I added charcoal to the mix after watching your video. It made such a massive difference👍

I recently bought an Ooni Karu 12 G. Other videos just use hardwood charcoal, let it burn for a solid 20 minutes sealed up, add more, let it sit for about another 10 minutes, sealed up with vents open. Get your pizza ready at about 30 minutes. Throw a couple pieces of oak in to kick up the heat last minute and launch your pizza. Usually takes about 30-35 minutes with less poking and only added oak wood at the end. Either way... seems you can expect to wait 30 minutes for things to get hot enough.

Yep - about that, but also depends on your climate too and wind levels but adding a combo of wood and charcoal straight off is going to get the oven hotter quicker imo.

I think I might get one. My oven only gets to about 300 C. I have to cook pizzas about three-four minutes, and I know I’m losing some of that sauft and crunchy in the same time flavor.

This gets to 500c so will do that for you - but also check out the Ninja Woodfire and Koda 16 as they are great high heat ovens. 🔥🍕⚡️

Hello - about how many pieces of kindling do you use per cook? Thanks.
@Got2EatPizza Жыл бұрын
Hi! I’ve never counted but it must be about x20 good sized kindling pieces per cook if I am using no real wood logs and that includes heating up and the kindling I add just before the cook for the flames. That may sound a lot but I use about 6 criss-crossed to start up the oven fire 🔥. With larger logs that number is halved. 🪵

it looked like you loaded using a timber peel and unloaded using a metal one? Why was that?
@Got2EatPizza Жыл бұрын
Hi - yes - I always use this wooden peel to launch as it’s easy and lightweight to use, with fine semolina , the pizza glides off it with small little movements on the launch (I wouldn’t use anything else!) then for the turning, I use a lightweight metal perforated peel as that works best for me too! 🍕🔥
