32:18 arkfeld can be reprogrammed for double click turbo: put in lockout, click 10 times and hold on last click. Light will flash twice to confirm new u.i.

I have ended up going for the E90 for EDC and then the Wurkkos HD01 Pro when I need a “work light” to do things like light up a small area, use the magnet to stick to a steel panel and use the side light or use the UV which is really good. The UV sidelight on the E90 is surprisingly good, but if I need throw, I go Wurkkos.

I tend to go with high power most the time, so Nitecore or RovyVon !

When nitecore or rovyvon come out with side switch’s instead of tail I will purchase, my arkfeld is great but not all that bright…I would worry about accidental activation with the tail switch. The other major drawback on arkfeld is the battery’s not replaceable..kind of weird when the battery dies the whole light goes in the trash

I think most if not all flat style lights don't have replaceable lights.

I’m outta control..but that falcon is a must build in fans to keep it cool flat style with replaceable batteries it’s awesome

I went for the Rovyvon E90. 3500 lumens and actually waterproof was hard to pass up. It's pretty great. Not a lot of throw, but still a great light, especially for EDC. The 1400 lumen $25 blue Acebeam Tac 2AA is actually a bit brighter in the spot than the 3500 lumen light, I think. Pretty crazy. I hope Rovyvon releases one that has one flood LED and one throw LED. I don't need a bright UV light. The one on the side is more than enough.
@DarrenYeoYT7 күн бұрын
I want to see Nitecore or RovyVon release some super throwy flat flashlight with sustained output. The EDC29 is so close, but 4 seconds is not enough... though the 1200 lumen mode is surprisingly throwy (only the cirlcular LEDs are activated).
@phil20827 күн бұрын
@@DarrenYeoYT I don't think people understand that lumens is not a measure of brightness, just a measure of light output. While many manufacturers of flashlights realize this, the usual compromise has been a zoom lens. Not usually well implemented, but you can choose between high lumens and high candela in the same LED. As the EDC flat type lights have room for two LEDs, I would really love to see the ability to do one throw and one flood LED, as well as swich between them on the modes. I think that would be great. Searching for things at night usually needs throw, and lighting up everything is nice in a different way.
@wearandtear66926 күн бұрын
The blue Acebeam is a legend by now. I discovered during my review that it is totally different from the other versions. It also destroys some of my bigger throwers (for a minute, output can't be sustained). Together with the tactical mode it is quite a useful tool and just as portable as any flat style light. I mostly gravitate towards those flat style lights for the fun modes. My cargo pants allow for fat 21700 lights and more ;-)

The charger doesn't matter with most of these lights, 2A charging from a USB socket is enough. If you have a high wattage charger, the circuit inside the light should only draw as much as needed.

@ I can’t say I don’t have the Arkfield. The proprietary charger turned me off on that one. I did watch a video comparing them and the Wurkkos looked stronger but I can’t say. I do know the HD01 has the best laser I have personally had counting the small handheld ones, the lasers on the Klein flashlights and the one on the Fluke infrared thermometers I use.
@Triaz3574 күн бұрын
I carry the HD01 at work. I really like it but it hasn’t really taken over as my EDC light. It is great for work but has a lot going on for an edc light. I have the original laser version and don’t think I would care for the HD01 pro. You give up instant access to turbo (super useful) for a UV light (situational usefulness). Honestly if they release a light with just the front light and side white light (very unlikely) I would probably get one for an EDC. I like the UI on front light though. It’s the first UI with memory mode that I actually like.

Thanks for the video! What’s the shelf life for these non replaceable flashlights battery’s?? A lot of people simply don’t buy them if u can’t change the battery’s. I’m not too bothered as I want to enjoy using them and will upgrade along the way as I can, as the technology is always improving. Really amazing what we have these days from 30 plus years ago!

They'll last you a few years. Similar to a phone battery, li-po. Also depends how often you charge them. But I only charge mine once every few days max. So it'd expect a few years easily.

Thank you for your overview and outline in the beginning. The batteries should be made so the can be replaced with standard tools which is impossible with most of these lights. I use my favorite lights for many years so battery life would become a limiting factor. The practical aspect for EDC is hard to beat, especially when it comes to the "fun modes" like, UV, RGB or even Lasers. However, for serious use like the outdoors or long night shifts these things all come second place, maybe the spare light or the light you give to the one friend who came unprepared ;-)
