Azura sounds nice. If I'm in Tamriel, my main goal would basically be to obtain the most comfortable afterlife I can. It's where I'll be spending the vast majority of my time in the long run, after all. And to top it all off, she's probably the least likely of the Daedra to ask you to hurt people or put yourself in danger. All she really wants is praise and adoration.

Nah, Wintersun mod, Jygallag main here. In lore, Jygallag has the perfect formula for predicting present event outcomes, and future events as well as knowledge of all past events. Hermaeus Mora does not truly have all knowledge, and can only acquire it from others as seen from him having to trick the Skaal into giving them their secrets. Jygallag however, while still not having all knowledge as there is ALWAYS more to learn, (thus is the folly of Herma Mora) he has the perfect formula and cold hard logic that he can use to learn whatever he wishes and before he was cursed into being Sheogorath, he had it all in a neat library in perfect alphabetical order. In theory, if a mortal were to somehow get Jygallag to concern himself with them, this knowledge which he of course knows by perfect photographic memory (and perhaps even the formula if the mortal mind can handle it) could be shared...

If I were to be a devote follower of a Daedric Prince, it would be Hermaeus Mora (this provided I have the power to traverse his realm without much trouble), as writing, lore, storytelling, and mythology has been a passion and hobby of mine for a long time. What's good about Mora's realm is that, when taking the nigh-infinite amount of knowledge at your disposal, spending an eternity in Apocrypha hardly sounds boring or stale, as it is ever-changing and never constant with there always being something new to read and learn about. I would also entertain the possibility of socializing with the many ghosts that inhabit the realm, each one with their own unique experiences and perspectives. Compare this with other realms, which are either endless revelry or suffering, Apocrypha just sounds like a far better place to go when you die.

Meridia and Azura are probably the only two daedra who wont inherently screw you over. Even their realms are habitable by mortals.

Hircine won’t inherently screw you over, either. He’s actually extremely chill, for a Daedra. If you directly disobey Azura or Meridia, you’re likely to piss them off, and have them curse you somehow. Hircine, when you directly disobey him in Skyrim (and indeed, do the opposite of what he asked), is just amused and actually impressed, and gives you his blessing anyway. He’s also extremely honorable, always giving the prey at least an obscure opportunity to escape the hunt, and actually rewards those that do. Also, Hircine is also extremely polite, especially for a Daedric Prince. In Skyrim, he greets you with “Well met, hunter”, which is not only a polite greeting, but by addressing you as “hunter” and not something like “mortal”, is actually extremely respectful, acknowledging the person as something of an equal. That, and Hircine seems to actually care about his followers.

The wyresses in Bangkorai sacrificed one of their own to summon him, but because they were not strong enough to defeat the Reachmen, he would not even speak to them, choosing to address the Vestige directly instead. All things considered, Hircine is my favorite.

This is my experience with daedra: Nocturnal showed me my true self. Azura showed me what I should know and want to protect me. Sheogorath, Merunes Dagon and Molag Bal made a bet about me. Molag Bal wanted to break me with pain and I don't know what more. Merunes Dagon wanted to trick me. But Sheogorath, Sheogorath is different. He never wanted to break or trick me. He was allways there for me, even if I did not know. He want's me to be myself. He loves me the way that I am. He would allways understand and support me. He makes no presure. I love Sheogorath the way he is and I would not change him a bit. I recommend to worship him, but it is all a matter of personal decisions. Be yourself and deside your own personal decisions.

It is lord peryite, who worship I must, a true daedric lord in which I trust. So ingrained is my lords sphere, that all natural order is what he holds dear. Through inaction an action is caused, lord peryite enforces our laws. Naught but a cog in the great machine, it is peryite who keeps us clean. So if you are so bold, as to see which lord to uphold. May nature and law guide you, as you walk in awe of the world beside you. Not going to lie, spent way too much time on this little bit, nevertheless keep up the great work.

My favorite is Clavicus Vile, to me he is arguably either the strongest Daedric Prince or seconded to Sheogorath. The description of his realm in "The Lord of Souls" and "The Infernal City" novels fascinated me and it is within these novels we can get a good idea of his power. And Barbas is a plus.

My three choices of worship are 1.Vaermina (I’ll explain) 2.Molag Bal (I’ll also explain) 3.Hermaeus Mora. Firstly Which god inherently visits mortals? It’s said that whenever you wake from a cold sweat, unable to remember your nightmare, you were visited by Vaermina. I believe of all the Daedra, Vaermina truly loves mortals. She is cruel, Just as cruel as Bal, but her cruelty comes from assuming we are as strong as she is mentally. Her understanding of nightmares is her strength of course.. but the things one could do with such Magics are unreal. As for Molag Bal, there’s great benefit to worshipping him, at great risk. I’d take the opportunity to use Necromancy and become a Lich. I’d bind my soul and keep myself on Tamriel, and continue my service to grow powerful, at next to no risk of being sent to Coldharbour. The trick is staying useful, while staying out of reach. And for Mora, it’s the same as Bal. Mora has access to incredible knowledge, but one could withhold bits of knowledge from him. Feed him only as much as completely necessary. Then you become an asset to him, while simultaneously being invaluable. He can’t destroy you, or he risks losing your secrets. This prevents the Miraak scenario.

Hircine honestly seems like the nicest. Not really “cruel” any more than an animal can be, and doesn’t bother with “slights” or “deceptions” like other nice-er Daedra like Azura. And speaking of Azura - she really could lock down an Aedra-level popularity of worship if she didn’t make herself so finnicky and inscrutable. She’s in like three different pantheons with radically different moodswings in each.

I feel like the more benevolent facets of Sheogorath are often overlooked. He's also a patron to artists, giving people a new outlook compared to the cold, linear logic of his counterpart. The blessings of Sheogorath is one of my favorite books in Oblivion. Despite his capricious nature there's a good reason why he's so beloved in the Isles.
