You can actualy controle the units by presing right click i dunno it shows u what to press when the battle is loading in and i havent played in a long time so i might be wrong about the right click i hope you read this comment Drew Durnil and sometime try like controling the units its fun.

I think, just like in WW2, mines weren't meant to be used. Of course, they were used and blew up some stuff, but they were used more as a obstacle. Mines can force troops into killing zones or such, or just block off a area. Just a tip Daddy Drew 😉.
