One important aspect you missed out on was setting up your chair and desk at the right heights and distances, other than that it was an excellent guide (I realise this is borderline beyond the scope of what someone could reasonably expect, but it's a well thought out comprehensive guide in every other way so thought it was worth mentioning). This is very important too, thanks for the comment! I always try to keep my chair and desk height exactly the same for FPS games. In fact some pro CS teams will literally order the same tables and chairs that will be used at upcoming tournaments so that the team gets comfortable in that exact setup. Rob Rambo Kim talks about using a tape measure with his team to make sure everyone has the exact same heights on each part of their setup at practice vs tournaments!

@@psych_shock4370 I mean I just have an office chair and regular desk I got years back all I do is line up the chair's height so that my eyes are at reticle level because I don't wanna be looking down or up while playing. It's not really that hard to do or accomplish, and I don't think you have to buy a new chair or desk so long as your chair isn't a wooden chair or a beach chair and is adjustable.

Right now I'm focusing purely on balancing me learning PvP and farming for good PvE. I love both. So I'm trying to become good at pvp mainly and getting good weapons for pve. It's hard to do both. So I started to love gambit prime. I'm a pretty good console sniper. However, destiny snipers are a new feeling, and I love it. I have to relearn my accuracy, and after beyond light, I have to relearn it. I've been binge watching every single one of these pvp tips videos to try and improve myself even a little bit. To me, the main things I need to improve is my hand cannon aim. After that, I need to stop getting so damn salty and just start playing neutrally instead of stress fully. Me getting stressed usually leads to me changing weapon setups, and it fucks with my gameplay. Not fun. I'm going to improve. I'm determined to.

It takes a lot of time and practice. I'd recommend going through PvE zones and practicing your shots on them, going for headshots on each enemy while sliding, strafing, etc

Same. Until about the last two months, if I had a sniper in my hands, my nickname was pretty much mister-whiffy-pants. I took the time to measure their movement compared to the other weapons I often flick shoot with and discovered why I was always overshooting: The snipers *I* measured move ~6% further for the same mouse movement as a hand cannon or other primary weapon(or ~106% the movement of the other weapons I use). For a while I just started compensating keeping that in mind where I'd mentally prepare the flick and then eyeball what I figured was about 6% short and they'd pretty much always hit, but something kind of clicked a few months back and now they just hit. I still remember the first crucible game where I realized it had changed. The guy on the other team in that 3V3 was good. I even told my clanmate on discord "There is no possible way I can outshoot this guy". The very next round, I peeked the lane, panic flicked and somehow it connected. If it wasn't for the fact that we not only caught up, but won, I would have swore it was luck. It still feels like luck when they connect though. It's weird. :/

I wanted to add one thing when it comes to FPS. For muscle memory having a stable framerate is better than a framerate that varies a lot. A stable framerate means stable frame times (how many milliseconds it takes to render a frame) and a stable input lag/delay because the frame times are stable. For example, you could maybe get 180 FPS but sometimes/often it goes down to 140-150 FPS. In that situation the frame times will be quite different and so will the input lag/delay. In that situation a good thing to do would be to lock your framerate to 140 FPS for example. Using that the framerate will be more stable and so will the frame times and input lag/delay.

I agree with that entirely. At least for people who shoot the same way I do. I describe my own shooting as "fast and loose" and that means I pretty much rely on timing. When I flick, I usually click while still in motion when shooting a sniper. It doesn't take much to throw that off.

As a console player, I'm happy to say that these all worked pretty well. I agree with all of these, especially getting a feel for specific snipers. I personally prefer the Maxim IX, but you can't get it anymore because it was a faction rally exclusive. As for your PC tips, I don't play D2 on PC, but your tips worked pretty well for Team Fortress 2. Overall great video and I actually laughed a bit when the chaperone clips started playing because it really is just a short range sniper.

Just a point, GSYNC makes the game better. I tried all you said and GSYNC gives me an advantage. Set your frame cap 3 frames lower than cap and you will see a significant advantage over no sync.

If you play console, learning to play claw very well can be huge, crouching while in a gunfight, dodging out of lanes or into cover, sliding almost instantly, it's amazing! Edit: I've played claw for 5 years and I don't regret it, but it is rough on your finger(s) at first.

I pick overwatch as the game since it supposedly has the same sensitivity as D2. Then I multiply my hipfire by my ADS setting to get my sens (since I'm most interested in my ADS sens feeling accurate) So for example I'm currently at 800 DPI, 5 ingame, 0.8 ADS in Destiny, which translates to 4 Sens in Kovaaks using Overwatch as the game. I'm not sure if the math works out perfectly because ADS sens gets really really complicated going between different games and engines, but it's close enough to feel pretty good.

im not sure how good ifrostbolt is compared to other pvpers but he is the pvp player i watch most in d2 and occasionally when he slides while being shot at he looks straight down or something similar during the slide. is there a reason for that? like something to do with hitboxes or whats going on?

Great question, so there's a technique that works well in CS/CSGO to look down to hide your head hitbox. It works particularly well as an AWPer since you have a small break between your shots where you can look down to protect yourself. I haven't confirmed that this 100% works in Destiny or not but I tend to have the same habit sometimes too. I'll look into that for a video sometime

Had to watch with slower speed to see how the hell that shot on 14:36 could be a miss ... but sure it was. Little too much right. But it sure looked like a hit at normal speed first time.

Sure, I'm mostly a PC player these days so unfortunately I can't help a ton with that, but spending time practicing with your sniper of choice in the PvE world helps a lot. Most of it is muscle memory, and PvE is low stakes training

I'm relatively new to m&k and I've been trying to find a comfortable sens setting. I've attempted 800, 400 and absolutely despise it. I don't know how people can stand that! It takes Such big swings and mouse pickups to turn all the way.. I just don't get it. I've settled on 1600 dpi with 10 look and 1 ads for now and it feels ok. Not sure how people deal with such low sens.

It requires using your arm to aim instead of your wrist, it's a big difference. Generally your accuracy will improve a lot with lower sens compared to wrist aiming, but both can work

Bruh Idk what's been going on lately. Maybe because it's gambit although I've been playing pvp as well and I've been hitting pretty nasty shots i don't use snapshot in everything but if not quick draw is needed. I've been finding a lot of success with Ikelos sniper/ beloved. I haven't touched beloved in a long time because I guess I wanted to try new weapons. Its crazy how consistent it feels. Haven't found a 72 rpm that feels good besides botf and revoker. Now it doesn't feel like a detriment to run a snipe where as before I'd either use it and hit crits or miss and be dry on ammo but I havent ran scavs on them and it feels like any other special now. It doesnt feel as detrimental to have it as a posting with other. weapons and its use to me became easier.

I played 2 days ago on a pc of my friend with 144hz and 120 fps and I was way better at sniping. I play on 50-60 fps and 60hz and I am not bad but I think sniping and overall aiming is way easier on 144hz.

I hate flinch so much cuz 1: it’s a dumb mechanic 2: even if you can always land the reticle on their head, flinch will fuck you up 3: some weapons right now in season 13 flinch so hard and 4: if your reticle is off the head, flinch will put it on the head, Also because flinch is mostly vertical, you can just put your reticle ok their chest and it will probably get flinched on to it.
