Michael Jordan has so many great seasons. But this one was his revenge season, after losing to the Magics in the semi finals in 95. He came back stronger than ever. NBA MVP, scoring title, all-star, all-star game MVP, All-NBA first team, first team defense, NBA champ, FMVP. That's truly insane lol, no player has yet to accomplish all of that in one single season and he did it again during the 97-98 season age 35.
@allanhouston6759

In the 1997 and 1998 Playoffs, Michael Jordan carried Chicago Bulls on his back. Dennis Rodman was already old, he was 35, 36 years old. He was very good in 1996. But in the 1997 and 1998 Playoffs, he was very ineffective. 1997 Playoffs: *Dennis Rodman ( age 36 )=4-ppg. FG-37%. 8-Rebounds per game.* *Scotte Pippen ( age 31 )=19-ppg. FG-41%. 7-Rebounds per game.* 1998 Playoffs: *Dennis Rodman ( age 37 )=5-ppg. FG-37%. 12-Rebounds per game.* *Scotte Pippen ( age 32 )=17-ppg. FG-41%. 7-Rebounds per game.*

@@allanhouston6759 Yeah he shot 37% on only 4.3FGAs in 1997 and only 5.0FGAs in 1998 so it didn't hurt the team much at all. He could have rebounded better in 1997 eventhough he still rebounded really well, just not for his standards. But Rodman's main contributions throughout his career were his rebounding and defense and he provided both of those things in the 1997 and especially 1998 playoffs.

@@justsayin669Stop it. In 1997 and 1998 RODMAN was not an elite Defender. He was old, he was 35, 36 years old. In the Playoffs, he could no longer average 15-RPG. 1997 Playoffs: *RODMAN=8-RPG.* 1998 Playoffs: *RODMAN=12-RPG.* In his Prime, RODMAN was an effective scorer. Prime RODMAN played vs MJ.
@justsayin669
@justsayin669 3 жыл бұрын
@@allanhouston6759 He was no longer in his prime in 1997 or 1998, but Rodman was still a great defender and the best rebounder in the league (Rodman won the rebounding titles in 1996-97 with 16.1rpg and 1997-98 with 15.0rpg). 12rpg in the playoffs is still elite whether it's 15rpg or not.

Yes, everyone has their own opinion, but for me I think Prime Jordan was in 90-91, his first championship run... no one can stop him from winning the championship at that time, His desire to win surpasses other players in the league... HE WAS UNSTOPPABLE AT THAT YEAR,, Even Jordan once admitted and always tried to make 91 his peak year.. after joking with kobe at dinner he said "my year in 91, versus your peak, i will kick your ass", It shows that he always believed that his year in 91 was really his prime year... even Phil himself agreed that Jordan in 91 was something else.. @ThreeCreators “not a great shot blocker” LOOOOOOL. only guard in NBA history to record 200 steals and 100 blocks in the same season, one of only 3 players to accomplish that feat and he did it twice. “not a great rebounder” I don’t see how 6.3 rebounds in a career as a guard isn’t a great feat but ok. only valid thing you said was 3 pointers and even then, it didn’t effect his game in the slightest because he barely took them. In 1990, MJ took 3 attempts a game from 3 and shot 38%. he shot terrific from 3 in the 1992 NBA Finals. he showed the ability to be able to shoot 3s but the mid range was his game. that’s all. hardly a flaw. @@shaqsburner7983 I always find this argument funny. People always want to say this as if Jordan played a bunch of scrubs, didn't play in the most physical era especially compared to today's game and had a team full of superstars that Lebron has had on numerous occasions/was by far the favorite and still lost etc. This narrative is tired because Michael only had Scottie for the most part against teams full of HOF(as well as against players where today's aren't even close to being built like, Alonzo, Karl Malone, Shaq, Anthony Mason etc etc). Where Lebron, even if we take every other time he lost in the Finals to humor ya'll. There is no defense for the Miami loss's in the Finals, where like I said, that was basically an All Star team. They lost to the underdog Mavs basically to Dirk and the old Spurs. Naw bruh, ya'll really need to let that go. There is no need for me to get into everything else.

@@clipperssuck2450 Sigh, why do most people on KZbin need things spoon fed to them. Bruh, the conversation was not about the amount of years it took to get their rings throughout their career as a whole. It was simply that between Lebron & Jordan.Jordan was far more consistent(again, 2 3 peats) with his championships, there wasn’t a huge gap between them. The Bulls basically dominated the whole decade of the 90’s. Jordan not needing to go from team to team, needing superstars like Lebron, I digress. So I’m going to end this with what I told another person where if you aren’t one, was a Lebron fan. If y’all would actually educate yourselves and read what people say instead of looking at everything from a general perspective or hate. You might finally get it where most are coming from.

The dribble pull-up is the best weapon for a quick athletic player. Defenders are so worried about getting blown by that they tend to give up so much space and retreat too much off a jab step or one hard attacking dribble that you end up with so much space. In most of MJs highlights especially when he was younger, the majority of his pull up J's weren't even contested.

Jordan's greatest physical asset which doesn't get talked about enough was his huge hands. Sure, lots of players calm palm a ball but nobody was as flippant with it as him. He had the perfect grip and palm and finger placement which allowed him to have more control of the ball than any player not named Doctor J. If you look at Kobe's footwork, Wade's slashing ability, or Bron's athleticism, they could version do every MJ could do on the ground but once MJ got in the air his hands allowed him to use the ball similar to a paintbrush and he just used the air as a canvas to create artistry that Doctor J or no other player could match. On the defensive end, his hands were so strong that if you had the ball anywhere near him he was going to block it, strip it, or steal it. This get's me to his second-best asset his defensive IQ. His timing on that end was impeccable. It was as if the ball was inflated with blood and MJ was a great white shark. Long before Kawhi, he was the Klaw! What's crazy is that his hands are actually bigger than Kawhi's!

I have seen a video where Phil Jackson was asked who is the better player between Kobe and MJ and Phil said the difference is Michael has the big hands which gives him much more level of control with the ball (something along those lines) - it definetly has been talked about, but yes a very valid point

Yep jordan has huge mits. Everyone talks about kawhi but jordan has even bigger hands than kawhi. Guy was a freak. 4.3 40 yard dash. 45-48 inch vertical. 6-7 biggest hands ever.,insanely quick.
