The community aspect of this event has made my heart feel so full watching this. With all that we have been through recently, watching people get together and support the local community through pies and meals supporting the local fire department. Along with the cheer coming from everyone riding and on the side lines brings a smile to my face to see positive, active and happy people supporting a fun event in our country.

Thank you SO very much for this. My best friend and I flew from New Jersey to ride in RAGBRAI in 1999. Sadly, he has passed away, and for that reason and many more, RAGBRAI is one of my most wonderful life experiences. I'll always treasure it. I can't tell you how many happy memories this video awakened. My favorite town was Cherokee, but, as you and others so accurately noted, "IOWA NICE" was alive and well all over the state in '99, and appears to still be going strong. SO many nice Iowans give so much of themselves to make RAGBRAI one of the stellar cycling events in the world. We met the original Mr. Pork Chop, ate a lot of that corn, met riders from Australia, Spain, and all over the US, and we drank more beer than we ever had before or since. Like you, we rode west to east and dipped the back tires of our bikes in the Missouri River before leaving on the first day, and dipped the front tires in the Mississippi River when arriving at our destination town. Long live RAGBRAI and the kind and generous people of Iowa who help make it happen! And of course, I'm happy you two have now had this great experience!

As one of those who recommended Ragbrai to you several months ago, I'm happy to see that you took the plunge and were able to experience one of the most interesting athletic/cultural events in my home state. For anyone else now intrigued, Ragbrai is one of the best ways to see Iowa and its people/their generosity in my humble opinion. Watching ~15,000 people from all over the country (and from different parts of the world) invade the small towns along the route each day during the ride is a sight to behold. And, yes, you'll also get to see and eat all of the corn you can handle along the way. :-)

I’m seriously loving these adventure videos so much! I started watching all your videos from the beginning during lockdown in Sydney Australia (3 months in) and are now up to watching the new ones and they are really motivating me to start planning an adventure once we can travel again! Thank you Kara & Nate ❤️❤️

So, two quick observations here (okay, three): 1) Super fun video never heard of Ragbrai, so that was pretty cool. 2) A nice suspension seat-post/s would have made a world of difference. 3) Lastly, a larger seat would also eased up on the pain and made life more enjoyable too... You get those last two and you are golden. Great job on the ride!

I'm an Iowa native now living on the west coast. Not gonna lie, I teared up watching you guys have such a good time! The state has done some not so great stuff lately so it's good to see that 'Iowa nice' is still a thing.

Why? Fill me in please. I’m from Minnesota, and it’s not as great as it used to be here in the Twin Cities. Shootings and carjackings are a regular occurrence here now.

I love that you got to experience RAGBRAI! I am originally from Iowa but now live on the East coast and can’t get back every year for it. I’ve done 6. It’s such a fun time. My husband now loves it too. I don’t think we could manage a tandem. But it might have been nice on the first RAGBRAI we did because he ditched me everyday. He saw it as a race. I was so mad. Later he figure out that the whole day is an adventure. It’s not just the night stop. PS I have a coffee “water bottle “ that I put Starbucks instant coffee in every am. That later becomes the Gatorade bottle. My other bottle is only water. I’m so happy you got to immerse yourselves in Iowa thru this wonderful event.
