Yes i can take some and apply them or attempt to in my own growing space. I love the new compost bays, painting certainly brightened the area too and the aerial view of your entire growing space was worth seeing. Good luck with the new book. Wow I got tired just watching! I can't imagine doing so many projects at one time. You're a wealth of knowledge and have a great garden. And you're a trooper too .. saw you on Scott's Monday video and you sounded really sick. Keep going and good luck. Also, I really need a small structure for curing my root crops in the summer and fall. I don't want to spend a lot or do anything difficult since my construction skills are very limited. If you have any videos that shows building something like that or id you could put one out sometime that would be great. Thanks Tony!

We had a huge list Eli but there is 3 sites for our small village and they dont seem to have what it takes to stick around. Hopefully the list will start growing again, We have had a lot of people leave this year due to old age who have been here for years and can no longer manage, some had a lot of land so it swallowed the list up quickly

Hello Tony. Your allotment site seems like a overwhelming work of art! You must need a lot of resources to keep on top of everything…. It’s seems like a full time job trying to maintain your allotment. How do you stop your water tanks from getting green algae? And when it rains,and rains , how do you keep all your compost areas dry? Do you do it all by yourself? It’s a labour of love🙏🏻👏👍

Thank you for being so open and honest with this tour. Gardening is not always perfect shots of lush elegantly sculpted gardens ready for the cover of leading gardening magazines. Building and/or reconstructing with used materials, cleaning out existing beds and constructing new ones is messy, so thank you for showing the true picture. My wife and I live in the northeastern area Oklahoma, USA but enjoy your channel so much. While our climates may be different your principles of gardening are transcending of those differences. I received your book yesterday and have already began to enjoy the wealth of knowledge it holds. Heading out to the garden to employ what I see in this book. Thank you, keep it up.

Happy gardening otherwise, and I'm looking forward to seeing the inside of the compost heaps, especially the grass one.....the one source we have ample of 😂 we have been collecting it into a large pit area before, and eventually it turns into nice soil, but in between the composting phases, its a smelly brown slimy mush...💚🌿Best wishes, Maiju

Great to see an update, Tony. You're making quite a few areas look way nicer than they did and still managing to create new garden beds. I'm very envious of the growing space and materials you've gathered there. You're an inspiration to many of us growers. I'm moving again, so down to a stack of rescued plants in pots. My plan for this year is to get 3 8x4ft raised beds filled and growing plus get my poor potted fruit trees in the ground. The rest can come later. Cheers!

Great vid Tony. It's nice to see others with lots to do like us. Our first metal raised bed arrived today I was confused to measurements 😂 i know not hard to confuse me. Lisa asked a few months ago if I could change the beds for higher ones as she was struggling low down.. So the first one is to go in a blank place one bed has been ripped out to move the greenhouse, the other 11 main beds are next. Unfortunately we have no choice but to disturb the soil. The tire wall is been ripped out which shes really mad about. The chicken pen and run has to be moved and rebuilt along with needing to re-cover the polytunnel. Then the fish pond, decking and she wants a bed for wild flower medicinal plants for homemade remedies she wants to attempt.. I've prayed for a few rain free days 😂😂. Miss bossy boots doesnt want much 😂😂😂

@@simplifygardening most definitely. May I ask how tall are your metal beds? Do you think I'd be ok drilling some additional holes and attaching a post from the inside or should I leave the post standing in soil within the bed? I've gone with 77cm tall and different length beds but need to add some sort of posts and trellis to all beds. I've already filled the first using the hugel method. So will be winging the trellis for that one 🤣

They are old head rest and footers to real steel framed beds. They were removed from our fire station when new beds were installed so I had them to repurpose them in the garden

Thanks very much Tony. I'm moving to Serbia in a year or two and will have an acre or so. Your videos are great . I hope to grow a bit of everything including swedes which aren't common there. I also want to grow some Carolina reaper chillies,have you tried growing them at all? The main farming crop is corn. I have no experience at all growing anything so don't know what to do about adding or using fertilisers of any kind of any bugs to watch out for from the corn. They have no cows here either so manure is hard to come by.

Hey tony, Glad your doing well. I was wondering how the allotment system in England works. I'm prepping for a conversation with my County representative here in New York State, to talk about how to perhaps look to creating larger allotment systems.
@simplifygardening
@simplifygardening 3 ай бұрын
There are 3 types of allotment. council-owned and run, association-run and privately run. As a rule, You pay a set amount per year and have to grow on 75% of the land. Each one has their own rules dependent on the council or committee that runs the site

Volume plays a part but because things are linked together the water is always moving and this prevents the stagnation
