GS and LS main here! With the upcoming return of Black Diablos, I'm hoping to craft a Focus - Partbreaker combo build comprising of: - Black Diablos Helmet - Pukei Chest (or Pink Rathian mail) - Black Diablos Vambraces - Diablos Waist - Jyuratodus Greaves This gives, if my math is right, Focus 4 and Partbreaker 3, and my theory is that with the GS's huge damage potential it will break and stagger monsters. Hopefully RNGesus is on my side and I get some sweet item drops to get the Black Diablos pieces to Level 6! 😃

I've just started, and I'm working on your part breaker build because I play with my husband, who is currently using the bone crusher gl while he builds materials for the elemental gunlances. Gl is his preferred weapon, but we were wondering if that is a smart combo for us and what armor he should be using with the gl. We are brand new to the mhn and Monster Hunter period. @@PauwerPlays The jump from 7-stars to 8-stars is very obvious. Largely because they sort of put you between a rock and a hard place. Overgrading at that point requires Rarity 6 materials, but to get Rarity 6 mats, you need to… take down 8-stars 😅. Found myself exclusively searching and hunting for 8-star Jagras for a few days.

Okay, I get the part about perfect dodges being risky, and you showed why, but for those charge attacks from monsters try dodging backwards, so you can roll towards the monster and get the hit, instead of dodging those attacks left/right and coming out of the perfect dodge too far away.

I'm using almost this exact build, only difference is barroth chest. Offensive Guard will help you push past the 8*, and I still end up with a KO almost every fight. It doesn't look as cool though...

Ice for damage but not a lot of monsters in mhnow is weak against ice. I prefer status cos i can use it for all monsters haha

Because in theory both paralysis and ice work for Diabolos, so I am in dilemma which weapon to build specifically for Diabolos

It’s decent. Most of the time u will fighting the timer since this build has no damage due to no affinity/element. If u are hunting with other hunters, u will definitely make it easier though. So probably not a good set to solo since u might not do enough damage to kill the monster

I have the same idea with Girros Hammer. When the black diablos event returns ill be getting the helmet for lvl5 part break. The idea is to stun, paralyze, and part break stagger everything! 😂

me my wife n daughter use girros knife in our hunts...the stun lock is no joke, really makes hunts easier...pink rathian was so tough when we were using electric, tried gk just to experiment and it was so easy...save pots save money lol

I use girros hammer alot too. I have soo many complimentary builds for it and of course... Slugger 3 and pb3 is nice on my builds with it.... the only thing I try to practice now since I've seen what happens with Para pair with these skills... is to hit a part of the monster you haven't been attacking already ( like when it's Paralyzed don't hit the part that's about to break) I've noticed as soon as me and wife Paralyze something we break a face and it ends the animation. Paralyzed animation once triggered gives 10% to all players raw. Hope this helps yall like its helped me

I was kinda running through the mhnow.quest to check some things out. Idk what you have for gear but i just made a girros sns build i might aim toward now. Its a combo of the vid plus what some other comments have said. And to make it the easiest to gear each piece of the set almost comes from a different monster. Girros sns/rathalos helm/Gjagras chest/rathian gloves/girros coil/diablos legs. At all g6 which you dont have to fully do for girros coil(but if you do its a nice little bonus). Will give you lv2 attack, lv 2 rising tide, lv2 slugger, lv2 earplugs,lv2 burst, lv1 paralysis,lv1 partbreak, and lock on. For black diablos event this gives you similar KO power, increased paralysis buildup, increase to breaking parts, and all around more damage+ defense because of combo of attack+burst+rising tide(RT gives a big boost twice in a battle to both attack and defence. Then, lastly, you can begin attacking again before the diablos roar is over giving you an advantage because diablos is guaranteed to roar at least once per hunt.

So ive learned this build has been nerfed right when the nerf came out and casual grinded my way to guard lv 5 and realized they have changed it to still give chip damage but its only one hp... more testing for the different levels of guard needed

Two things to your SnS guide I wish you could exploit. 1)Your build is good but if you can use a bow... you can use the gyro feature and I highly recommend getting used to playing with it as if you get accustomed to it you definitely find no need whatsoever for "lock on skill " 2) when you block an attack practice only tapping once for the lunge towards the monster BUT DON'T TAP FOR THE RISING SLASH AFTER.... pair it with gyro function(top right of a hunt) the initial hit gets you closer on in the the fight and doing soo can eliminate need for block 3. Block 2 knocks you back some but that first attack after the block is nice paired with lvl 2 focus as you can charge the first initial hit. I only use the first attack unless there's a K.O Something else to point out. When a monster is in Paralyzed state HUNTERS GET A 10% ATTACK BUFFER to raw during this Paralyzed animation. Hope this gives SnS users more ideas

Wow! What is the difference between Guard and Offensive Guard?

