now why didn't you put in the coin value per badge of the crates which is kinda the whole point of getting the best value out of badges. .092 for purple and .071 for blue. which goes to show that statistically the best bang for your buck will always be to open a purple crate and sell the item. that being said this is also the best way of powering up for new players as if you are prepared when you open the crate you can reroll the result quite cheaply the first time to get a higher price item or more importantly a purple that you actually want to use as you then dont need to deduct the 10% market fee. after a while of playing crossout this will also be a good source for getting items for fusion. lets face it if you havent fused your seal you arent making the most of crossout lol

blue is .0719, better than scrap but worse than batteries on week 0. purple is .0927 with a 60% chance to get up to .121, which is by FAR the best deal. and in this case, saving to sell purple crates is always the best rate and the safest route.

might be better to save up more engineer badges to get an item more worth per engineer badge than the resources to craft items. it does make sense since people need to have many more things to craft them, even having weapons of some kind to craft a rarer weapon. there is little difference in getting things faster because you have more effective eqiupment, so just save up for the epic container and don't let the overexcitement of your next upgrade on your vehicle make you buy the resources with less engineer badges required. you still can up your game by having a fuel barrel to give you an extra 0.25$ worth of fuel if you managed to survive, or 0.5$ with a fuel tank managing to survive. after 100 matches with your vehicle intact, you do get a 50$ from the fuel tank. if you make your very long use of the fuel tank after grinding a lot, you could probably profit with it. if you place your fuel barrel in a spot where it can't really affect your vehicle from blowing up, or hide it so it rarely even gets destroyed, i do see some use from it, and being more desperate to survive since you have a fuel bonus if you do, makes you play even better probably.
@TCS233 жыл бұрын
Winning missions with both fuel containers intact is the primary goal imo. Without that fuel you are really losing money when you play Raids to earn Engineer Badges.

Great research, keep up the good work. But now that you’ve mapped out the fundamentals, just use CrossoutDB if you’re on PC for up-to-date values and what is currently most profitable, it does the math for you. It might be a valuable thing to do a video about for newer players actually, if you haven’t spent the time doing the math like you did, the CrossoutDB can be somewhat hard to understand. It is very much worth learning how to use though.

That's what the chart is supposed to tell you. Generally speaking, it's better to sell the crate items than resources exchange items. Occasionally Electronics will sell for more but it depends on what the market values are for that time period.

Good guide, but you made a little mistake with the purple box. The Thunderbolt shotgun has also a bigger price, than the container itself, but you count as a cheaper item. So the result is 64% of the items are better than the container. It's almost 2/3 ratio, and if you opened something cheap around 200 credits, you can reroll for 1000 scrap (about 35 credits) at the firs time (the second and the third rerolls are 2000 and 3000 scraps, so try to avoid to reroll that much). All in all I highly recommend to open the containers.
@TCS233 жыл бұрын
You're right, good catch on the Thunderbolt! The reality is that market prices are always fluctuating, so this guide is not meant to be the final say in market values or probability. It's more of a reference to go by and to show players (especially on console) a method for calculating the numbers. Thanks for pointing out the reroll option as well! I'm just glad I didn't call this the "PERFECT GUIDE". 😂

Just a nitpick here but when opening a crate what you're interested in isn't the chance to get a higher value item but the average price of all items included in the chests. Example: A chest is worth 300c, 15 of the items are worth 50c and 10 of them are worth 800c. After all market fees applied. The chance of getting a higher price item is: 10 / 25 = 0.4 = 40% so according to what was said in the video, selling the box directly would be better. What you're interested in however is the expected value of opening a box which is: (15 * 50c + 10 * 800c) / 25 = 350c so opening the box ON AVERAGE will give you more value even if the chance of getting a higher value item is lower than 50% These numbers are just an example and are pretty extreme I'm aware but I hope it proves my point. The chance of getting a higher value item is purely an indicator of risk. The expected value goes both ways, swap some numbers around and you get an outcome where the chance of getting a higher value item is more than 50% but the expected value is lower than the boxes actual price. As an addition, you can even factor in the cost of rerolling your chest outcome for scrap (IIRC that's a thing) into the expected value but my brain is too small for that I'm afraid. This might only be relevant if there appear outliers in the crates at some point that are far above or below the average. Other than that, thanks A LOT for the video, great work. Just thought this very minor nitpick is worth noting and looking at the prices it will only slightly affect the outcome anyways but might be important later in the lifetime of crossout.

It is so easy to just sit down and play the game winning scrap metal whether you win or lose and then you can sell it. Then save enough money can buy the pieces that you really want instead of building all the pieces that you have to craft in order to craft the final thing

Shouldn't you be using expected earnings instead of probability of a profit? What if the potential profit is low and the potential loss high. Eg you have a 60% to profit between 10 and 25 coins and a 40% to lose 30-100 coins. Expected earnings should account for that. PS. Do you have a discord server? I'd really want to join it

your maths on the purple crate is off it doesn't account for how much profit or loss selling an item gives you if you have 90% chance to make 1 gold and 10% chance to lose 20, you'll lose money, even if you mostly make profits maybe averaging the items would give a better representation? EDIT: you make an average of 19 gold on the purple crate if you average all the parts youcan get from it, opening the crate will probably give you about 20 coins more than selling it
