That thing's sweeter than my apartment! But being a 6 foot 6 inch person, I've never seen a van that I feel I could comfortably live in. My feet are always hanging out the end of the bed and I'm always having to stoop in those van conversions that I've been in. But waking up to a different view every day and riding straight out the door from where I'm living has always been the dream.
@petestone14772 жыл бұрын
I'm 6'5 and did a conversion in a Ford transit High roof. It's possible! You need to do a bit of extra work to minimize floor and ceiling thickness, but it's all doable. - check out the tour here kzbin.info/www/bejne/mGXZlHShhK-gr9k
@GOLDVIOLINbowofdeath2 жыл бұрын
I would think that as long as you can get dressed standing up or cook standing up or shower standing up inside the van that you would be happy so my solution of that in my build even though I’m not near as tall as you is a large operable skylight that also raises the ceiling height underneath it.

Only way to make it worth the cost is if it was strictly for business, like going to bike festivals and selling widgets or YouTubing full time. Then it’s a write off.
@GOLDVIOLINbowofdeath2 жыл бұрын
@@ffarmchicken Do you know what a write off is? It’s just a deduction like any other deduction deduction so if you’re in the 30% tax bracket and the deduction is allowed because you don’t use your van for a pleasure more than two weeks out of the year then you’ll save 30%, But you’ll have to spread that 30% deduction out over several years.

@RamblingsWithDan2 жыл бұрын
A dyno will not show any increased performance. That's not why people install snorkels.
@MidWestMTB2 жыл бұрын
@@RamblingsWithDan He literally says that the snorkel will show increased performance akin to a cold air intake in the video...hence my comment lol you just reworded my comment a replied to me with my same thoughts 😂
@RamblingsWithDan2 жыл бұрын
@@MidWestMTB I didn't hear anything like that in the video. He might have implied that it would as compared to dusty air clogging up your filter which is absolutely true. But that type of practical improvement will not show inside a stationary shop using a dyno. He just says it brings in cold air and keeps out dust. I didn't reword anything you said. I simply said a dyno will not show any improvement because the improvements only exist in practical use.
@MidWestMTB2 жыл бұрын
@@RamblingsWithDan 2:14 "so its gonna perform way better" 😂 the whole point of my comment is that it WILL NOT show increased performance on a dyno. You are also saying it will not show increased performance in a dyno...are you not? hahaha

@@MidWestMTB yes it will perform better. That is absolutely true. In various practical ways but you are assuming that it somehow means a power boost that will show in a dyno. Which is your false assumption and not what he is saying.

That one is over $250k. Maybe even $300k.
@thedalillama2 жыл бұрын
@@vandogtrailer6701 This seems about right based on my recent shopping experience. OP, you can buy a 144" 4x4 Sprinter from Thor (non-custom) and add $20k of upgrades for $145k total to get close to what's shown in the video. It's a little small though. The 170" wheelbase Sprinter in the video adds 40" of interior space (linear). This build uses most of that to enlarge the bed (likely to accommodate the bikes on the pullout tray) and upsizes the galley area, and the dining area up front to a lesser extent if at all. You can decide if that's worth the $100-150k premium over something you can drive off a dealer lot. Personally, I'd rather have a smaller bed in the back and more hangout/dining area in the front. I can't imagine using the driver's seat as part of a small convertible bed is comfortable. Does a van need a mattress wider than a queen? That seems odd.
