Regards the removal of Chlorine, in 1 litre of water it would take a very small amount of Sodium Thiosulphate to remove it. Probably the active ingredient of the Tpd30.

Good test , but slightly let down by not testing the second jug of tap water before adding PDF you were just assuming that the chlorine was the same as the first jug at 0.22 good video though 👍👏

@tonybarker428 would it have been any different 20 minutes later out of the tap?🤷‍♂️ I'm not sure to be honest, however it was only the first initial test and I've got a few more I can do and try to go a bit more in depth👍

I don’t think on the pond detox formula packaging it mentions removing chlorine. It does say tap water contamination but not chlorine. I do recommend it for removing metals. This is what is on the website. Airborne pollution / Tap water contamination / Heavy metals / Horticultural products / Plant toxins / Acid rain / Ammonia / Nitrite / Chemical overdose and general poor pond water conditions.

@AndrewFinch-h2v hi Andy, it doesn't say it on the label but Paula has said in the past that it would remove chlorine. 'anything that isn't H2O' is what was stated.

@@UpNorthKoiPond Hi Si well that is interesting then as I have never been told that regarding chlorine and would not sell it to remove chlorine as there are cheaper products on the market. But keep us informed on any other testing you do as I would like to test the product to remove metals and I can test for Iron and copper that I have in my supply so would be interested in getting some to test. ONLY WAY TO TEL IS TO DO TESTS ON METAL IN THE TAP WATER SEE WHIICH IS BEST FOR GET RID OF METALS AS I USE DETOX FOR COPPER AND ZINC AS IT IS HIGH IN MY WATER IF YOU COULD TEST FOR METAL AND COMPARE THE RESULTS THEN WOULD BE GOOD IDEA

Therein lies the problem with tap water chlorine mate. It varies from day to day. I've generally got quite low chlorine (certainly 0.1 and way below), but i do get odd days where it's spiked above 0.25.

Yeah it certainly does. It doesn't drastically change during the week, but weekends can be a little higher and even higher still after ground works

@Littlenickskoipond as in what the manufacturers specify do you mean? Or what I dosed at? Based on what I dosed at, which was a level scoop of each, PDF was actually overdosed if you go by the guidelines on the label of 2TBS per 1000gal. More tests to be done yet though👍

@Littlenickskoipond PDF still does what it says it does, but it may need more than the dose on the label as the dosage is only a guideline and not a set dose due to all bodies of water having different contamination levels. Like I said though, still more tests to be carried out on both, I've used PDF myself for sometime too.

Cheers Busy, I've used PDF for some time too with great positive results. But as the saying goes, there's always something around the corner waiting to take the top spot. So we'll have to see how the product develops and how it does in other tests
