I have a question, I'm gonna travel to Kazakhstan this end of the year. Should I convert my current balance (MYR) to USD first before use the Wise card at that country? Because I can't find KZT currency in the Wise app.
@WiseАй бұрын
Hi, there. Currently, we don't support KZT currency in our balance feature yet, but rest assured that we're working on expanding our scope to provide localized experience to our customers. To answer your question, it'll be up to you if you'll convert it in other currency. But note that Wise has this technology that checks whether you have the currency you need to avoid fees. So for example, if you have an EUR currency on your account, and you're using your Wise card within the eurozone, then our system will automatically deduct it from your EUR balance. So in your case, even if you don’t have it in your account or if it's not supported yet, you can still spend money. Our Smart Conversion technology will automatically convert the balance for you that has the lowest conversion fee. We've covered this here: wi.se/smartconversiontech Usually, if travelling abroad, we'd suggest converting to the currencies you need within Wise before spending. But since KZT isn't on the list yet, you can decide whether you'll convert it to USD (if you have the balance open), or leave it as is. We hope this clarifies, and let us know if you have clarifications 😊

What are options where I can cash out, withdraw my us dollar funds in my wise account and I'm here in the Philippines?
@Wise2 ай бұрын
Hey, Ana. If you need to withdraw cash from an ATM, you can do that in the Philippines. We explain this here: wi.se/use-card-atm. If you need to send USD from your Wise balance to your local PHP account, you can check how to send from balance here: wi.se/sendfrombalance. Here's a detailed guide on PHP transfers: wi.se/guidetophp. We've replied to your other comment as well, but please feel free to contact us at wi.se/contactus, or send us a DM on Facebook, X or Instagram, if you have any questions. We'll be happy to help.

If I have a few currencies on my wise will it use the currency of the country I am in automatically? Or do I have to do it myself?
@Wise3 ай бұрын
Hey there 👋 There’s no need to worry about converting money before travelling because when you spend money it will be taken from the balance that the local currency is in. If you don’t have the currency in your account, then we’ll automatically convert the amount for you. The money will be taken from whichever available balance has the cheapest conversion fee. You can find more info on this and other tips on how to use your Wise card here: wi.se/getting-started-with-wise-card If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us on our other social media platforms or via phone and email here: wi.se/contactus

How do i change my card pin, in malaysia. Also, I wonder why some wise card can use payWave, some can't? Although the contactless limit has been changed.
@Wise7 ай бұрын
Hi 👋 It's not supported to change your card's PIN if it was issued in Malaysia, since local ATMs don't support that function for external cards. Should you travel to the EEA/UK area, then you can change the PIN in an ATM. We did have a contactless issue in Malaysia, but this function should fully restart after you do a CHIP+PIN payment or a balance inquiry at an ATM. If you need any further help, and want us to look into your latest card payments, do reach out to us: wi.se/contactus.

I opened an account or jar for my Thailand trip. Now I'm in thailand and everytime I use the card it deduct the payment from my main account not the one in Thailand. Someone knows what's the reason for this?
@Wise6 ай бұрын
Hi there - thanks for reaching out. Jars are for money you want to set aside and keep separate from your balances. You can’t spend it with your debit card, and you can’t send it or use it to pay Direct Debits. When you open a Jar, you’ll choose the currency you want to save in and give it a name and icon. Then you can: - Add money from any of your balances - Withdraw money to a balance that’s in the same currency as the Jar - Send a transfer from your Jar You can learn more about this here: wi.se/wisejars. So in this case, you'll need to transfer the money from your jar to the relevant currency balance. This can be done by selecting "send" on the specified jar. Please feel free to reach out to us over on social media for more help. This can be on X/Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, or alternatively through this link: wi.se/contactus - we're here to help 💚
