods, etc really want if one even exists. I began to have an existential crisis and researching and debating with people. When I came across one of your videos titled "The Greater Insult" I felt more reassured about not being a Christian. When I recently started looking more into your videos I felt more cared about you than any other Christian or theist video I've come across. You opened my eyes and I am grateful that you help people and truly show morality.

And considering these are probably the two biggest religious founders of the last couple of centuries, I have to ask... did any of the historical founders of religions believe? Did Muhammad? Did Saint Paul? When we look at the evidence we have of them today, it's easy to say "yes, they believed it", but what evidence will we have of Joseph Smith in 1500/2000 years?

It was a hilarious dumpster fire but I feel bad for the guy because I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm a "science bully," whatever that is, and I used to belong to the same exact cult he's in. It was like through a window into a crazy alternate timeline where I never got to go to public school. I was trying to reach the guy with him compassion and just asking and answering direct questions. No one has authority over you in matters of the soul or its nonexistence. If pressured by the religious, demand evidence. You might enjoy Dan Maclellan, a biblical scholar. He explains that (and why!) every Christian must negotiate with the text of the Bible to make it fit their identity. He explains away the authority of the Bible by pointing out dogmatic errors by Christian apologists and points out that it was written and translated by different authors for different audiences and that you must negotiate with the text to apply it today. What that tells me is that you can use it as effectively for spiritual guidance as you could Confucius, the I Ching, Tarot cards or any other system of divination. None of his videos have compelled me to faith or turned me from the idea that divinity might be real, but it stopped me thinking that Bible verses were the same as facts.

It's a perfect pyramid scheme. With an ordinary pyramid scheme you will buy an actual product, which absent any eternal input will still leave you able to figure out the product is not good and that you will never be able to retrieve the money or time you spent in the pyramid scheme; but you will then know to cut your losses and never look back. With the divine pyramid scheme, you can never inspect the product; so for as long you believe there is a product to begin with, you're simply cooked.

Believing in the "confidence man" isn't just a religion thing. The boss interviewing keeps hiring confident applicants and if always shocked that they can not actually do what they said. So they go through the process again and again, hiring on that confidence and getting the same result, "obvious it is that the applicants are terrible".. The lady likes how confident the man is, but they keep turning out to be violent bullies, so all men are violent bullies. Agreed, confidence is a sign of a dud.

20 years ago i learned the most painful lesson in my life. An extremely Confident relater who marketed himself as a wholesome, Christian, honest, family man sold me some land in florida. He said this was a cant miss deal and in 5 years my land would double its value minimum. Well in five years later, the land had lost 90% of its value. The land never recovered its value and I suffered a massive loss. Now, the more confident and arrogant someone speaks to me the less I listen. I have also learned to smell a con artist all the way from here to Mar-a-largo. The stench is unmistakable and atrocious.

