This is so perfectly timed! I just found out about the Kindle ColorSoft and thought that might be a good option for me when I replace my Basic. I think it would be perfect for the magazines I get through my Libby app. Also, thanks (I think) for telling me about the dust plugs - this may be a new obsession. Have a great week!

Wonderful video. I’m a Kindle fanatic. As for the Scribe, I don’t use the notebook features but love reading on it. I think of it as the equivalent of reading a hardcover book without the heft. Usually I read the Scribe in bed and my Paperwhite on the go. However if I was forced to choose just one, I’d go with the Paperwhite.

As a happy Kindle Scribe owner, I can’t knock anyone for passing on the new Scribe due to price. I got the original Kindle Scribe when it was on sale for $280, and even that was pushing it tbh. Now granted, I LOVE the Kindle Scribe. I use it every day, and it is a very important part of my daily flow. I use it as a daily planner, scratch paper for math (I’m a student), and as a personal journal. Honestly, it has worked better for me than physical notebooks and journals ever did. So I really enjoy it but - again - I didn’t have to pay $400. In my opinion, $400 is over priced for most people given what you’re getting out of it. And then Amazon wants you to get their foo foo magnetic folio case for another $60 - $100 on top of it. Oh Nah lol. If the Scribe is of interest to anyone, I recommend getting the original one at a cheaper price rather than this new one and then shopping around for a cheaper case you’d like. But that’s just me.

​@@bymyrapfrom what Ive researched online the new scribe has all the same hardware inside, is even the same dimensions. The only difference is in the external aesthetic and the new colors. There's some software stuff they're featuring in marketing for the new scribe that will likely also come the first scribe in the form of a software update anyway. I am looking forward to the new premium pen option because of its eraser function but that's also compatible with the original scribe. 😂 I honestly think Amazon should have just left the scribe out for this round of releases because they did not genuinely make the device better or different and the original is excellent

@@bymyrap Personally, I don't feel like the new Scribe is a huge upgrade from the original Scribe. Hardware wise, I hear the specs are basically the same, and then the software changes are said to be coming soon to the original Scribe as well. The changes are mostly in the white bezel on the new Scribe that are supposed to make the screen look bigger. So overall, I think the original Scribe is a perfectly suitable choice for those interested. The new one isn't super necessary imo. I think it'd be cool if they made some more pens of different colors though in addition to the green one they're going to release. Like I'm imagining a nice ruby red, or rose gold, or purple - little things like that would be appreciated lol
