Ever thought about putting AED defibs in your vans? Eazy to use and could save yours or someone else's life. Especially on the bucket truck if you are working near highways or railways. Can even do half day training sessions on its use if your not confident.

Not bad idea though I dunno if the wall mountable ones are certified for permanent vehicle mounting (vibration and temperature)
@truffle83983 жыл бұрын
@@rkan2 yes they are suitable for vehicles. Ambualances carry them. Network rail vans also carry them in there vehicles, they have signs on the outside of the van "AED inside"... :)

Quite like the Tech Pack. When I worked on the Railway, I used to have an orange Hi-Vis' back pack and loaded it it up to trudge trackside (which can be tricky underfoot). It was more stable than trying to carry a case and having to keep swapping hands. I did come unstuck once when walking up an embankment and the high centre of gravity caused me to topple backwards and in trying to save myself from landing backwards, I hopped back with one leg and put my back out, because the mass just wanted to keep going down hill and created a lever of my spine. In summary - it's good on the level, but there can be some tricky accesses around the Railway. Good luck and take care.

Well put together video, guys! James is quite hard-case. It's amazing just how many options there are these days for tool bags for electricians. When I first started as an apprentice, I was made to make up a tool box, out of timber, this was not only so you had something to put your tools in, it was so your Boss could see how good your wood-working skills were, or not. One of the older sparkies made comment saying "You can't fit a broom in that!!"

I love my veto tech ot-mc, perfect balance between small enough to be light ish, and big enough to do 80% of what I do. When I need a bigger tool or just need to carry lots of stuff I use the Hultafors tool buckets. I keep two on the van and use them all the time!

Things have progressed so much. Back in the 80's when I was doing Medical X-Ray field service, the only oprions were Jensen or Platt tool cases ($$$) or your standard tool flip-open tool box with lift out tray. I also carried a Flambeau Artist's case (now marketed as a Medical Drawer Cabinet, also $$$) to hold fuses, butt splices, crimp on connectors, commonly replaced parts, and some small hardware bits and bobs. Thanks for the Show and Tell.

I work as a "handyman" at the mo & I have found that having seperate bags for specific jobs is great.... I do plumbing /carpentry /electrical /(within my limitations) tiling etc.... & I will NEVER have a "do-all " bag / tote... I think different bags work in different situations, I would rather carry one big bag up to a flat than constantly run up & down for tools I left out of a small bag... YMMV... 😎👍☘️🍺

My first veto was the tech-lc. The issue I had was that you can easily overload it. Sold it and bought a Tech-Pac and had the same issue but as the bag was bigger it made the problem worse. Now I use the Velocity Rouge 9.0 service bag for gas jobs, appliance servicing, and gas tightness testing. The Veto TP-XXL for air con fault finding. The Veto OT-MC for brazing. The Velocity Rouge 3.5 for small reactive jobs, just throw in the tools and parts I need for that job. The Velocity 1.5 Van bag, used it for over a year and couldn't go without it now. I'm a commercial HVAC enginner hence the need for various bags.

This is funny, as a photographer, I feel what you guys go through as well with your obsession with bags/totes. I have a hard time complaining to the Mrs about all her purses when I have a few closets full of backpacks, wheel bags, belt bags, travel cases, etc for camera and video gear. Always the best to have a 50lb full bag and have to act like its only about 15 lbs when you just lift it up and drop it in the plane's overhead so it doesn't attract attention of the airlines with overweight bags. But then when you have $40K worth of gear in a single bag its not being checked! 👍😁

James , for the Veto TPXL : there's actually a smal D-ring on the shoulder strap , you can mount a small carabiner clip to it and then attach the shoulder strap to one of the side D-rings , that'll keep the shoulder strap off the ground and you can be as lazy as me and not have to move it yourself 👍happy days mate !

Actually been pretty impressed with the B&Q Macallister bags. Quality seems way above the price. Also a big fan of the toughbuilt pouches. They do a tote bag which is similar to the Sortimo one you showed and allows a pouch to clip on the end. Downside is it tips over the tote bag because it is a smaller size bag and the pouches get heavy fast.
@thomasnagy3 жыл бұрын
I can see that being a issue, it’s very easy to overload those little pouches

Railways may require you to have bags that can quick release (in case it get caught on a train) and in Orange HiViz colours but depends where you're working worth checking before buying.
@dragade1013 жыл бұрын
If you find some molle pouches that suit a specific size and grouping of tools; that is a nice way to customise and build out semi custom organisation. Granted this is a bag in/on a bag and adding a fair amount of density (so choose wisely how much you want to add) but sourcing from military/police supplier for a well organised pouch is tapping into a much larger R&D with many more testers than the trade industry (IMO).

Looking at the "sustenance" bag that looks to be a fantastic sized bag for Fire Extinguisher testing. The largest tool tends to be the digital scales so carrying your tags and O rings in the middle wouldn't be an issue.
@allthegearuk2 жыл бұрын
The issue with the sortimo tote is that the proclick adapters don't hold the tool bags in place. They slot in but they don't click and are not held like they are on a tool belt. So if you knock them they will come off. The bosch tote with the proclick belt buckles attached is a better option in my opinion as it actually holds the pouch properly.
