Thanku as always for ALL your videos which are most helpful. A couple of days ago I failed my mock test due to speed at roundabouts and making silly mistakes. The minute the mock test was over I returned to normal safe driving, so I'd say my nerves took over. So frustrating!

Roundabouts are my favourite type of junction as they allow for every type of turn. Every approach is bound to give way so everyone needs to look out for each other. It's a democratic junction, if I couldn't put it any other way.

Before I sold my motorcycle, I used to love roundabouts. I know its different from a car, just its the way the bike leans around as you turn, but it's also cool sticking inbetween the lines as a little challenge.

Great video, I'm supervising my partner at the moment with lots of practice sessions. We had a two lane, right turn roundabout last night and the car behind was determined to get past at any cost and did so by undertaking us on the roundabout itself, despite us indicating left after the penultimate exit. Thankfully my partner saw what was happening in her left and centre mirrors and slowed down enough to let the foolish idiot achieve her goal. We've reviewed the situation at length and realise that we did everything correctly. The key thing was that we didn't cut her up and force her to brake, even though she was clearly in the wrong. Such idiots who see the 'L' plate and rather than be accommodating, decide they must pass.

Awesome video! I've a few questions: 1. At the beginning you checked your mirror when stopping at the red light, what were you looking for? 2. You said if you can't exit safely, don't do the maneuver, do you keep going round till it's safe then? What if it's a really busy roundabout and there are always cars in the way? 3. As you demonstrated at the end, there is no strict rule about what lane leads you where. Now if you're at a roundabout you don't know, the markings are only at the end of the road and you don't see them because of the cars in front of you, how do you decide which lane to take? What do you do if you realise too late you made the wrong choice?

Thanks 1: Any danger behind us such as a cyclist or biker squeezing past. 2: It is very unusual to have your exit blocked like that, just do whatever is safest. 3: We always stick with the default lane choice as shown in the Highway Code, but if we get stuck in the wrong lane somehow just take the detour!

Your video production quality is the best, thank you. Why do the road marking 30:55 show straight only arrows in both lanes? Isn't it confusing if you want to, say, turn left?

We agree it could be clearer, but if you think about it we always use the left lane to turn left and the right lane to turn right - so it’s only the straight ahead we really need to be told about.
