Your video on what went wrong with Disgaea 6 got me into the series. I literally woke up to it having auto played, and I went back to the beginning to see what it was about, and you did the best sell of a series I've ever seen, for 1 through 5 of course. DD2 is insanely underrated. maybe one of the most enjoyable grinds, and an insanely fun baal fight

"D2" is such a strange entry to me. Mainly in that despite getting the platinum for it, it feels like the one entry in the series that I barely understand. For instance, I mostly ignored Rasetsu since I wasn't really understanding some aspects of it. Did only a couple reincarnations of that, since it was recommended, before moving on. I kind of just did whatever until it seemed like I had a character strong enough and just finished everything else from there, cheesing the 4 Pringer Z battle with the Broken Cellphone and Lollipop. Nowhere near having optimal innocents, equipment, reincarnations, aptitudes, etc. Honestly, I have no idea how I managed to actually get the platinum when I was so underprepared. Anyway, if nothing else, I do wish the Book weapon type would get reintroduced. Sure, it wasn't anything special and regular elemental spells ultimately were just better...but it was something new and gave Int-based skills more variety. Really, the series is long overdue for more weapon types in general. That and maybe reintroducing the Monster Mounting mechanic as well. Sure, it mostly was just a magichange replacement but it still had some unique aspects. Like how the movement stat is based on the mounted monster unit or how they act as an HP shield for their rider. Just keep both it and magichange for more variety and nutty tactics. Oh well, we've got nether now at this point. 17:23 ("...and thankfully, 'Disgaea D2' retains the Cheat Shop") Incredibly minor nitpick that doesn't ultimately matter...but "D2" was where the Cheat Shop originated from. It was retroactively added into all versions of "4" after the original, similar to how magichange originated from "3" but was added into future versions of "2".

Technically it got ported to PS4/5 and PC thanks to PSplus making it playable through cloud streaming

D2 is so much fun but I'm scared of playing it on my PS3. It has overheating issues, people even meme that using fire spells makes your PS3 overheat but it's somewhat true. I bought the physical version a decade ago and whenever I'd take the disc out after playing and my PS3 would be really hot, like an unsafe amount of hot.

@@BAIGAMING I had never heard this before about the game but I did definitely notice my PS3 getting hot which worried me as well. thankfully it’s still going strong. should probably get a USB to back up my saves though…

Iirc The issue is one of the Fire spells, I THINK Omega Fire but it's been years, could be wrong, starts a duplicate loading of its animation that hangs. Repeat usage creates extra instances of the duplicate load attempt, and they aren't ever terminated by the game. I don't remember if it was ever fixed, but given that the final game has some crash to dashboard bugs still there, I assume it is. The "fix" is every so often, to do a hard reset of the console, to terminate the hanging loads, and avoid using fire spells to grind. (Notably, the grind stage has guys weak to fire, sooooo... use Star I guess?)
