Here is my ultimate modified Harbor Freight Tool Cart Tour of 2021. I have modified this tool cart many times and I finally think I have found my best setup. I have modified this Harbor Freight Tool Cart in every which way possible - I modified the top lid, under the lid, the sides, the back, and much more - utilizing this tool cart to its greatest ability...so far.
This setup is effective and efficient and can take care of 90% of my weekend DIYer needs when working on my car or tasks around the house, all in a tiny footprint. Additionally, this Harbor Freight Tool Cart serves me as a mobile bench in the garage as well.
I have divided up the links for tools on my Harbor Freight Tool Cart to reference which side of the tool cart items were placed. If I couldn't find the exact make/model of the tool, that I referenced in my Harbor Freight Tool Cart, then I linked a comparable or similar product.
As an Amazon Associate member, I do receive a small commission if you use my link. No added expense to you and you help support the channel. Thank you!

There’s a difference between an actual mechanic that has his tool cart for work and home. These are not bad ideas for home but NOT work cause most the time you’ll find that stuff that isn’t inside will end up missing. The top is the most efficient for a mechanic because it’s easier to get sockets out rather then opening and closing drawers every time you need a socket. You’ll almost see every mechanic have there sockets in the top versus drawers. But that’s just me what do I know, I’m just a heavy Equipment mechanic and have been for 30 years now.

No doubt, this is purposeful and I hope I made that clear that the purpose of this cart is for at home. Totally with you, can absolutely see the lid staying open with sockets there and inefficient to put them in the drawer. Thank you for checking out the video my friend.

So well organized with everything you need and more importantly nothing you don't. Mine has become the island of lost tools with so many wayward sockets and other incomplete sets. This gives me some inspiration to do better. Thanks.

I really like how yours is set up with the extra hooks and magnets on the outside. I got mine and immediately put a bunch of decals on but I think after seeing yours so clean I’ll take my stickers off and just put extra badges from cars I’ve had over the years

Have the same box in blue, I'm really just a young guy that does everything himself because I can't/won't pay someone else, I do my own oil changes all the way up to swapping engine gaskets , radiators motor mounts fuel pumps, front end work and more extensive stuff. I'm a maintenance tech at a commercial truck center and he's I mainly just do lubricants, oil, grease joints and top off fluids, they do have me do batteries and fuel filters and stuff like that. They also allow me to use the shop and lift and I've gotten a lot done then being in hot/cold ass dirt road alleyway.

Cool mods, love the Lodesol mats. DIN 5260-PH/ISO 8763-1 specs are for Japanese drivers, in catalogs you'll see them as, for example, "+2" or "-0.7". They are sometimes specced as, for example, "PH.2" or "P.2" or etc, and sometimes described as "JIS plus" or "beyond JIS" because JIS is no longer current spec for *drivers*. Asian screws & bolts are mostly JIS spec. DIN/ISO drivers fit Phillips screws much better than Phillips divers and fit perfectly in JIS screws. I've gone to all Vessel drivers and Vessel or Anex bits, all made to the DIN/ISO specs.

It’s probably been said but it’s JIS, not Pozi that you need for Japanese vehicles. That Vessel set does include a Pozi 2+3 bit though, so can understand the confusion

i think the biggest problem with this style of box is murphys law no matter what you are working on if you are using the top of the box you will need something from under the lid and if you keep nothing under there then its wasted space.
