Had a quick look at the absolutely legit used goods emporium present on most high streets - if you're prepared to compromise on unboxed games, as boxes + manuals are now attracting a serious collectors premium, you can buy 5 out of 6 of these games for £88 + £15 delivery, of which £50 goes on a copy of Phantasy Star 2 😬 Still, good thing you didn't recommend PhS4, which starts at well over £100 quid. All the games are belters and excellent examples of the Mega Drive's capabilities tbf. No Madden (or NHLPA, or FIFA(!)) games listed, which I find quite odd. Presumably they got fed up of their shelves groaning under the weight of £0.50 cartridges they couldn't shift and just dumped the lot. If you want a bit more than one game for your £50 then the likes of Micro Machines 96, Desert Strike, Aladdin, Cannon Fodder and the aforementioned Sensible Soccer are all great Mega Drive games.

Not a football game guy, but I adore the hell out of World Cup Italia '90/Sega Championship Soccer. Best football game of all time in my opinion XD

Having recently binge-watched the Big Lez Show, i find so much comfort in that Aussie accent, Clarence Claymore style!

Excellent list! I would only make slight changes, Madden '94 (or NHL '94), Super Street Fighter II, and Phantasy Star IV.

Sega 6 Pack would be perfect for a starter collection. You get Sonic, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe and 3 others all in one go.

That's too easy. And I wanted to present people with options that gave them a nice looking collection starter on their gaming shelf.

@@81632bit that's fair. Well, my comment can be aimed at the gamer who is more inclined towards cost efficiency than at aesthetics. 🤣