Hold your horses again! You are making sense only up to the point where I appear. If you want to make sense now, you have to deal with me, my name and Revelation. There is no other way. Your problem as an atheist, is not that you can recognize wrong answers, it’s that you only believe a false Christ can appear, a delusional man, no Christ is possible. There are three arrivals in Christ’s story: he is born, then he has to grow up and have the Revelation, that leads to his enlightenment, the release, that is when he becomes awake in the world as Christ. This is in Jesus story, the river of Jordan. You heard the story before. Now listen to someone who actually understands it! The Christ is like a loaded cross-bow. Go stand over there! If I pull the trigger, are you sure it’s going to hurt is based on belief? You are only making sense up to this point. Listen you zombies! Swarming horde of infidels! This is what we are debating. You all believe the crossbow is belief. I say you are imbeciles! Here is how! This is a story, and the story is written by the truth, the truth has certain attributes, it has a mechanism, it performs a function. Like if I pull the trigger, it will hurt. The man-made cross-bow it can break, it can fail, but schematics of it don’t fail. And the truth in the real world, it can lose a battle, but it wins all wars! Jesus in the river Jordan, is like a loaded cross-bow, shooting straight to God. She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne. See this prophecy? If true, this arrow cannot be stopped. And the iron rod is not me hitting you in the head with and actual iron rod. It’s the truth that hits you! That thing which neither man nor god can change. That is what rules and what the Word of God is. The cross-bow in the story is created by two dynamics, his insights from God, and the social power, pushing back; ‘You are delusional.’ These two things pushing against each other. Where both cannot be true, one has to give way to the other. When that happens, the arrow is released. This is not a cartoon! The moment of enlightenment, the release, is not a conscious act. The Christ is a loaded cross-bow, and the subconscious from a single signal makes the calculation and pulls the trigger. Releasing the Christ. This is the moment he becomes awake as Christ in the world. Then there is when other people arrive, ‘who do you say I am?’ ‘You are the Christ.’ Jesus doesn’t explain how they know it’s him. But he does leave everyone with the keys to understand that he knows. ‘What is bound on earth, is bound in heaven, what is loosened on earth is loosened in heaven.’ Only the actual Christ would speak like that. But like they also say, ‘it takes one to know one.’ Look at the clock again, blue and red, true and false. Beginning - Jesus Christ - end / rider’s new name. They are the same thing, this timeline and the clock. Take a powerful rubber band around the beginning and stretch it all the way back with your horses, around his new name. What happens when red 11 comes up to blue 11, and they try to open what the rider close, by reducing him to belief or delusion. And the arrow is pointed straight between my eyes on the opposite side? What is true for the tree of life? ‘If it takes it gives, if it gives it takes.’ You cannot pull this trigger in reality. Cartoon Jeffery can. But then again, his gun is not pointed to actual God, but cartoon god, a parody of God. Have you all forgotten? What happens when blue 1 comes up to red 1, and they try to exclude that he is Christ, by reducing him to belief or delusion? And the arrow is now pointed the other way, right between your eyes? Can belief close the door the truth opens? No. Can belief open the door the truth closes? No Can the truth close the door belief opens? Yes. Can the truth open the door belief closes? Yes. Who am I that opens so no one can close and close so no one can open, belief or the truth? What happens when the truth opens so no one can close? Your brain is splattered all over the wall. These are the mechanisms, they are not the same as belief! Go find a dictionary! And take your brains with you! Everything you base your understanding on, is before I arrive! Wake up! We live in two different worlds before and after! And if you do not acknowledge it, you will only add up to fools! When they killed Christ, even if the truth is there, they don’t care. We share the same concern, you see the same problems in the world, but an atheist has no room for a true testimony from Christ. That means, he shows up, he can only be guilty, never innocent. You pull the trigger in your ignorance, having reduced him to the world’s biggest idiot. And the consequence is a disaster. When I open so no one can close, you who get hit, your brains on the wall, it was your own stupidity that placed you in your position. See the difference? One is wise, the other is a fool!

I know of anton through friends and I've read the his book out of curiosity and found it entertaining I'm certainly not a believer in his church but I've not been able to find a credible source for this statement. But the people in the comments just ate that up, totally believing that this horrible man found God in the last few seconds of life. How beautiful. But most religious people that I know that seem to believe this without hesitation , will find fault in radio carbon dating, because usually there there is not a definitive date. It's usually plus or minus hundreds of years so it must just be a fabrication of those scientists. That's how they are so wrong about the earth being billions of years old vs a book telling them 6000 years, because some guy just said it once and most people were cool with it. No explanation needed , just put on the blinders when it comes into question with anything that disputes it, and then repeat it enough times so others belive it.

