as a 32 year old, i pretty much only play goat,with no forbidden cards, just limited. its fun. i remember vividly fall semester 2003 when graceful charity was moved from semi limited to limited i was so mad lol. but i respect it at limited, not banned. best years ever for this childrens card game

My biggest tip: try other decks. Get out of your comfort zone. Playing the same cookie cutter Goat/Chaos Control deck gets old after a while and having fun is all that matters.

@@NickDeriu_ That's another thing: everyone has different playstyles. I suck at piloting slower decks like Goats, but I noticed I won more with more aggressive and streamlined decks like Beastdown and Burn.

Correct, although you may also want to check out the Edison format which has a slightly larger card pool ranging all the way through 2010

@@NickDeriu_ I watched a video, seemed interesting, although I still need to learn things in it because it goes up to synchro and I stopped before that was introduced. I think it was 2007 or something. I had two decks(some cards were proxy though but no one cared lol) I had a cyberdragon deck that aimed for 1 hit(powerbond or limiter remover) And one more slow paced deck that used the older monarks and sacrificial fodders to play them (liked Mobius specially) I'll give a try though, thanks, I didn't even heard avout this format before, thabks for the info

Hi there! Great video! Thanks to this I started playing Goat earlier this year. I definitely felt much more comfortable and confident diving into this format that I didn't get a chance to play years ago. I went to my first in-person Goat Prix event too recently! I had a lot of fun and learned so much in the process. Currently rocking with Chaos Turbo and Goat Control. I will dive into Monster Reasoning and Panda Burn next. 👀 P.S. Each time I make a Goat deck profile, I always recommend this video and the Goat Format channel. Great resources for other new players too!

I'm currently building a goat format deck but with a twist. Goat format limited to 1 every cards and all current banned cards are not allowed. so no pot of greed, graceful charity and delinquent duo. and honestly it's a lot less stale than the usual goat format.

I just hopped on to goat format, tried to play an exodia deck. Queued up, game started, didn't know if i was first or second so tried normal summoning Sangan, which i did. Didn't know how to end my turn, quit 😂 If there's a way to play goat format in master duel, like private matches, i'd be so down for that.

I got my first starter deck when I was 13 back in late 2003, but didn't start playing seriously till Goat Format took effect. Seeing the modern format has me returning to the nostalgia days because of how toxic the modern format has become: "Either play the best deck or don't play at all!" Goat Format isn't like that. There are many decks that can actually do really well, and even though the ban list and the card pool are both set in stone, new strategies and ideas still happen to this day. Will I abandon the modern format? Maybe someday. I do love all the new Blue-Eyes cards and I'm not yet ready to let go of them. But I also love the glory days of 2005, when things were so much simpler for me.

I once saw someone compare Goat Format to 𝘚𝘶𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘚𝘮𝘢𝘴𝘩 𝘉𝘳𝘰𝘴. 𝘔𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘦 - it's as good as it's going to get, and yet, it doesn't have to get any better because it doesn't need to. That being said, I DO wish a few cards that were late to the party could have been accessible in 2005. Take "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon," for example. That beloved behemoth showed up in January 2006, JUST BARELY missing Goat Format. It would have made "Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon" both legal and playable for us Kaiba lovers. Another example is "Meteor Black Dragon" for the Red-Eyes players; that one didn't show up in the TCG till 2012, which was after the Tele/DAD Format. Both beasties would have made phenomenal targets for "Cyber-Stein," which as we know is legal in Goat Format.

@@apostleianlovelette If you really like those cards specifically, I would recommend you to play OCG Goat format, Japan had all of those and more during 2005, which makes the poll of cards even more diverse than TCG Goat

@@Soulssl4yer I'd recommend you use duelingbook. In EDOPRO you can choose which errata (iteration of card text) you want to use. If you didn't select the errata from 2005 you wouldn't be able to use it in a goat format room, since it's 2023 text isn't the same as it's 2005 text. Can't help you more since I don't use EDOPRO.

In modern day Yugioh yes, in GOAT there is no limit to the amount you can have in your fusion deck. The sideboard is limited to 15 cards
