Shout out from Southeast, Michigan. I am a teacher as well. I have been back and forth on both of these watches forever usually going towards for the Epix 2 Pro. I picked it up for $500 used on ebay about a year ago. The Ultra I am pretty sure i am going to sell at this point. Garmin just hits that sweet spot on giving me the data i care about.

I got both and I'm the same. I love the AWU but the epix pro is definitely better by a long shot. The software updates made the GPS amazingly accurate compared to the AWU.

Garmin UI 💩 slow and map rendering is awful. My AW ultra 2 nails it in this department. I think pepole that arent using the right apps wirh AW are missing out. Workoutoutdoor & Athlytic.

People don’t want to use apps that’s why they have a watch. I use Garmin to get away from those apps. It has everything I need built right into the watch. Apple is also obsessed with listening and tracking ppl which a lot of us are not a fan of either. I am taking 31 day battery life over 2 day battery life any day of the week. My Garmin instinct 2x has unlimited battery life in battery saver mode. That is what outdoor enthusiasts want. City folk can keep their AW lol 😂

@ nothing wrong with the apps. Also, instinct looks like a Casio calculator form the 80s 😂😂😂 Btw, I own an Epix gen 2 pro and guess what that goes out when I am hiking for days, but my AW ultra 2 is my daily driver.

be carefful , sappfire is not bumpproof , its scratch resistant , and on new garmins its not anymore the same quallity sappfire as on older garmin models like fenix5 or 6

Interesting I’ve had the fenix 5x w/ sapphire. I will keep an eye on it and do any update videos if needed

I have the FR955 and I have never had any issues with the gorilla glass. I am thinking about upgrading the Epix Gen 2 Pro, but I may get the standard edition with the gorilla glass instead of the sapphire.

@@rastaph not worth spend 100€$£ extra for sapphire , quallity of sapphire on latest models is not anymore as it was on fenix 5,6 ( old models ) lot of people on FB group scratched it because they bought saphire and thought dont need screen protector and it happenes anyway . And also standard ep pro is more black and nicer . I bought screen protectors on aliexpres for couple € , its not realy visible on screen and after 6month of using I dont have any scratch on protector , and I wear watch every day not in office but I am mechanic .

@@davidvitez1992 I don’t have a screen protector on my 955 and I have no scratches. I also do CrossFit so it gets banged around a lot. No issues with the gorilla glass.

I’ve had an ultra and an Epix. Get an Epix. I switched to the Ultra and the battery is really annoying. Also, the run splits on the Ultra are constantly off.
