But you have to be real careful on thin rusted parts. If you’re not very careful with what you’re using as a blasting material, you can easily blow holes in the very thin rusted areas.

That was the coolest restoration ever!!! That was cool to see how well the evaporust worked on that metal! You should do that cracked metal texture with another restoration, using a really nice red of emerald green! That would look cool! I really enjoyed the video!

Oh one more thing, in the winter months use it with year and let it soak for 12-24 hours to get the best results plus it helps to remove as much rust as possible to make it last longer.

I had A lipo battery fire in my garage 6-7 years ago,not much fire damage but it got really hot in there and the fire dept. hosed everything down,and had a lot of smoke damage,to my hand tools ,Evaporust saved the day.I used it on all kinds of stuff ever since.I also have on of those ultrasonic cleaners,it works great.

I guess that goes to show that you don't have to use the sandblaster all the time for rust removal. I guess the heat from the ultrasonic cleaner mixed with the rust removing capabilities of Evapo-Rust really do come in handy. I like the cracked type powder coating. Unique. A couple of questions of course, when will you know when to use the blaster on a piece or Evaporust with the sonic appliance? Also, is there much difference to the surface of the piece after blasting compared to the sonic care? Very informative episode Tim.💖👍🍻✌

Depends what you are restoring. If it were tools, this method would work great, If I were restoring a toy truck that had a lot of the original paint left on it, I would of course need to use the blast cabinet. This method is less harsh on the metal though, sandblasting can leave the metal slightly roughed up on the surface. That works great when you are powder coating, but would not be ideal if you were going for a mirror finish on a hand plane.
