I love Kirby. His issues are so obvious but his normals are so satisfying to just smack people with. I just wish he had functional specials. Hammer is unnecessary in every single way. He already has a "strong powerful ungabunga" move in his smash attacks which are some of the strongest attacks in the game.

Why use the He/him for Corrin when everyone, EVERYONE uses female Corrin.

This is the same game series where people thought Yoshi was bad in both 64 and Melee for over a decade. In a game with more viable characters than players with the skill to win majors, where top reps of many characters don't go to out of region tournaments, where there are so many characters with gimmicks and unconventional movesets, and where there are too many matchups for any one player to know them all the meta will always be an incomplete picture of what game balance is. People could easily stick to this game for another 5-10 years and the meta will keep evolving because the game has ridiculous breadth and respectable depth.

Corrin was my main in smash 4. I stopped using him consistently due to the changes they made to him in ultimate (up special no longer carries his momentum for example). Perhaps I’ll give him another try

it's clear that the mid-level players are getting carried, which is why you see steve all over the locals scenes and the top 128 level of play, because that's where fragile egos go to fight tooth and nail for petty claims to prestige like "third highest placing representative of this character (since the top 2 spots are unreachable because they're godlike top players)" or "the best X main in a particular city." people with such petty goals will gladly start playing a character who's not actually playing smash because they are so focused on the thrill of the W that they don't care about the love of the game. but the top-level players usually want to actually play smash instead of steve's hell of a game. that's why most steve mains are so young, they don't actually have a history with smash as long as veteran top players who've been playing since possibly even the 64 days, but usually at least since brawl. so you don't see as much top level representation because the character just isn't a smash character, he's doing his own thing and people who are top player material are largely people who've played smash for a long time and built up a lot of skills. of course you're always gonna get people who are prodigies or people who like steve and like actual smash characters equally and are glad to make the switch to such a broken character, but these cases are rare.

Characters like Zomba are important to keep a competitive scene alive. If everyone is a good guy the stakes get lower and people lose interest over time unless the gameplay itself is really engaging

Fun fact, I had the privilege to cast the set at 13:48 between JeJa and Jared. Cascadia Clash 2023 was a super fun event, and I'm happy to have gone, but what I need y'all to understand if you never saw that tournament is that he placed 2nd at that tournament, making it to Grand Finals on Winner's side. He only lost to two players in the entire event: Mr. E in Grands and Grands Reset, and Major in Pools. Major, the Ganondorf player. Cascadia was a weird ass tournament.

Jejajeja didn’t use up tilt dair loops previously because it is way too hard on any of the other characters he faced. It only works consistently on a handful of characters, after all.
