Hey Jake! Great content, as usual. I love when you do your tech videos so I can see what's new and changing, and might help us to spread the gospel using the most effective means possible. I know you love the theology behind the worship and tech ministries. Have you gotten the chance to check out "Producing Worship - A Theology of Church Technical Arts" by Josiah Way? I just started reading it and it is a really amazing look into why we do what we do using technology in churches today.

Hi Jake and all. I noticed from your church website that your services start at 10am. So this means you darken the room so that you can use the lighting as described in this video? I'm interested in thinking about natural light on a Sunday morning versus darkening to use lights. Thoughts?

Hey1. Great Video!! I was wondering if you can use MOTU Midi interfaces instead of iConnect?

Do you need a Mac for all of this?

Thanks Jake. Any change you have done a detail video or have a link to how to set up a Presonus Studiolive 32S iii (or similar mixer) to use with Wave Plugins in a live mix setting? I am guessing it has to do with USB routing, but have not wrapped my head around it.

I would like to see on budget solution to lyrics automation. FYI the communication module for PP6 is only available on Mac. In our country Mac is six times more expensive than a win machine.
@heliportpoe5 жыл бұрын
You still can use the automation from ableton to propresenter without the midi module. I just do testing all setup in windows environment , first i use rtpMidi in both pc to send midi through network then in propresenter pc i use midikey2key software to translating midi to keystroke, so like im sending C notes from ableton then in propresenter side i capture the C note and map it as maybe ctrl+-> (next background) but you have to make sure propresenter is in active window not minimized . Midikey2key and rtpmidi is a free software
@OndiiiCZ5 жыл бұрын
heliportpoe but that's a lot limited to normal midi remote. The thing with "it has to be on top" is solvable (just pass the keystrokes to an app directly) but you won't be able to select " item no 4 slide no 2" from the playlist. So whenever there is a difference in a playlist (someone missed a slide, band repeated a chorus one more time etc...) the whole "automation" thing becomes a huge distraction.
@TroyNahrwold5 жыл бұрын
@@heliportpoe I believe you can get the full communications module for pp6 on pc, which would do midi plus 50 other things, but it's much more expensive... Like $400 or so.

Great vid! Question: if ableton is being ran from the tech booth how do they know that you want to be spontaneous (repeat bridge, back to verse, etc)? We want to move our ableton laptop to the booth but we think we need someone following along with an IEM to be ready for spontaneous moments.
@Churchfront5 жыл бұрын
Our primary ableton project with tracks is run from the stage by our keyboard player. The project running on our tech booth laptop is simply a remote control for the one on stage.

iConnectivity devices work on PC as well. There are apps you can use like this one to setup a virtual midi session on PC: www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/rtpmidi.html

@@justreba26 We use LoopBe1 www.nerds.de/en/loopbe1.html on our Windows 10 Ableton computer to do the stop sets he shows in his tutorials. It's free for non commercial use. You could also use it to route between programs if you're running it all from one computer.