And in general with a lot of things, why can't I just accept these things like other people? I would be so much happier if I didn't self ostracise myself from pop. culture. But instead I think. It really gets in the way of this blissful ignorance I'd like to try without intoxicating myself in order to pull it off. Yup, tried to be a real Christian, prayed for my cat(s), for a nice girlfriend, for my brother to come to his senses, etc. I prayed with my heart and soul like Jesus said, none of my prayers were answered. The results would have been the same if I had not prayed at all. My cat(s) died, I'm still lonely, and my bro is still a narcissistic dikhead. Jesus said we can move mountains if we had faith as little as a mustard seed, well Jesus, all the mountains are still there, I doubt even a pebble can be moved even by the most pious amongst us. What a disappointment! Empty promises.

Praying is like wishing, you can do it all you like but it won't make a lick of difference. Instead, face the problems that you try to pray away and focus on actionable solutions; it will make you feel better even if your action fails. Also, some problems there isn't a solution too, everyone and everything dies, and the best you can do is to alter your perspective on it. Instead of focusing on the loss, focus on what you had gained from sharing your life with them. As for personal relations, if the water is toxic, and nothing you add to it can neutralize the poison, then it may be better to leave the pool and find fresher water.

@@sekovittol3124 Many claim NDE's as some kind of proof, but it's peculiar how they're always reaffirming of the religious setting the person grew up in. There's no other way to have "experienced" _after_ living. All we see is a brain misfiring as it tries to stay on. Perhaps there is something, but you would not be able to know of it because you're brain can't be there- it's here, in the physical. The arguments against a 'soul', some spirit inside us that can affect the mind and maybe more, are such: there are no ghosts that can interact in any way whatsoever with the physical world (being completely undetectable means it effectively isn't there), and brain injury can drastically change a person's personality and memory. If the soul could resync with the brain, Alzheimer's wouldn't be a thing, nor would Phineas Gage have been a case study. No one should see any ideation of this stuff as valid. I struggled with finding meaning in the face of retrospective deletion at death, until I independently came up with an idea similar to Fredrich Nietzsche's Eternal Recurrence. Life is precious because it is temporary, because it is rare like a gem. If there would be infinite gems, their value would go down. Not even "precious" metals are precious compared to the vast amount of them in the universe, but they are to us when scaled down. You essentially have to realize the little things matter, nature builds things starting from one atom at a time. People make structures, one brick at a time. We all Start going to the gym, at some point of time and but by bit improve. My point being, everything will eventually end meaning that the current and near future are what really matter. The primary difference between the fools and fanatics, and wiser individuals, boils down to desire. The desire for attention, acknowledgement, accolades as compared to the seeking after information and wisdom, and having the patience and discernment to wait upon such efforts.

there is also a gross lack of curiosity in the fools and fanatics. an almost willful ignorance and a not wanting or caring to know about truth and reality. They choose their state of ignorance. maybe they realize that by increasing their knowledge and understanding, they subseqently reduce their confidence, which is bad for their business of conning people.

Gaining knowledge also imparts with it responsibility (growth). Much easier to believe somebody else will do the work, even as everything fails surrounding them.

@@exiztent818 You are almost reiterating in a nutshell what the German pastor, philosopher, and resistor against the Nazis, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, wrote before he was hanged by the Gestapo. Bonhoeffer said that 90% of stupidity was self-chosen and a moral evil, not an organic brain problem. A lack of curiosity is one of its most salient features. The willfully stupid do not want to learn how wrong they are, so they choose not to learn at all. You might enjoy looking Bonhoeffer up. Your comment goes hand-in-hand with his writings.

One can be still trust evolution and science, he's a zoologist not a moron. He didn't said he's religious. He dares even to claim we are definetively apes, from his pov that's right and i also guess we still like to seperate because of envy not because of ancestry. He's really good in explaining evolutionairy questions.

Very early on in my life I realised that god wasn't real because sounded far too good to be true and exactly what a person trying to convince me of something without trying to know me would say. Just close your eyes and imagine the best thing ever and that's what I am promising you if you follow me, close them again and picture the worst thing and that is what's going to happen if you don't. Is like they didn't even needed to try thousands of years ago, is baffling how it still works
