So for the story behind the small railroad leading to the field: The Jorgensen's were an entrepreneuring sort and using some of the profits from their wheat farms commissioned a small railroad track (about 2 kilometers) and a bought a push car in the hopes of expanding their business, unfortunately for them it did not pan out.

Those water stations (the big building in a lake) are really REALLY valuable tiles becuase you can run both rail lines and rivers into them so they're the only way for the two things to cross.

This is my after work wind down game. I usually play a session at the end of each time. I admittedly always start out trying for a high score, but end up going for something that looks more interesting and pleasing. Side note (because at least at the 30 min mark of the video I don't think it is called out. That building surrounded by water is a water train station. It lets you connect both water and rails. REALLY can help you out with placements. I found that out by accident and it really can prolong your game and get you out of jams. (Not a back seating comment - but just to make it easier for new players)

Also, because of a comment made while placing tracks. - if the game lets you place a tile, that means there are other tiles that can connect to it. It won't let you place a tile that no other tile can attach to. Those tiles can be infrequent/rare, but exist

Forrests never have exact goals, I think because the entities are so small it'd be a pain if you had to count each tree. The houses and fields are easier to track since they're larger, and of course rivers and rail lines it's just the number of connected tiles.
