Today we are doing a Tier list of all the Positive Traits in Project Zomboid. This project almost BROKE my PC so I hope you enjoy it!

A huge tip if you don't already know, traits like graceful can be something you don't need, when you want to jump a short fence/object as you sprint towards the fence stop sprinting just before you're about to jump & manually jump it with E, by manually jumping you will never trip over a fence again, I hope I explained that well enough

There were tests done on Lucky trait recently. It does increase the drop of valuable tools some, but you can get by without it just fine. What is more noticeable - it greatly increases the drop rates of high end ammo. So if you dream of going LV blasting with your trusty M16, consider getting the trait

I've also noticed that it affects the organized trait in solo due to spawning objects having more space to roll! I've noticed bags are not only bigger but have more things in them. Also I've noticed more random zombies, like cops and dead survivors. It's been the most fun world I've ever played in!

Lucky doesn't affect world events at all, my first spawn was in the middle of 7 zombies 😂, best laugh I've ever had. Top that off with the water going out on day 2 when I picked High Thirst on the Traits. Lucky definitely burned up on the loot aspect!

For anyone curious, there are mods like standardized exp gain that make things like maintenance, nimble, sneaking, etc, all level at a reasonable rate. Pair that with a mod that adds skill books for all skills and you're golden

I think the realism in the skill gains to be tedious but accurate. Go poke a tree with a stick a few times, maybe make a spear and really try out the best you can make and how long it'll take to make the best later

Tbh the keen senses trait *can* be circumvented by good situational awareness, but I think you take it anyways, because its a good last line of defense for when you've been caught slipping, as opposed to learning this while they're politely tapping you on your shoulder

My go to traits I ALWAYS pick and are like in every build of mine: -Gymnast -Keen hearing -Outdoorsman -brawler or baseball player -Stout or strong -fit or atlethic -organized Ones I often pick but also switch out for whatever I am feeling. I still pick these but I also pick others. also depending on my proffesion and points: -Hunter -Hiker -Herbalist (I have had a few times where RNG sucked and I looked in 8 book stores/school before finding it, so even tho its a waste of points I have gotten stuck before and it took a very long time) -Amateur machanic -Nutritionist combined with Cook -dextrous -cats eyes I Do always pick a lot of negatives so these block the positives, my negatives that I almost always take -Unlucky (you cant pick on multiplayer/co op. Not when I have heavy foraging build) -Slow reader (not on multiplayer/co op) -smoker -thin skinned -slow healer -Prone to illness -weak stomach -high thirst -underweight -short sighted (not when I have a heavy foraging build) -Conspicuous I do play co op with friends so that has lead me to experiment with other traits and occupations. Also I sometimes just add like 10 bonus trait points. if I am going to play with sprinters or something crazy with mods or high zombie pop I like to give myself more bonus trait points.

Outdoorsman? S tier???? It's situational, for sure. It's absolutely worthless if you gear up like normal, use "walk to" to avoid getting scratched from bushes, and the like. That said, some folks simply won't gear up for winter. And if you have sprinters enabled, or something like that, you'll be forced to run through bushes from time to time, in which case it's a great trait. But for standard Apoc??? Only if you're doing a niche play style. I've done dozens of runs that go through first winter. Getting through first winter is usually my win condition. I haven't caught a cold in forever, and even if I did, colds can't kill you. The involuntary sneezing doesn't matter so long as you're clearing zeds regularly. The Lucky trait will be great if you're going for specific builds. It changes the loot tables all around and enables things like turning hand axes into Fireman's axes on zombies, upgrading backpacks to larger backpacks, and things like that. I'd never recommend it as a priority pick, in any case, but just figured it should be known that it does. Also, it was discovered that Keen Hearing's drawn perception radius is fake, proven by counting frames and comparing them. The zombies spawn in at exactly the same distance and at the same speed. We ALL were imagining that it was helping us. It's an F tier trait unless they fix this. Adrenaline Junkie is S tier with sprinters enabled, but yeah, on normal play it's trash.

You know why I freaking LOVED this video? It's so simple, but you are the first one who does it. You actually WROTE the traits in your tiers instead of just placing the icons there. Whenever I watch a video like this, I like to to take a screenshot at the end and save it either to myself or to share with my friends that also play the game. But guess what? I HAVEN'T MEMORIZES 60+ ÍCONS! I'm an adult working man who plays with friends online once a week, and I neither will nor want to memorize all ícons of Project Zomboid traits. I've been trying to get better at the game but every single tutorial just uses the icons and so is basically useless to share with my bros. Thank you for taking the time to make that little extra effort, it really helped!

I adamantly take lucky every time. The amount of times I frustratingly couldn't find a simple tool or a box of nails is incredible. Ever since I started talking lucky I consistently find everything I need in one town. Including rare vehicle spawns I found 2 tire change events one block away from each other a jeep and a Corvette with the keys and guess what a block away from those a construction crew with a sledge hammer chilling on the ground.

Speed Demon is a great perk. The best argument ive heard against it was something like "I keep slamming into shit and getting myself killed so i never take speed demon anymore". Essentially "Im terrible at videogames so this perk is bad" 😂

I type this a lot but, 70% to 85% players have a really hard time driving in this game. I personally I don't know why.

