Great video man thanks for posting it. Ive been saddle hunting now for two years and im.hooked. I'm 50 now and tried the one stick and I'm hooked. I went one EW site and was a little confused at all the options. If i wantws thw set up you have is all i have to select is the aider and pouch and thw rest is as you see it? My total the way i did it cam to 404 seem right?

Yeah for sure about the same size as a short set of 4 sticks. Half the weight, and doubles as a platform.

Yes its the 12. The only issue I have ever had is it can be a pain to cinch down on certain packs because its so short, but I love it. Using it again this season.

do you find it kind of hard to step on the lower step and it hits your chins? I find the double step works better with the footing then the ultimate lower step.

Thanks for the video. Now that you have had it for a bit do you think the bottom step is worth the extra money and weight? How does it pack up when your walking in? I was worried that 12” might actually put the steps too close so it’s hard to tuck it in some where. Thanks again

I just strap the stick to my pack and off I go. Im about 9 sits in with the stick. It works great. The lower step is awesome

Thanks for the video. Good job. What’s the purpose of the bottom platform? Seems like it just ads weight and bulk. As far as the pack and play, I just use the rope to hold the aider steps in place when stowing them. Beats wrapping them around the stick 20 times.

I assume more foot room. I tried to one stick on a Tethrd One Stick and knew I wanted more room. Is it unnecessary? Maybe, but the foot room is nice. Makes the climb easier for me. I have never used a double step bottom though so I really don't know. UltimAider was like 40 bucks I was already 400 deep so I figured screw it why not. I like how clean and tight it keeps everything.

I believe they say the bottom platform helps hold your aider a little further from the tree to give you more foot room on aider.

I have been one sticking using my predator platform and a hawk helium stick I modified with a two step aider. I hesitate to get a stick/platform combo like the EWO because I am worried that tiny platform would be uncomfortable after a couple hours. How does it feel after a few hours on the small platform/step?

Its not really as small as it looks. Its almost the same size as my predator. I got the angled one. That might make it look smaller, but they have a flat option as well. Check out tree hugger. They have made a pretty large platform for a one stick.

Question about lower step. How much farther out does it hold the Ultimator from the tree? Does it hold Ultimator wider or same as regular steps from EWO? Thanks

This is the only one I've ever used so I'm not sure. I bet Greg staggs from staggs in the Wild could answer that for you a little better. It's 6in from the bracket to the front of the step and 9 inches wide. It comes forward from the stick about 2.5in.

EWO makes a top notch product no doubt, but out on a limb has the big bob and the slick Rick and both of them are just unbeatable. I sold my ewo one stick for a big bob and am more than glad I did

LMAO I did the same thing and I said the same thing. For 2 years now I have been one sticking with a modified Muddy Pro and a Trophyline Mission Platform (which I do love actually), but I got to thinking I just need a "proper" one stick setup, maybe I can ditch some weight and save some time getting in and out of the tree.

Nice stick at just over 5# and you can get as high as you want quicker setup and quicker at the end of the hunt. The angle is definitely better than a flat for foot comfort. One sticking. Is one of those things I wish id found sooner 😂

Yeah me too, but I think it's just the natural evolution we go through. If on your very first climb I told to to pick your feet up lean back pull your step out from under you and just dangle. Trust your gear. You would have told me I was insane. Now it just makes sense. Good luck this season. Congrats again on the turkey you crazy fucker lol.

Dude same. Soon as I saw Carl I was like yep that makes sense. First time I saw a saddle I though what ancient piece of hunting gear is that lol. Not knowing it was 60 years old and the next big thing. Then when I saw you lean away from the tree I was like hell no. Now here we are.

They will come around one day lol, but yeah it seems some are more stubborn than others. My 2 partners do not saddle hunt. 1 is ground only the other is climber.
