I've always appreciated Dawning for being a background event. Aside from setting up the elements in your loadout to get certain ingredients during the early section where you're following a quest, you mainly just play as you normally would, and occasionally bake some cookies. I prefer that system in general over most other events, since they tend to demand your attention and feel like way more of a grind.

Would you consider this a good opportunity to get bright dust with the cookies? Get the repeatable bounties, make the cookies it tells you, turn in bounties, and then repeat until out of mats then make a big loop delivering cookies to people. It's my main source for bright dust, especially during this event. Was wondering if you thought it was good

It's def a decent bright dust haul. Nothing major but each bounty adds up.

Ehh, not the best. Did the math to get 6000 bright dust… It would take you roughly 12-16 hours of active gameplay to farm enough essence and other material. You’re better off driving Uber or delivering DoorDash for about an hour. That’ll net you enough cash (with extra) to buy the armor set out right with silver.

RE: the Shadowkeep mission (In the Deep), it's also available on some weeks as the weekly campaign mission on the moon, so even those who've completed the campaign on all characters can do it without having to delete one.

The glaive while a reskin does look pretty nice BUT why isn’t it stasis. it’s a snowy holiday event, we got a new weapon, and it’s arc like come on we could’ve had the triple glaive meta. That’s a big miss. Also wish they learned from the haunted momento and let us carry multiple cause it is a limited time event for a rare drop like bad rng for raid weapons makes it a pain, personally the momento might work better as a shader cause you can’t put the dawning momento on the dawning weapons

The glaive not being stasis is a miss but they know exactly what they are doing with mementos. They do it that way very specifically to inflate playtime during the holiday events without having to make any meaningful changes to events. That's why stuff like crimson days and srl haven't come back yet despite how simple they are.

Probably because people have been asking for a stasis glaive for awhile, and if they put it in a limited time event people will be upset. Although Zephyr is the only stasis sword so I could be wrong

If anyone was looking for a good farm for cookie items. I found a pretty efficient one. I've been doing the break neck mission checkpoint using a solar lmg. You get vex milk for killing Vex, you get bullet spray ingredients for using a full auto weapons and you also get impossible heat for solar kills. Theres two cookies that use those ingredients which is "telemetry tapioca" and "infitnite forest cake". If you do this on the break neck mission, youre able to get all three ingredients at once while also having unlimited heavy. Its a really quick farm too if you have incandescent on a solar lmg. Its pretty nuts if anyone wants to try it.

The lost sector farm was awesome. We had an arc warlock, banner of war Titan, and peregrine greaves void Titan. We were consistently getting 1.05 min runs and you got so many cores and prisms

Lightfall's mission Breakneck is my goto for farming kills. As long as you don't kill the wyvern you can kill 50+ vex in a close quarters environment, get killed, respawn, rally to a flag, repeat.

Load times for CP swapping on dungeons have gotten so good btw, kudos to bungie for this. A few season back when they found those “bad network nodes” and pulled them made a huge change (around spire of the watcher era).

Another good one to farm is in the Malfeasance quest. You can farm the shadow thrall that spawn on the staircase. I still have the quest for one of my characters.

I’m not sure of the efficacy of this versus other methods, but the GoA dungeon is also a great place to farm ingredients. Especially ones that need hive kills. The “loot cave”, when you first spawn in, has infinitely spawning enemies. 🙃

I've found the vexcalibur mission in edz works well too. Infinite vex spawn, they come in manageable waves if you wanna get your precision kills, finishers, etc. and you get a rally checkpoint.

With the 'The Deep' mission, you can have it if you havent done it on one of your other characters, so if like most people you cant be bothered to do the campaign 3 times you should be good.

Doesn't make sense. Putting something that would be really popular and first of it's kind in a limited time event. To get a 5/5 glaive, you have to play the event a lot / need a lot of spirit and some people might be gone over the holidays or simply don't want to bake cookies.

But it's perfectly fine for the first stasis glaive to be introduced in an event and then have another one come later as a seasonal item or something. It'd be free anyway. And this isn't too different from how we had the first strand bow release with the new dungeon that's locked behind a paywall.

With the golgoroth maze method, don’t have a special weapon equipped. If you do, ammo will drop on kills and if too much unused special and heavy bricks stay on the ground you can get anteater error coded and kicked to orbit. Just have double primary and occasionally pick up and dump the heavy bricks that spawn.

Yep, I use the "Budget Shadowkeep" or "Shadowkeep at home" spot every year. For people like myself who don't have friends, or don't want to delve into the world of checkpoints, or just wanna farm alone, AND want to actively run around and play, this is a great spot. I use the cave for a lot of things actually - occasionally still do, but it used to be my go-to for weapon leveling until they introduced weapon level costs.

My friend & I were trying to get ingredients for the cookies for saint-14 & failsafe mission & we were doing the proper kills for vex milk & the one ingredient for solar kills (forgot the name) none of the ingredients were dropped for us. Did this happen to anyone else?

Cross, I give you props for enjoying this event. However, im sure nowhere in the stats does it say "yes bungie, we want glaives". I was hoping that getting closer to the end that at the very least they'd change up a bit...not asking too much. They tried with IB, good or bad, but they tried...this is more of the same...of the same. Absolutely nothing different. Hell, nothing even special about the weapons (keep in mind everyone is already farming the latest weapons that are craftable)...so this event is a hard pass for me. No they mean the old ship that provides bonuses during dawning. It was a special ship that had essence boosts and customizable “trails”

This isn't optimal and some people will flat out refuse to do it. But if you have the willpower, Gambit. Just for this week. Double rep=Fast engrams to focus into Breaknecks, a variety of enemies for ingredients and a chunk of essence and cores after each match. Multiple things, one source.

Sadly I'm just at around 2500 bright dust and I will save it for the dragon ship and sparrow. So if I'm not able to generate enough bright dust for both and the armor I'll ditch the armor.

Doing the seasonal challenges easily gets you to 12k (for two sets) without any effort, playing casually. So that's just a wrong statement.

@@lanycera I know what you mean, but since I have no idea when the two dragon themed items come for bright dust and if I have then enough time to finish the seasonal challenges or if at that specific time even are enough seasonal challenges available is an issue. And to say that over the whole season 12k are available is kinda missing the point because the stuff isn't available for bright dust over the whole season but only for one wee (for the dragon themes stuff) and now about 3 weeks for the event armor.

Same here. I noticed it when the Oven pinnacle unlocked right away for me, and there are no Strand ingredients. It is odd when Variks and Fynch both got cookies for themselves in the years their expansions launched. This year, we lost Amanda and her cookie is gone. That said, I am uncertain how much of Neomuna is accessible for free to play players (seasonal events are accessible to them).

I was going through the same thing, but I did finally get 1 to drop, but I baked the 3 cookies to deliver to Saint, Failsafe and banshee but it wont let me deliver them, when I visit the vendor the normal screen pops up with no cookies to deliver. I dont know if this is a bug or if Im doing something wrong but just makes me not wanna play, spending hours to get ingredients only to not be able to deliver the cookies.
