Any thoughts on some of the larger coolers if ran in 2 slot mode? The axp120 x67 or is67 xt paired with the nidec 4090 fan seems promising, though it seems like the x47 fc still cools the 9800x3d just fine. Changing the cooler would probably require your exhaust duct to be redesigned so I'm not sure. Excited to see the testing done for the 5090 because the dual flow through design seems like it'd make things extra toasty even undervolted. Wonder if they went and redesigned the 20 series founder cooler if it would've been capable of cooling since it blew out the side and would've been perfect in theory to blow right out the exhaust port. Your build on this case has had me excited to build one since I've seen it. Hoping I can this year!
@EIGAtech25 күн бұрын
@@TheSakuraBirb Well yes, if the 50 series FE design would've been a conventional one, but with the dual flow-through design the only chance of this working optimally in the T1 would be in 2 slot mode and with a large offset added to the riser bar, to create a gap between the motherboard and the GPU, this means that the x47 fc is still the tallest cooler that would fit. Even so, the riser may end up restricting flow too much. We should get a better idea later this month after we see how well the new FE design performs, if it runs hot by default then I would probably not even consider attempting a new T1 build.

Wow this is really unexpected plot twist haha. A year ago I have the same specs as you but only 7900X (bought it a couple months before the 7800X3D came out) and I dreamed of making the same custom loops as you, but it required a lot more time money and effort, so I built air cooling version exactly the same as you in this video except for the custom stuff and I'm happy. But still there are two important changes. 1. I installed a 120mm Noctua on the CPU through the adapter, it's a little quieter and gives a little better temperature, including cooling the RAM as well. 2. At first I had a regular APX90-X47 Full Copper like yours, but it annoyed me with its color and I found a rare Full Copper Graphene Coated version on T-Mall, it's gray, thank god now I can sleep well. Thanks for the video! Now I won't have to worry and dream about a custom loop like yours. And thanks for the 3d exhaust, that's an interesting idea. I also didn't know about the travel kit and it annoyed me that the 4090 tilts a bit.

Hi EIGA! You give me hope on my 9900X I just purchased for a air cooled build! Just curious, the CPU, did you do anything custom to it? Undervolt it or anything, or was these tests using stock config for the cpu? Got 4 questions, sorry for the many questions. 1. In your amazon list, you have Noctua NA-FD1 Fan Ducts, what are these? where do I put it? Thinking of getting it if it improves thermals. 2. Planning to get the 9070XT, dont know how many slots it is, depending on the AIB partner, from your video, is it correct that I should leave a high gap between gpu and motherboard i.e. if it's 2.5 slot i should make the slot gap at 2.75? 3. Do you have a list of the best cpu fans at each slot for the Form t1? 4. Should I wait for the Noctuas next gen 120mm fans which is coming out in Q1 or get the Phantek t30s? Given that the 5000 series have 2 slots now, hopefully I can find a 2 slot 9070XT, if i leave a gap so its 2.25 slot, formd t1 says I can use a AXP-120-X67 which I assume is better than the copper AXP-90. So temps should be better right? Love your video, keep up the good work!
@EIGAtech14 күн бұрын
Hi, thanks! 1. You can see these being used on top of the CPU fan in the video, they seal against the sidepanel and the theory is that they help bring in fresh air from outside. 2. Ideally yes, as big of a gap as possible. 3. Depending on slot configuration it could be the Thermalright AXP90-x47, x53 or the AXP120-x67. It all depends on how many slots your GPU will take and if leaving a gap benefits cooling, if so I'd stick with the x47. 4. Noctua has a habit of delaying products on their roadmap, the 140mm G2 fan was delayed for years. T30s are best in slot currently.

I reassemble everything back together and try and put the pcie extension as best and delicate as I could and it finally turned on. Happy with my build, im rocking the 13600kf, 32 gbs 7200mhz ram, rtx 4070ti super, and cooler master 850w sfx power supply, with the same cpu cooler you are using. Also the phanteks at the top. There are two upgrades I can think of. The first would be a black ridge with a 120mm slim fan. But that would require a custom AM5 backplate, VLP RAM and probably the removal of the VRM heatsinks. Unbuffered VLP DDR5 does exist, but is hard to find. I used this setup with AM4, DDR4 VLP is easier to get and works very well. The other possible upgrade would be an lga2011 full copper vapour chamber cooler. The AM5 and lga2011 mounting holes overlap, and the cooler could be mounted with long and thin (M2) screws. I tried this and it works surprisingly well. Although the Thermelright cooler is definitely the less janky way to go.