Guard lessens the knock back and chip damage when blocking monster attacks. Offensive Guard increases your attack power for 10seconds after blocking a monster attack just before you get hit (like perfect dodge but by blocking attacks). Hope this helps!

You get the round house slash follow up after blocking an attack and the attack must not knock you back. If the attack knocks you back, the follow up becomes the rising slash. Hope this helps!

You can still guard attacks without the guard skill but it will knock you back and deal chip damage

Hmmm… i thought when you break parts and they go stun for a bit was consider KO lmao. I’m confuse hahah. And are you using girros(mylady) for every single monster? Isn’t that hard??? I have 4 weapons I mainly use to hunt each certain monster. Jagras 7 5/5 for water weakness monster Lightning nemesis 2 (thunder edge7) for thunder weakness monster Flaming blitz + blazing rifle + blazing bow - depending on my mood lmao for fire monster Snow blitz for killing diablo. Started using this instead of girros because it’s much safer and easier it seems. Because I can set either to reload speed 3 points + recoil 3 points when I’m using the bow gun. Both my girros and blooming knifes are at level5. I stop upgrading them because the one I just named is all I need to kill all the mobs at 7stars monster aka 2 purple stars. And I never used guard or offensive guard before. I didn’t like the fact it still makes me lose HP. But it seems at 3 points your pretty much not taking any damage at all haha. But I’m glad I start using it when I started. Because now my dodging is on point. And each of my elements attacks boost points are from 2-4points. (In the process of making my water attack 5points atm) Do you use discord? Maybe we can share info and tips and screenshots of our builds and what not haha. Currently HR76. Only money I’ve spent so far is expanding my inventory to 7000 haha

Ooh by the way, people seem to believe we can only break parts 2 drops from each monster hunt. But that’s the lie, I believe we can break part as many as the monster allow us. Kula is 2 though. But for example if they have right wing left wing tail head. Then that’ll be four that you can break. The most Ive been able to break is 3.

KO status is when the monster gets knock to the ground with stars on its head haha! I dont have much trouble using the girros sword and shield as long as its weapon grade is on par with the monsters difficulty level. It gets difficult at times especially against 7 star diablos and rathalos but it still does the job and i get to save zennys by not crafting for every elemental weakness haha! Yeah i do use discord! Small attacks like bites, headbutts and body slams can easily be blocked with guard 3. Special attacks like running charge moves, rathian's tail attack, diablos attacks with its horns, rathalos fireball and feet stomps will knock you back with chip damage. Hope this helps :)

You have to not get knocked back to do the round house follow up. If you get knocked back, you get the rising slash follow up

Havent unlocked 8 star monsters yet. My rule of thumb that has been working is to have the same grade of weapon when facing difficult monsters (grade 8 weapon 💥 8 star monster)

I always using . Level 4 devine blessing and girros sword and shield tho . With kulu head, legiana body and paolumu hand . When i get hit , my health just decrease 5 or 10 with my full healt 110 . I use rathian boots to get extra health . Its fun becouse we can practice to perfect dodge without afraid loosing health

SnS guard skill debate is like LBG reload speed skill debate. Perfect evade is a thing, but going comfy isn't wrong either. There are LBG who can live without reload speed skill, there's also SnS who can live without guard skill. I'm the gang who prefer SnS comfy, and also working on my Barroth arms (it stuck on g5-5 for very long...the rng just refuse to give me the mats)

well if 4-point poison is all you need, focus on Pukei Coil grade 6 and Rathian Mail Grade 6.....yeah I know it's a heavy investment, you can also make it 5 by investing in Rathian Helm.....it's also grade 6

I like this build and I get the fun in it. Grinding for grade 6 materials gets old pretty quick especially because they never drop. So this allows for building something and having more fun hunting everything but 8* monsters

This is an absolute lie I'm on 8 star monsters with my girros sns and I've not made a single elemental weapon. I have so much zenny and parts that I can now finally start elemental builds I would have struggled to get here at this point if I was building elemental armor and weapons

Paralyze hammer is better for this fun build. I would recommend offensive defense for s&s. This shield attacks after guard will produce more damage with offensive defense.
