🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:00 🖌️ Learn essential shortcuts for character design in Moho, including S for draw shape, T for transform points, A for add points, C for curvature tool, and Q for select shape. 08:00 🖥️ GPU acceleration can help maintain reference image opacity while drawing shapes. 15:10 🖼️ Choose the right reference for character design, and consider A-pose for more natural poses and less deformation during animation. 20:32 🎨 Start character design with elements at the back, and use various tools like draw shape, add points, transform points, and curvature tool to create detailed shapes in Moho. 24:50 🎨 The tutorial demonstrates how to design character elements like hair and ears using vector drawing techniques in Moho 13.5. 28:56 👁️🗨️ When drawing characters, adding asymmetry to features like eyes can make them look more natural and interesting. 36:11 ✍️ To draw shapes with consistent styles, create a shape with the desired style first, then use it as a reference for drawing other shapes. 43:45 🌈 Masking can be used to add texture to objects like a character's sweater. Group the textured object, then apply a mask inside the group using the "mask inside bottom layer" option. 49:48 🖌️ When applying masks, ensure that strokes around your shapes are preserved by checking the "exclude strokes" option in the layer's masking settings. 50:49 🧥 Learn how to create a collar for a character's sweater in Moho 13.5 by drawing and curving a shape. 52:30 🧣 Create a collar for your character by drawing a circle and adding stroke and fill, then adjust its curvature. 55:51 👚 Draw lines on your character's sweater, create a new layer for them, and add strokes with masking to control their appearance. 57:32 👗 Design a skirt for your character by drawing a rectangle and adjusting its shape. 01:04:10 👠 Create the character's legs, socks, shoes, and texture by drawing and masking different layers, allowing for detailed character design. 01:18:58 🎨 This segment covers the breakdown of character layers, including t-shirt, left hand, jacket, and more for character design. 01:22:35 🌈 Learn how to apply gradient effects to different parts of your character, creating transitions between colors using Moho. 01:24:42 🖌️ Explore advanced techniques like creating a separate "colors" layer, manually drawing color transitions, and using sharp points for control. 01:27:40 🎨 Discover how to precisely control brightness and color transitions in different character parts by selecting and adjusting points with the color tool. 01:28:44 📹 Wrap up the tutorial with a reminder to like, subscribe, and share, and an invitation to explore more tutorials like this one. thank you very much for your great totorial and your work! Awesome. Did anyone have the problem before that zooming in and out by scolling the mouse doesnt work? All happens when i scroll is that the my workspace moves up and down.. Having the problem now for over a month and still dont know how to fix it. I am using a mac and a magic mouse.
@modelmananimation6 ай бұрын
You're very welcome my friend I have some suggestions that could help you fix your problem: 🟢1. first, check to see if your mouse can actually scroll on other applications. maybe the problem is related to your mouse and not Moho. 🟢2. In Moho, use shift(on mac i don't know what's its name) + right click to zoom in and zoom out. It is important to test this one. testing it will help you check if Moho can actually zoom or not. Alternatively from the bottom of tools window, select zoom tool, which can be found in workspace section. and try to zoom with it to check that as well. 🟢3. Check your settings, as there might be something wrong there. to do it, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Mouse in the sidebar 🟢4. Try to unpair and pair your mouse. sometimes this, fixes your problem. to do that, Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Bluetooth. After that, Select the mouse, then click the Delete button next to the mouse name. and then pair your mouse again.

@@ben-y6r This problem that you're mentioning is a known problem☺ 🤔Since 2004, many users have had the same problem with mac until now. but since none of them has reported it in detail, Moho developers have not done anything to solve it yet and they did not take it seriously😅 I would recommend you to record a very short video (less than 25 mb) from your problem and report it to Moho developers through the following link that i send you my friend. 🟢In your report, don't forget to mention these: 🔸1. the fact that there is no problem with your mouse or your scroll in other apps. 🔸2. your pc/laptop model 🔸3. the fact that you CAN zoom with shift and right click, but not using scroll. 🔸4. your Moho version (you can see it if from top, you go to help and choose about Moho) 🙃If you do this, there will be a chance that they fix it in future versions or give you a solution in your current version if it is possible😉 🔗here is the link: moho.lostmarble.com/pages/contact# ☺Wish you a day without "mouse problems" in Moho my friend

