For enterprise level java is recommended as it is secured, scalable and microservices makes it so easy to maintain but for MERN and MEAN stack is good used at small scale and development cost is low for these but salary perspective java is good.

Make sure you enevr lose your way to Frontend...like most of your peers will go with Stack dev or Front end coding..but stick to Java...after basics spend most of your time on algorithms..thats your fun part...Graphs path traversal,minimum costs, Optimum yet efficient solutions and many more....and try their applications knowHow on java environment

The only thing to add according to experience in this is any one front end technology such as Angular, React Js etc. As these are the basic requirements of a Java Developer for securing higher level packages. This is optional but also required in Industry Otherwise a great way to learn Java Development.

As a fresher, after spending 3-4 months learning springboot I cant find any internship to gain some experience, so now i am being to forced to switch to mern stack bcs all java openings require experience. There are plenty of mern stack internships but none for java/springboot .
