Loved the concept of creating a masterpiece. I often get frustrated with changes to my plan but need to stop and recognize God is at work.

I'm going to rewatch this video from time to time, as it could help remind me to offer little acts of penance everyday
@kristinalumpkin18262 жыл бұрын
Good Morning. I wanted to say "thank you" for everything. Yalls videos are a blessing to me. God has answered my prayers through your videos. There have been things I have not thought about in my struggles. I am 31 years old with 5 beautiful children and I have my wonderful husband. I've been struggling to get up in the mornings. I have an illness called Fibromyalgia. I have had it for 4 years. It makes me hurt and tired all the time. I always feel like I'm not doing enough and my illness gets in the way. I do my best everyday as a stay at home mom and homeschooler. I have been so discouraged as a mother and a wife. I continue to serve my family, but sometimes I feel alone. I watched yalls video on pride and humility yesterday morning. Your video found me after I had prayed to God about being humble and having no pride. This morning I prayed to God about how I feel with my tiredness and not feeling like I'm doing enough....Then your video on penance found me. God answered my prayers twice! Keep up the good work my catholic family! Yall are helping me so much as well as others.

“God your will be done” is the practice that I try to do in every second of my life. Having a a chronic pain is quite irritating but it makes me closer to Jesus.

I am preparing for my exams, and I've snoozed that alarm a million times. After waking up late, I am in panic and guilt. Janelle sent the arrow straight and held onto the grace to change. Penance penance penance; "keep to the task and make sure the first act of the day isn't a selfish one"

Could really use some encouragement with not giving in to the kids and disciplining them in a way that God would “approve of”! I’m a single mother now, and I really struggle with this. I appreciate you both. You’re a blessing in my life!

It's wonderful to hear the words of Father Francis and then your everyday experiences and ideas. It brings it to the level of our daily lives. So funny Janelle, I will remember and remind myself to sit and not complain abt the 'squeaky chair' 😆

So- I came back to this today and finally had time to sit in Adoration with our LORD and truly “take this in.” I love it all- I have all types of “bells and whistles “ going off about all of the opportunities He is giving me each day to gain graces for myself and the world. That said…. What stands out the most is the moment you both share over Cauliflower Rice. Although I am in agreement with Ken on this issue…. The good natured fun you both have over this makes me smile inside and out.

I live in a retirement community so, when you talked about being patient with someone who (e.g.,) is asking a stupid question, I know I can do penance by being kind with a senior citizen who is not as sharp as s/he used to be.

Well, as many kids and ages I bet their are in your family i would bet flames roar up all the time; hence the door call for advice. Yes, I am impure marble, but Jesus is slowly carving out his image in me. I don't see it, or speak like it but when I look back I can see his progress.

Janelle I ordered that book the Rule of Life after you spoke about it in one of the other videos. Idk what’s wrong with me but I’m having such a hard time making the time to read it!!! And the thing is I have been praying 🙏 for peace in my home. I have to make myself. I have been better at waking up very early and I do make time for prayer and I’ve been going to Mass through the week at least 3 times. I’m expecting and it’s been so hard to not hit that snooze button!!!

Once again a great video, thank you!!! A great prayer I use as a daily examen to see how I have responded to the everyday pin pricks and opportunities to serve others that occur during my daily duties/work (and also to beg the Lord for the graces I so desperately need to respond to others with love) is from St Faustina's diary entry #163. Check it out when you get a chance.

That picture for my future was just to get married and have kids, but God’s done everything short of killing me to make sure that I know He's said No with extreme prejudice. I’m still figuring what else to do with a life I've lost interest in…

But what if my reason for setting my alarm clock is for it to ring 5 minutes earlier than the time I'm actually suppose to get up. It allows me a couple of minutes to get myself up without being rushed. :)

So in other words.....What you are saying is, if I were to sit down to eat my dinner and it doesn't seem hot enough to me I can or should just go ahead and eat it and offer it to God as a penance?

We are not saying you should. We are saying you can, if you are looking for opportunities to do penance. What you describe could be an opportunity.