@@modelmananimation Hi, 1. illustrator vs photoshop for creating 2d game characters for unity 2. Moho pro vs spine pro which is better for 2d character animation for unity games ? Please answer these two questions !
@modelmananimation Жыл бұрын
@@chhatrapatikumar Hi my friend when it comes to making a game, the answer of your questions can not be accurate! So there is no accurate answer like "this" or "that". And the reason is it depends on different aspects of your game, such as the style of your designs, the animations you want to make, the effects you need to make, the mechanics that the game designer designs, the changes that you might think you'll make in the future even if you don't need to do them now, etc. 😁Also, there is no "better" option. Every software that you mentioned in your comment can be a good option for making a game. For some games you might found it easier to use one of them, while for some you might prefer to use the other, or even both! 🙂To show you an example, here is the game that I created using adobe illustrator, photoshop and Moho: here is the behind the scenes of my game kzbin.info/www/bejne/fGnNlYiDbrt1mposi=na60t62ojTkwfnG9 and here is the gameplay: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rX-qnqFtjc2hhacsi=ZrYS4DS9XXCxDD_F And from my own experience, you'll only find your answer when you finish your game!😁 I myself had faced the same challenge before I stated to make my game in pre-production stage. but yeah, let's just make it clear for you. 😀 1. to choose between photoshop and illustrator, first, think about the style of your game. We use adobe illustrator to create vector images (vector images are created based on path, fill and stroke, they don't lose quality when you zoom, they take less time to process and load compared to raster images). On the other hand we use Photoshop to create raster images (raster images are created based on a number of pixels, each has three numbers, including red green blue, and obviously they take a lot of time to load compared to vector images, however there is more freedom when you want to add a lot of details to your design when you choose raster images). In contrast, you can create raster images in illustrator and create vector images in photoshop as well. But the reason that I said we use illustrator to create vector images and we use photoshop to create raster images, is that it's easier to create a raster shape in photoshop while it is easier to create a vector shape in illustrator! So to find the answer of your question, you need to experiment! And take it easy, do not test it with a great character full of details. test it with a simple character to see which one suit you the best. Just to add another option for you, I have to tell you that if you want to create vector images, you can even design your characters in Moho! however, Moho is a little weak in applying perfect realistic shadows and lights. If you don't know about vector and raster, you can watch my tutorial about them: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b57ch6eHn52lnassi=wm119uFgbVDOyv4g 2. In the past years, Moho didn't have a feature to export a nice fbx file that can be readable in Unity. When you did that, Unity changed the order of the layers and you couldn't correct it anymore. However, in the last version of Moho they added a script that you can drag and drop into your unity project to fix this problem. But when me and my teammates tried to use that script, it turned out that this new script only works in some certain situations (like it doesn't support all unity versions and if you have applied an effect like shading effect in Moho to your character, you might face a completely black character!). So if you want to use fbx, you might face these problems, so you have to test it for yourself. What I did in my own game, was that instead of fbx, I rendered my project in png sequence format (every animation will be a set of png images). It helped me to create sprite sheets and easily handle everything(when using this method, you don't need to worry about exporting effects and shading because during rendering, Moho will convert all of the shapes and effects into raster images, however, after importing them into unity, you can't change the animations because they're just images). 😁Just to let you know, if you only want to CREATE your character in Moho and for animating you want to use unity itself, fbx will be your only option, this method helps you to decrease the size of the final version of your game. Whereas if the size of your game file doesn't matter, you can go can animate everything in Moho and render them in png sequence format. And since fbx might bring you some problem, you now know that using Moho (png sequence method) will increase the size of your game significantly. So when we're talking about the size and optimizing and the format that we export, Moho is not very friendly with game engines such as Unity, compared to Spine Pro. 😅However, compared to Spine Pro, Moho is so powerful, full of freedom and time-saving. It provides endless features to create your favorite animations. in softwares such as Spine pro, you can not define how your objects react to perspective perfectly, like for headturn, you can only change the positions of the shapes and if you want to adjust their points, you have to do it manually. But in Moho, we have smart bone, it simply means you tell the points linked to a bone how to react when you move or rotate or scale the bone. And after that, when you rotate, move or scale the bone, the points will do what YOU told them to do! this way you can control everything by rotating one single bone and it is incredible! 😉For games, Moho has a feature called action, it helps you to create different actions apart from the main timeline of Moho, which means that you can create actions such as walking and jumping and render them separately. ☺Also, Moho lets you import a lot of images and environments and play most of the animations and effects and see almost the entire game even before you actually start a project in unity! Although you can do the same thing in Spine Pro, handling all of those images and putting them in the correct position is easier in Moho. So again you have to test it yourself to see which one is better for your game. I hope you create a wonderful game for us to play my friend, and thanks for sharing your question with me. ❤