There seems to be some RNG on the Lucky trait. Sometimes I notice no difference and sometimes it's pure comedy how many Axes, Crowbars and Generators I find!

@7:41 about Light Eater, because of the existence of the other food mechanic, calories intake, you have to eat proper amounts of food regardless of the hunger meter. Which in my book makes Light Eater an F tier, and the negative trait Hearty Appetite an S tier.

Keen hearing is one of my favs just so I don’t have to stare at the screen 100% of the time, you get enough time to react after being distracted by sumthing else, I tend to look away when doing mechanics or tailoring at times

Cats eyes is a better option for multiplayer servers where sleep isn’t even possible. You have 24 hours to use and so cats eyes really helps. I’m curious how lucky works on multiplayer, like I assume everyone on the server is lucky, especially if they are in an area with you?

I've noticed that Inconspicuous and Conspicuous only really work in one or two scenarios: the zombie is facing away to the side of you, so you're in their peripheral vision, and/or you're inside/ the line of sight is obscured. WIth conspicuous you will get spotted through the window much more than with inconspicuous, even by zombies that are just passing by the window/doors. But that would be it, that's the entire use of these two.

Pet-Peeve announcement- not trying to be an ass, I swear. “Verse” is a term used to refer to a specific piece of text or lyric “Versus” is the term you’re looking for- pertaining to direct conflict between two parties. “Them v. You” = “Them versus You” ≠ “Them verse You”

when surviving sprinters. You're stat goals should be to reach lvl 3 or 4 sprinting (lvl4 lets you run faster than the sprinters with a bag on and you can run your stamina 3/4 downs ) lvl 3 nimble lvl 6 - 7-8-9 Fitness. @lvl 6 you get the fit trait lvl 9 you get the Althletic trait which make's your stamina regen really fast. especially as your sleep meter raises. lvl 5 in weapon skill you like so getting a boost to your chosen weapon is circuital. lvl 10 melee skill is better than having lvl 10 strength by fare. It's also easier to reach lvl 10 for a weapon) I have a video Hour and a Half video showing off the traits i used to fight a very high population of sprinters. (In melee combat) at the end of the video I pushed off 2 sprinters while over encumbered =D

Honestly when I'm on a server I tend to pick slow reader anyways, cuz I don't like going out at night I replace sleeping with reading all night. And I can just put my character to reading while people are at the base or I'm locked behind several doors and I can go do any chore I want without worrying about my character just sitting there doing nothing, he ain't finishing that book this night.

I'd kind of like to see your negative traits tier list, because a lot of these are weird to me. Fast healer, thick skinned, low thirst are all things that are MASSIVE point costs because I normally take the negatives. As one example, I normally play with high thirst so low thirst essentially costs 12 points. 12! That is an absolutely huge point investment for an incredibly niche trait.

I did a negative traits video but its more of a guide around what they are and how you could potentially counteract them, as opposed to a tierlist. It's hard to put negatives into a tierlist because everyone has different preferences with them ! :)

Lucky is actually the most efficient buff for foraging you can get, anything that goes over 0.1 vision per perk point is above average, and lucky gives 1 vision for 4 points! It's amazing for foragers. Eagle eyed is another most bang for your buck trait for foragers, as it also gives 1 vision range for 6 points this time, again great for foragers

Naw the lightfooted on Gymnast is actually good. It is sound-based stealth, and without the bonus exp, you'd likely never get high levels which caps out at -80% _running_ /walking/sneaking sounds. It's at least worth ~1-2 trait points imo.

Actually using Gymnast and negative perk Conspicuous seems a great way to sneak off after accidentally drawing too much attention!

Start build, few skills, and its all about the best abilities. Fireman(str and sta for low points); fast learner, cats eyes, outdoorsman, dexterous, brave, organized, gymnast, athletic, stout. Makes 8 strength and 9 stamina. Might only have boosts to nimble, axe, sprinting, but you can fight in any weather, for a long time, and carry tons. Negatives, are the norm, thin skin, underweight, close sighted, prone to illness, weak stomach, conspicuous. TV shows will get you to level 4 carpentry, finding a car with keys is to easy, wield an axe, and go to town.

Get a Composter started, if you use it as a door block you can protect one of your weak spots with a sturdy structure and start making Fertilizer for your Crops with the stale or rotten food!

Amateur mechanic with tinkerer allows you to Hotwire cars without requiring burglar, which together is only 10 points. Amateur mechanic is a better choice than the mechanic occupation as the 2 extra points mechanic gives doesn’t really matter when you start with 2 and have a 100% exp boost. I’m pretty sure mechanic is 12 points as well although I could be wrong. Also amateur mechanic solves the problem of reading if you take illiterate.

Thick skinned has saved me so many times, because no matter how good I am at the game... nobody is perfect, for example... one time my cat was bothering me while playing leading to a zombie "biting" me... but it ended up just being just a scratch because of thick skinned + my leather jacket

I pick light eater in most of my playthroughs because I'm always on the run , i never find or stay at home , unless i need to sleep for 1 night , but it honestly depends if i like a base i would clear the area to make it my home but it rarely happens lol. But i also hate getting hungry every 3 seconds (Especially with the hearty of appetite trait) so its a solid choice for me. Idk if i should change the way i play or no lol
