I don't know if you know but VW tested the Golf R with a 5 cylinder engine from the RS3 but Audi didn't wanted VW to build the Golf R with a 5 cylinder. So they put the 4 cylinder in it. Its sad that it never happened and here in Germany you can't swap the engine an drive. Or no you could but it would never be legal 😅 love the content guys, keep going!

Seriously?? I could have sworn, here in the USA, the Golf and other MK5/MK6 VW models come with the 2.5L 5-cylinder motor made by VW. I know it’s not the same motor as the RS3 5-cylinder, but it’s still an i-5! I own a 2.5L i-5 Mk6 Jetta SE and i love how it drives and handles. 170whp stock

Most VW models here in the states I’ve seen have the 2.0, or 1.8t 4-cylinder motors. I love my 2.5L i-5, i rarely see other cars with the same motor.

As the owner of a '12 5cyl Sportwagon w/ engine tune, GTI suspension, brake upgrade and performance tires......that wagon is like the best porn in the world to me. Wow! I gotta contact this company. Would love to see this motor swapped into a modern B9 a4/a5 chassis (yes I know it’s going from transverse to longitudinal) or even in a first gen manual R8 (yank the V8 out). This motor (especially the aluminium block EVO version) in an A5/S5 would be like a modern day UR Quattro with a rear biased AWD setup.
