This is imo the best bang for buck value rig. I bought 2 about 6 years ago. It has stayed with me as I upgraded my wheels and pedals from a T500rs set to a Fanatec CSW and now to a DD1 with absolutely no issues. Oh and I even have a dbox motion beneath it!!! Sure there is some flex but nothing that is noticeable when driving or drifting (I do more of this as my setup is my off track sim tool). In fact, my friends 8020 extrusion rig is creaky and needs to have the joints regularly tightened although it is easier to add stuff to it if you need. You can see more of my GT Omega rig in "action" in my youtube vids as well as suggested drift settings for the DD1.

I just screwed the additional pieces onto my rig. After sending them an email reffering your video, unfortunately the party were out of stock. bought them finally 4 days before for about 40 GBP, delivered today. Super happy with it! Thanks for the Video and thanks to GT Omega, fantastic company!!

You're welcome. However, if you can afford it, you might wanna check out the Sim-Lab GT1 Evo as well. A full blown GT Omega Pro is a good rig at its price point, and it can handle a direct drive wheel base, but it's not a perfect rig either.

@RobertHopkinsArt5 жыл бұрын
I am ordering one of these today. Thoughts I have before I receive it: I might consider getting a piece of 3/4 inch plywood to screw the entire frame onto. This way I can put fabric entirely around the board so that I can slide it around on my wood floors. This would also help to prevent the pedal section of the unit from being able to pull upwards while driving. The frame would become rock solid attached to the base. I will also get another set of lateral support bars like you mentioned here. Thanks for the info and review! :)

Yeah great review, and since your using a DD wheel it seems sturdy enough with the optional reinforcements,i would consider this since it seems to have good ergonomics,tough choise since i had the simlabs extrusion rig in mind, the gt1 evo,it seems to be one of the most sturdy rig on the market for the moment at a pricepoint of 399euro for the gray and 449euro for the black gt1 and seeing that you need the additional options for reinforcement on the gt omega pro the price isn't that much different and extrution profiles are known for their modular nature and strenght, my question though is that new optional keyboard tray usable for extensive use like you would on a desk, because i want to turn the racing rig in to my gaming station, so if i want to race i use the steering wheel, if i want to play a fps i use the board tray if that makes sense. But all and all this seems like a decent option.
@TheSimChannel4 жыл бұрын
For readibility, please start using full stops every now and then ;-) This one's not a review though, just a buyer's guide. Anyway, the keyboard tray is pretty stable but not completely stiff. I think the video shows it pretty well. You can certainly use it for casual gaming, but I wouldn't use it for competitive gaming. Other than that, I think the GT1 Evo is the better rig overall for most purposes (at a higher price though).

First off, great video! Second, do you know and/or have any opinion on the PRO vs ART cockpit they offer? I can't seem to see what the difference/benefit is between the two.
@TheSimChannel4 жыл бұрын
I'd say the Pro can be made a little more rigid than the Art, but clearance for large pedal sets can be an issue. But yeah, they aim for thee same market segment, which is a bit weird. I definitely prefer the Pro though. Regidity is important.

I don't have that rig anymore, but as memory serves the rig itself doesn't make a whole lot of noise. DDs in general are pretty silent, you can only hear it when the FFB is very spiky and harsh (undampened FFB settings).

@pyc7895 жыл бұрын
By the looks of the video and how the chassis stiffeners look you could technically by a decent width metal you can drill the whole according to the chassi so it over laps the connections, if you really want it so badly it might not look as nice as their solution but with careful work and bit of time you can make them your self and then change it later if there not back ordered anymore

Hi, does any1 know if the omega Art cockpit with Rs6 seat, paired with Logitech g29 wheel and peddle set, has any flex???? Omega customer service said pro version is more sturdy then Art but lots of reviews said art is sturdy. Apparently the wheel you use can affect if there’s flex. I’m only 5 ft 3 and art sounds more suited to me but I’m worried it will be too unstable but I’m also worried that the pro version may be too big for me . Any advice would be great.

Assuming you're using a PC: Since the TH8A and TSS are stand-alone USB devices, yes. The DD wheel is good, and the cockpit is fine for it as well, but doesn't angle the DD wheel. Check out my DD1 review for more on that. And the wheel plate I think has the two rear holes for Fanatec wheels but needs to get 1-3 holes drilled on top of that to mount the DD wheels steadily.

Is the seat adjustable without the bracket? Or does it have only one position?
@TheSimChannel5 жыл бұрын
If you're talking about my bucket seat solution: To slide it back and forth you use the seat slider (regular range, like in a regular car). To move it up and down and put it at an angle you use the different slots in the seat's mounting bracket (the black |\---/| thing on the side of the seat). There's no on the fly height/ angle-adjustment with the brackets though, as you select a slot and put a screw through it. If you're talking about the GT Omega seats: Seat slider same as for bucket seats. Up and down: Not adjustable. Reclining backrest: Lever on the side of the seat, similar to most regular cars. By the way, these things are pretty much the same on any rig or in any race car, really.
@zottelinho5 жыл бұрын
Many thanks for your fast response. I would like to buy a complete package with the seat from GT omega. My Question is: Can I change the Seat Position, without all the extras you have bought? Because I‘m 202cm and its very hard to find a nice rig. I‘m using the CSL Seat at the Moment (which is perfectly fine!) but I don‘t think it‘s capable of handling the DD1.
@TheSimChannel5 жыл бұрын
@@zottelinho Yes, you can move it forwards and backwards, and you can change the backrest's incline with what's included in the box from GT Omega. No extras needed.
@zottelinho5 жыл бұрын
Nice, That‘s what I wanted to hear. Do you have anything negative to report now or still everything fine with the GT Omega and DD 1?
@TheSimChannel5 жыл бұрын
@@zottelinho So far, everything is fine on my side. Only downside is that a custom solution is required to put the wheel base at an angle. I think I may have come up with something that does the trick for me (at 23€), will know more once the parts arrive. If I were shopping for a new cockpit for a DD wheel base, I'd take a closer look at the Sim-Lab GT1 Evo, though. It costs more, but appears to be very affordable for what it is. It's certainly a better, more "grown up" rig at a higher price. Since I've never tried nor owned it, I don't know if it has any downsides. The biggest advantage of the GT Omega Pro, in my eyes, is really that it's the cheapest way to get a decent, DD-ready rig.

@TheSimChannel5 жыл бұрын
@SIMRIG4124 жыл бұрын
😂😂😂 still has flex obviously. Look at the end of the video. This is junk for the $$. Buy simlab
@TheSimChannel4 жыл бұрын
While buying Simlab is certainly not a bad idea, their rigs are in a different price bracket. The flex you see at the end is done with a lot of force and does not occur during driving, since you never pull or push on your rig like that. Thus, while the rig isn't perfect, it certainly is not junk either.
@maarten32254 жыл бұрын
@@TheSimChannel Not too mention that the flex also occurs due to lack of weight. It has a point where it bends a little where it's put together. And only because you're lifting it up in the example. Very solid rig for the money.
