I have a friend who used only fg boots on AG throughout his professional career and he was in shock that he shouldn't have done that haha. Nice shout-out to the HG studs! You're so right about the Puma FG/AG insanity. Bladed studs and AG can't be part of the same sentence! For a 40-year old guy who tried the AG of Adidas, Nike and Mizuno, the best I have used for my knees with the right amount of grip in both artificial and Natural is Mizuno. The Morelia Elite can be heavy but the touch is top notch. If you prefer a speed boot, The Mizuno Alpha Elite is the way. Great video as always! Cheers

I’ve been using the Adidas Predator Elite HG/AG, which I purchased from a Japanese marketplace since it’s only available there. I only play on AG fields, and in Indonesia, most fields are AG with 2G/3G turf. I’m impressed with the grip provided by the soleplate, which I’ve tested in both rainy and dry conditions without any issues. Initially, I was a bit doubtful about the shape of the studs, but they’ve worked well. Plus, the price is much cheaper compared to the Predator Elite FG sold locally where I live now. I’ve also tried several other shoes with different soleplates, like the Phantom GX Academy MG, but I found its grip a bit too aggressive on artificial grass. I also tried the Speedportal FG, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it for playing on synthetic turf. Lastly, I tried the Vapor 14 Pro AG-Pro, which had good grip, but I started slipping when it rained. Overall, I think the Adidas HG/AG studs suit me the best.

They're in the FG AG ball park. If you have a nice AG pitch a good quality one you should be okay. Obviously I can't ever 100% say everyone is different, but I've not had any issues.

Good stuff! Question for you and Andrew on this topic. I am thinking of picking up a pair of Adler Yamatokyo, but I play all my matches on AG. I saw in the Boot Wizard review of the Yamatokyo that it seemed like the soleplate might perform just fine on AG, but I'm curious to hear if something like a Mizuno Alpha AG would be a clearly more suitable choice for that purpose (regarding just the soleplate, rather than other boot characteristics). Thanks!

If you're just looking to see which of them has the better soleplate for AG the Mizuno Alpha AG is going to be better in my opinion, it's specifically designed for the surface. However, yes the Adler soleplates are also great for AG pitches especially as an FG AG option.

Great vid as always. Are the studs on the ag lunas the same length as the tiempos? I bought two pairs of tiempo ags and one gx 2 all in ag they seem to be the same length. This variation of the tiempo fits me so well I am going to be returning the phantoms (already returned the mercs ag cause of those two blades) and going to continue to wear these new tiempos on both ag and natural grass

Hey boot wizard. Did you know that in Brazil players are not allowed to wear any kind of boots on any type of artificial grass? Only turfs. Of course I’m talking about amateur level. I used to play in a 7 a side tournament on grass pitches that TURF SHOES were mandatory. Mental.

I don’t think manufacturers help when they make AGs look like the worse boot, the AGs of last years Predators had a single color way and didn’t come with the tongue flap (half the reason to even want a pair ) The new place I’ve moved to is all purely AG pitches sadly I wanted to get a pair of the Copa Gloro II, but there’s no AG version and while I don’t mind the warranty void wanted to ask if you thought the sole plate on the FG looks good for high quality AG pitches saftey wise

Yeah, kind of like I said in the video, removing some of that key tech and making the AG less desirable doesn't help. I think the Gloro FG plate looks alright for AG if you've got a nice pitch. Can't guarantee of course but it looks okay for me.

How is the Nemeziz 19 hold up? I just secured 2 pairs (1 is the white one for Messi which kinda turn yellowish due to oxidization and one is the red version) they are all brand new and I bought them from clearance sale but the upper kinda feel funny, the coating feel waxy I guess. Is it normal feel for the Nemeziz 19 since they are the very first Nemeziz I own? Sorry for long comment and thank you in advance.

I'm still using my Nemeziz 19.1 and they're still great. How long they last for you will probably depend on how well they've been stored by the retailer you got them from, but I wouldn't expect any major issues. The waxy feeling on the top is pretty normal.