@EIGAtech2 күн бұрын
Well, outperforming is relative. For a purely CPU workload of course an AIO or custom loop will perform better, but in a combined load the heat from the GPU has to go somewhere, and in such a small case, it ends up heating up the radiator passively.

I wanted to do a build in the C4 but by the time I decided to buy one it was gone (for good). We will see what the future brings... but no promises on the A4 H2O.

Thank you for the video, really great looking build! Do you happen to know the length of the riser cable that was replaced? Cheers!

Thanks! It’s the 23cm “reverse socket”. I’ve added a link to the exact one in the description.

Many thanks for this info! 🙌 Anyone know how big difference there is between the full copper and the regular black version?

The difference is significant, I believe it's around 2-3 C.

shoooot - the exhaust shroud wouldn't work with the Gigabyte Z690i boards would it? seems that it wouldn't?
@EIGAtech6 ай бұрын
Depends on the height of the VRM heatsink. If you have your own 3D printer you could test it and see, and then adjust the model as needed.

How does the Alpenföhn BlackRidge compare to the AXP90 Full Copper?
@EIGAtech9 ай бұрын
I recommend watching this video from L91: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpq8oIyXbMiSq7csi=ZdXkAzljG1sJX7j6 The tl;dr is that the AXP90-x47 Full Copper is superior. The Black Ridge has some advantages, with the underside fan mounting style you could have the case in 3.25 slots and not worry about fan turbulence. But from my understanding the Black Ridge also has fitment issues with certain motherboards, including the ASUS B650E-I shown in the video.

I do not have a CNC yet thinking of trying to fine one that can cut metal that is not to expensive that would solve the issue of strength and bending on the pannels

this is 5 months late but is this the 2.1 model of the case?
@EIGAtech4 ай бұрын
Definitely not late. It's the 2.1 indeed. Parts wise I'd only swap to the new SF1000 PSU from Corsair. If you are building now though it might be worth holding off until the 9000X3D chips launch (soon) or even the 50 series GPUs (likely early next year).

hi Eiga, thank you so much for your video, your work is amazing. I was wondering if you can help me with a question of the anti sag bracket. I am hoping to print this myself using a local 3d printing service but I am not very technical. When you say I need 1x M3x5x4 threaded brass insert from the aliexpress link, can you please let me know what x5x4 mean? Does it mean OD 5MM size and 4MM length?

Would I get better temps with the axp90-x53 full copper instead of the x47? My gpu is 2 slot, so I thought why not get a thicker cpu cooler.
@EIGAtech9 ай бұрын
Definitely the better choice since you've got room for it. I'd only get the x47 if you plan on upgrading to a 3 slot card later down the road.
@timo52299 ай бұрын
If you have a 2 slot you can fit an l12s which is better than both
@gallahant9 ай бұрын
@@timo5229 I bought an L12S ghost edition but have not yet tried to fit it. I believe the vrm heatsink will make contact with the heat pipes.

I have a 4090 on my workstation, I'll make sure to keep that GPU to build one of these in the future, it looks amazing What are your alternatives for that CPU cooler?
@EIGAtech9 ай бұрын
The best alternative is probably the ID-COOLING IS-47-XT but it performs worse.
@bionis49809 ай бұрын
Hey, awesome build video really helped me out. The stock riser apparently often has quality problems, its length is 18.5cm your linked cable is 23cm is there no problem with fitting the extra cm. And is the anti sack bracket for the 4090 recommended or am I fine without it ?
@EIGAtech9 ай бұрын
I haven't used my stock riser at all so far, not because I don't think it's good, just that for the builds I wanted to do the Linkup was better. The extra length is not an issue, but thickness is a bit of a downside (stock one is thinner). Anti-sag bracket or travel kit is definitely optional, but I recommend it for OCD 👀.

@@EIGAtech Alright ty for the fast response, just a bit insecure because this will be my first pc build ever. I have another question, do you think it would be a problem to use the back ssd slot on the motherboard temperature wise. Dunno if I want to split the storage in 2x2tb or 1x4tb.

@@bionis4980 I would skip using the backside M.2 personally and get one 4tb drive (I have a 2tb drive and a couple of external NVME enclosures).
