Great tip! Notably leather, wool (can also macerate into string), clay, sticky resin (I skip tree taps entirely and only use resin from the coin quest or slime from slime tree extraction until I get fish catchers set up for infinite free slimeballs), glass dust, pistons (for drawer upgrades, later you can just use pistons), chad, rubber, crop sticks, vishrooms (to turn into primal shrooms), then wire/cables/diodes/circuit stuff, and of course ae2 glass cables and processors later.

Thank you man. I am also total beginner to GTNH and your tips, especially NEI and chunk claiming ones are so helpful! If i can add one thing from myself is that veggie sandwiches and their variations(bund, baguettes) are very cool for early game since all you need are onions tomatoes cucumbers and wheat to counter diminishing returns

That was an excellent starting guide. Thanks. Small coal blocks drop coal which can make torches before getting coke ovens. Sometimes found at the mouth of caves or sides of mountains near a coal vein. Doors and pressure plates are very annoying to build but you can ahem borrow them from villagers. Rice comes only from the water gardens which are rare and only found in water (forgot which biomes). Repeating the very high value of steel ingots, steel armor and steel molds (which can be melted down later). Avoid red cultists. There are many other fun surprises to discover in the wilds, a few of which are nice. You will want a dozen stacks of sand in the very early game, and as much clay. Make note of where you can get them before settling down. Use journeymap bookmarks (and keybinding) to note biomes, ores, and features/treasures to visit later. And bookmark your base.

@@Garronimo Also right-clicking the 1/1 at the top to toggle scaling the whole page can be useful, especially early since I at least tend to add and remove recipes more often. I would also explain how to search inside the machine/crafting bench recipe page for a particular item, I remember struggling with tool recipes or tinker parts for example before I learned you can search for "manasteel" or whatever inside the recipe page, helps when there are hundreds of recipes for a thing and you're looking for something in particular.

Great Episode 1! You can also do just "/sethome" for your main base, and then you just have to type "/home". I also personally always choose lootbags from Stone -> MV and save all of them to trade up to MV lootbags. Why? There are no repeatable quests for MV lootbags, so they are unobtainable once you complete all the quests that give them, and they can contain up to two creative tinker modifiers (to use on the crossbow bolts), the best crossbow in the game, the best bolts in the game, the best hammer in the game, and a decent sword. You also gain the ability to enchant all the bags with Fortune 3 in MV. Do you need to do this? No, but there is no other way to obtain these items, since the other bag with creative modifiers is limited and to craft items with the same stats you need more levels and XP. It's not worth worrying about if you don't do it since all that stuff doesn't really matter in EV+, but I personally like to do it. HV+ lootbags have repeatable quests you can do to obtain them. For food, I personally never bother with planting any food crops or crafting any food earlygame, I just throw down gardens all around (they spread up to 6 adjacent of the same type) and then live off of the quest rewards and the garden drops until I can craft a healing axe (needs enchanting table from wizard tower level 2 or a lootgame), but if you're a beginner and not rushing, that may not work well, plus the kitchen multiblock is one of the coolest ones and I am guessing it feels good making/using it early on. The biggest early-game tip I can say is that a rule of thumb is that everything you do now will take half the time in the next tier, including exploring, so focusing on completing the tier is almost always mathematically the "best" use of your time for progression, but having fun is the actual best use of your time, so do what you find enjoyable. Bees, ic2 crops, thaumcraft (outside of like the minimum for boots, thirsty tank, thaumic restorer, skullfire sword, and the crops), all of these are almost a complete waste of time before EV or so and are even easier to do even later on (due to world accelerators, opencomputer scripts, research-completing machines, AE2, or in IV for example there is a repeatable quest for a pure tear, which can clear all your warp), but they can be a fun distraction/side quest, so focus on what you think is fun. Building a nice base takes a lot of time too but can feel more rewarding for many than spending the time doing something else.

I can confirm that it is hard to obtain the healing axe if you accidentally put the world on default when setting up a server. It is painful, but it is possible to obtain the flowers for the rainbow curry by using a bee apiary to spawn random flowers.

Amazing tips! Would love if some of the future episodes include aspects related to base building: early bases, size, layout, chest organization, early tools for leveling terrain, wood adquisition... that sort of things. Not long ago I tried to get into the pack but I absolutely suck at making bases and organizing chest, and made an awful underground base that made me quit at the late stone age/early steam age because every room expansion took ages. Also spent a lot of time flattening the terrain around my house just with Tinkers' iron tools, which weren't so slow but still took a bunch of time. Maybe there are better options at early game for doing these tasks? And if I got overwhelmed just with early base progression, I don't even want to know how I would solve the situation about all the machinery, energy generation, pipes, etc., you need some stages later xD. Thanks a lot for this guide and waiting for the next chapters!!

Couple more food tips, get a decent farm for beef wellington (with tofu or cows whichever) as early as you can, its really inexpensive but gives a full bar of hunger and saturation, for a steady food source you can eat mostly that and berries in between to reset the counter and it'll work well enough if you don't care about raising max health at the moment. I believe that FTB mods are not to be used for chunk loading as there is an intended way to chunkload also the sethome could be abused to fast travel to the moon or other dims. I would enjoy you saying how to remove the JEI similar items collaps (I personally hate it) and the new raw ore (pls also show how to remove it).

noted on the item collapse and additional NEI/JEI information! maybe I will do a video specifically about all the capabilities, there are tons!
@qaptain37398 күн бұрын
I mean it's your game, you can play how you want. The "official" stargate rules allow chunkloading and /home. The "intended" chunkloaders can also be laggy and maintaining them is trivial after HV, so I don't think it's encouraged to be used unless on servers that don't allow you to chunkload via FTB but let you use the chunkloaders. I think the official servers might have even disabled them because of lag. I personally love the new raw ore, it's so much easier to differentiate than the old ore blocks themselves.
