I've never used water spot remover because I never get visible water spots on my car. But hearing that living near the ocean (south Florida here) can have the minerals deposted on your paint from the dew is something I never heard of. Thanks for the tip and great video as usual.

Its interesting that a lot of people think that iron remover will dissolve iron particles on your clearcoat, going as far as to say you need to use iron remover because claying the iron particles will cause scratches. That being said, i used a few sprays to remove all the rust on a 1” steel auger bit i left in the back of my truck for days. Dissolved all the rust, and even removed the rust stain left in the bedliner.

My wife parked under a car and I thought it was tree sap but it turned out to be aphids. This stuff is nasty to remove as I noticed it turned a golden brown when left on the car. All of these decontamination products are amazing and should be in your garage. The other day I was refilling the iron remover bottle and some ran down my arm onto the shop vac below me. The shop vac turned purple instantly which I thought was interesting. Later my dog came up and started licking my arm where the iron remover spilled. Suddenly he gets this really sour look on his face and starts sneezing. Silly dog!

You’re all clean. Is it safe to use as a pre rinse on a coated vehicle? Or is it too harsh and will it start to break down the coating?

If DIY Detail All Clean breaks down your coating, best use a different coating.

My understanding is that Panel Prep is used to remove the oils left behind from a polish before applying a coating. If you are going to polish your paint, then you woul use the Panel Prep or similar product after you wipe off the polish and before you apply the coating.

how effective is tree sap remover for bug guts? better to get a product specifically for bugs? also after the water spot remover, do you just rinse, dry, and you're done? Or should you go over again with rinseless wash to make sure all the chemical are completely gone?

For insects remains, DIY Detail Rinseless Wash or DIY Detail Incredible Suds work great. If they are more tenacious, DIY Detail All Clean

Hey guys, I got the clay towel and used it on about 3 cars already. I am having some issues getting the paint smooth. I’ve had this issue with clay bars as well. It seems like I spend a lot of time in the same spot and don’t get great results. Is this just a sign of deep decontamination? When do I know to keep going with the towel or just move on and try something different? Thanks

Nick - you need to explain how your mullet keeps appearing and disappearing. Im going to assume its not a mullet wig which you take on and off when you feel the need for some flow, but that some of the vids are pre-recorded from the 'mullet era' and this is one of those....because in your recent podcast you were looking mullet free and clean my friend. That or the background to your part of the stream was editing your mullet out!

Are iron remover and panel prep safe to use on ppf? I have Xpel if that matters. I have no access to running water so would using panel prep + buffing it out be what I should do in this case? Would be very hard for me to rinse out iron remover.

Unfortunately it’s best to rinse iron removers. No need for Panel prep prior to polishing.

It’s a borrowed garage, the car is just for visual appeal. That said Tesla’s accumulate as much contamination as other vehicles.