Im new subscriber. I want ask about use liqud shape to replace masking, it good or bad?
@modelmananimation Жыл бұрын
Hello new subscriber 😊😍 thanks for your subscribing Both are good, we do not have anything bad in Moho. You know that in Moho, inside groups we have layers, and inside layers we have shapes. So when you want to add, subtract, or clip a layer, you use mask. When you want to add, subtract, or clip a shape, you use liquid shape. As you can see we can't use them interchagably. So it depends on the situation. To compare them I have to say: 1. Mask is for layers, but liquid shapes is for shapes 2. Liquid shape has blend value and using it you can blend your shapes with each other but mask doesn't have blend value and you can't blend your layers with each other 3. Mask has a feature called exclude strokes that you keep or remove the strokes of the base shape on top of all of shapes in your group but liquid shape doesn't have this feature 4. In moho we have different methods of rigging and drawing. A: Sometimes a person wants to draw everything in one layer, and link the points of the shapes of that layer to some bones (in this case liquid shape is recommended) B: Sometimes a person wants to draw the shapes in several layers and then link the layers to bones (in this case mask is recommended) C: Sometimes a person wants to use both of the methods (A and C) (in this case both mask and liquid shape is recommended) 5. Mask can be used for image layers but liquid shape can not be used for images To learn more about masks watch this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpmtg6eXd5aIb68si=w5PlX8c7vmHnSoHD To learn more about liquid shapes watch this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ioSQoZtrqdWXpLssi=58dsIRwwtzFz8Bd3 So the choice is yours and both are good❤

I have a question: I’ve made a character & animation for that character. I want to use that character again for a new animation but when the character is imported to the new animation it doesn’t allow me to resize or move the layer in the 0 key frame. I have styles setup for the character I don’t know if that’s the issue. Is there a way to resize/move the character in the 0 keyframe like it would be for the initial character creation? Thanks
@modelmananimation11 ай бұрын
Hey, If you're talking about moving the whole character with all bones and shapes and points, one of the best ways is to regroup your character. That'll do the work :)
@LavishDigitalz11 ай бұрын
@@modelmananimation it only allows me to edit/move/resize the character from the 1 keyframe and not the 0 keyframe. Is there anything that I need to reset to edit in the 0 keyframe or don’t import character from old animation?

@@LavishDigitalz By "0 key frame" you mean "frame zero"? You're saying that you can edit/rotate/resize/scale the layer of your character only when you're on frame 1 and not 0. Yes? If yes, then how about when you are on frame 2 or 3?

hi do you know why i got my element move from the original posistion when i copy paste to other layers?
@modelmananimationАй бұрын
@@muhammadilhampradana1385 Hi, first you need to know in Moho we have two different positions: 1. Position of points which can be controlled by hitting T to select Transform points tool 2. Position of layers which can be controlled by hitting M to select Transform layer tool. When you select Transform layer tool you can see the x and y positions of your layer on top as some values. And there will be a reset button there to reset the position of the layer. Lets say you have a point in x=0 and y=0 in layer 1. And layer 1 itself is at x=0 and y=0. And you have layer 2 which is at x=3 and y=0. In this case If you copy the point to layer 2, since layer 2 is at x=3 compared to layer 1 which is at x=0, the point will be pasted at x=3 instead of x=0. Also if layer 1 and layer 2 have different scales, like if layer 2 is bigger than layer 1, the shape you copy from layer 1 to layer 2 will be bigger. By the way when Transform layer tool is selected, on top you can see the x and y scale of the layer with a reset button next to them. So your problem might be because of layers having different positions or scales, so it is recommended to check that before you copy from one to another. Nice question my friend ❤️ For the ones who read this comment, if you want to learn all the differences between Transform Points tool and transform layer tool and how to use them you can watch this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKXMXpmtiJaWrNUsi=MauxjwjcZ2lbPcJt

how to make character wizard like settings to my own character in moho
@modelmananimation2 ай бұрын
@@paladhannaya8571 Can be a little bit tricky. Right click on Moho icon on your desktop or taskbar or wherever it is, choose: propertise Choose open file location To go where Moho is installed. Then go to: Resources> Support>Pro (or Debut depending on whether you use Moho pro or debut)> Character wizard In that folder we have some folders for body parts. Alternatively, if you don't want to ruin your Moho's original files you can go to edit> prefereces and choose an address for your custom content folder When you create custom content folder, a folder called Moho Pro(or Debut) will be created in that address. Go to it. Then go to Character wizard and then you'll find folders of body parts. And then you can save your mouth into mouth folder and close your Moho and open it again. This way you'll have the mouth in character wizard widow. These are the only ways to have your character's body parts in character wizard window.

Good evening sir, I want to ask how to trace in Moho 13. Sorry, I'm not very good at drawing
@modelmananimation10 ай бұрын
Hello, what do you mean by "trace"? Do you mean converting an image layer to a vector layer automatically?😁 If yes, you can follow the steps below: 1. make sure your image layer is selected 2. from top left, go to "Draw" 3. click on "Trace Image..." 4. choose your favorite settings and click on "OK" This way, your image will be converted into a vector layer, which will be created on top of your image layer, and your image layer will be turned off🙂

خسته نباشید ممکنه زیرنویس فارسی هم اضاف کنید؟
@modelmananimation Жыл бұрын
