Excelent video! I'm just a bit disappointed that a good video like this didn't mention that 99% of response times listed on retailer and manufacturer specifications do not represent reality at all, and should be outright ignored when purchasing. This is very important, and VESA is in fact issuing new testing standards like ClearMR to address that exact problem, but this standard is not widespread as of yet, which is why you should actually check 3rd party reviews and testers for realistic response times of your monitor

Are Dell gaming monitors good? I just picked up a Dell G3223d, 1440p, 32", 144hz, and I love it! I had the Samsung Odyssey G7 1440p, 244hz, 32" before, but it died after 5 months. I feel like Dell units are more reliable. Is this true?

Really love this video - very simple to understand and helpful! As someone who uses Outlook and MS word and other applications in the MS suite extensively for reading contracts every day, the G27Q and it's BGR subpixel layout made reading text terrible. So unfortunate because it really excels in every other category for the price.

It will be for myself and my 12 year old son who likes to play Minecraft, Zelda tears of the Kingdom, and I will be puting the Sims 4 on it for myself and I also play Tears of the Kingdom. In the future we may add some more games so keep that in mind. Based on what I've told you so far what monitor would you recommend and if you do have a recommendation on a PC desktop gaming computer it needs to be under $1,200. Thank you for any time you spend answering my questions I really appreciate it hope to hear from you soon as I will be doing this fairly soon since Black Friday sales are on now.😊

Constructive criticism here. In the beginning of the video you said you would give me an understanding of what the monitor naming scheme means, but you talked about resolution, refresh rate, response time and didn’t touch in the naming scheme at all. I already know what I’m looking for as far as specs but I don’t know the difference between 1a and 1b in the naming, idk what VG means for Asus or what qfd or qrf means. LG for instance has a gl850a and gl850b

For what i have been researching, the perfect monitor does not exists, unless you pay 500+dlls. Either the monitor has ghosting, backlight bleeding, lack of accuracy in colors, not true HDR, not very good g sync, flickering, the monitor behaves weird depending on what gpu you have, latency, dead pixels, weird sounds, no in-built speakers, poor contrast, low quality UI buttons, poor tilt, height adjustment, mounting or non existent, and many other stuff that I`m forgetting. I really don't know what to buy anymore.

So what happened to the idea that the human eye doesn't see much more than 60 frames per second. Was that just an old lie? I just got a Strix scar 15 2021 edition with a 16 gig 3080 (non ti) and am looking for an external monitor, but for the games I play I can't help but feel I would rather crank the settings and max out at 75 hz 1440p rather than spend money getting something that can go up to 144, know what I mean?

Bought a gaming monitor an hour before seeing this video, but it worked out because i bought one with exactly the specs you recommended for the sweet spot! I did have a question about how clear a 1080p 27" monitor would be, as I read somewhere that it is where the 1080p starts to not be as great?
