When I took mine apart so I could install the stabilizers, no matter how hard I tried I could not get the switch mat holes to line up properly. I tried for a really long time; and despite being on there out of the box, it just didnt seem the right size and no matter what I did I couldnt get both the left and right side pin holes to line up with the holes on the switch mat. It would just bunch up in the middle if I tried. I ended up just ditching it after seeing this video and so far, it seems fine and still sounds good. The Durock stabilizers I got seem to get all the way tight just fine, and so far it sounds good.

How do the stock stabilizers compare to aftermarket stabs, such as Durock V2?

Yeh pretty good. Very similar Durock V2. Not looked at them closely side by side, but very similar materials and quality. Nice clips which is always a win. Like V2's, the spacebar will need relubing or holee modding to keep rattle at bay.

i think i shocked my m3 pcb and idk where to get another one, one day i plugged in the keyboard and it doesn't work at all, my computer doesnt even recognise it

Not sure which one you mean? I build on a cutting mat with the squares. My desk has a big felt mat off Amazon, and my keyboard sits on a keebmat.

@@keebface But from what you said, it sounds like 1.6 mm stabilizers can be used when installing them over the switch pad (as the included stabs seem to be made for 1.6mm, so the switch pad is needed for them).

@@TheLabecki you're just really spacing them out. The correct way is to shim the stabs underneath the pcb so as you aren't lifting the stabilizers, but it doesn't make much difference in my experience. Use stab washers, shims, whatever works. Didn't I use the force break mod stickers on this build? That worked well.
