In Part 2 of my Ultimate Jaws Filming Locations Tour, I'll take you on a tour of the remaining filming locations of the 1975 Steven Spielberg blockbuster JAWS and numerous behind the scenes deep cuts. If you like behind the scenes info and deep cuts, I hope you enjoy these additional features! The location tour includes some harder to get to locations rarely seen, and concludes with the exclusive beach seen at the very end of the film as the credits roll. NOT an easy place to get to! I had the time of my life visiting these locations and bringing them to you by making this video in honor of the film and its ingenious filmmakers. I hope you enjoy it!

And finally, last but not least, extra special thanks to my friend, travel companion and co-star in a few scenes, William Dickey of Billy’s Spot Shots! It was a Jaw-some time!

Oh WOW...tribute to the cast & crew! Teared up... cos I was thinking of Billy. I love Billy like my Dad. Your vid where the crew stayed helped me placed him there 50 yrs ago. Hell not one film location vids covered 50% of what you showed us. The city hall floor plan in Pt 1 ( which I can't even tell from entrance to exit) I didn't care, I enjoyed it. Then there was the Hooper Rock!! Good Lord! How your brain thinks for fans!! YES! I want to see that damn rock. That was my highlight. If you follow my comments in PT 1. Here's another from Billy. Spielberg wanted a certain rare antiquated harpoon for Quint. Billy said he can find one but not 2. You always need a backup..standard procedure for Prop Dept. Billy suggested to get something, anything that has a backup also. Spielberg was adamant. On the day Robert Shaw drop the harpoon in the water and the undercurrent took it away. Lol...The relationship between Billy and Spielberg became cautious. When Roy Scheider asked Dreyfuss to stand at the bow so he can take photo with shark, that camera personally belongs to Spielberg. Spielberg was firm in getting a camera like his so Billy said this time" Great let's use yours" lol The person standing left to Scheider at 26:22 is Michael Chapman. Steven credits in the absence of Stedicam, Chapman was the hero in operating all the steady camera work on the surface of the water. Chapman was also the camera operator on both The Godfathers. And he himself became the cinematographer you may have heard The Raging Bull? Thank you Mary for doing this. I've only known the location from the 1974 movie but to see it thru your camera in 2024 is surreal and wonderment. The cast & crew of this movie appreciates your recognition for their input as well

Jaws/Originally published February 1974... So the 1973 scouting date has to be wrong.

Numerous sources I studied while doing my research confirmed that Joe’s trip was in December 1963, including this article, and the Ultimate Jaws Filming Locations Guide I referenced. The second link below also confirms the December 1973 timeframe and states that Spielberg acquired the film rights before the book was released. So my statement about Joe’s trip in December 1973 is correct and explains how production could have already been in full swing by the time the book came out. vineyardgazette.com/news/2023/12/07/50-years-ago-jaws-came-vineyard-after-canceled-nantucket-ferry sandrahutchinson.com/2023/09/05/when-they-filmed-jaws-on-marthas-vineyard/
