About Glutonny's performance in Genesis 8. In a french documentary about the french dimension, he stated he couldn't win against Leo unless he was at 110% of his capacities and Leo wasn't at 100%. It shows how strong Leo was in 2022

I get that both player and character-wise Tweeks bracket has some historically tough match ups, but as a top 10 player in the world I think he should be expected to win regardless. Goblin shouldn’t be beating Tweek, and Tweek is far better than Onin and Yaura (even factoring in Steve and Samus). Being able to overcome adversity is what separates top tier players from the rest, so hopefully Tweek doesn’t fold. We’ll see though

The Marss vs Leo set was what made me go from just playing casually to following tournaments and the competitive scene, S/O Alpharad for tweeting about this set specifically, helped me find competitive smash AND realize that sets like this were happening in my region

Yeah that whole tournament was sick. Marss was just the best player in the world that day and the level those two and many others played at is in my opinion the actual shift in Ultimate's history across the edge towards the kind of smash we play today. I think of pre-pandemic smash as kind of rudimentary compared to today and G7 imo was that line

About Leffen's Ultimate career, he beat WaDi & Seagull Joe at Genesis, got 17th at SSC 2019 with wins on Salem & Maister as well as 9th at Ultimate Summit 2 by way of sending fucking Tweek out at last, while also nabbing a win at a probably-should've-been C tier over Mr.R twice & would've made top 50 if not for the would be C tier missing out on that status on the entrant based TTS by just 2 entrants

It was no accident. the king of New York consistently got 9th in two super majors in Japan and won the cafeteria cup in that same region. The opponents that zomba lost to in the first and third tournament he entered was toriguri who breaks the limits of banjo kazooie, doramigi who has beaten acola more than once and got second place in the next tournament acola competed in, yaura who beat spargo 3-0 in kagiribi the one spargo won from losers and has a win on acola in the early days of acolas career, and finally hurt the best snake player in the world the same one who defeated acola in the first set at Delta 5 grands from losers and has a w on miya from that tournament. All of these people are some of japans finest players which forshadowed his win at genesis. Although the cafeteria cup was a b tier tournament it showed he could beat japans best players. Some of the players who lost that tournament were asimo who has won game 5 against acola senra the worlds potential best jigglypuff and Atelier who best gluto 3-0 and defeated neo the same player who will get 5th at the than future genesis x. Once zomba came back to the us he won two tournaments from losers. Destroying jackal in grand finals. And defeated Syrups Steve from losers bracket which shows acola must bring his a game if he wants to beat zomba again. By extension it shows that zomba is a Steve slayer just like Marss when he enters local tournaments with other Steve’s not named acola. My question is how will acola fare against a new stronger version of zomba?

As a marss fan, I'm biased, but G7 grand finals is still my favorite set to just sit down and watch. Both players dancing around each other with highly mobile characters and making layers of reads just mesmerizes me. It's also the set I show people when I introduce them to the idea of a smash bros competitive scene to give them an idea of the pace the game can be played at. Side note, the montage editing is fantastic, especially love the music for the G7 set
