A Saddle just makes sense. Being able to get into different types of trees is such an upgrade from a climber

Great video. I’m in my third hunting season, I exclusively bow hunt, and this is my first season one sticking. Being mobile and able to climb the tree quietly allowed me to get my first deer this season, and I’m always looking for tips to refine my climbing setup.

The day I picked up a saddle I sold all my other stands lol they’re a great tool!

Have you tried attaching your pull down rope to the knot side of the tether instead of the working end?
@nativeoutdoorz3 күн бұрын
Probably wouldn’t be as effective. The friction from the tree won’t really allow it to go. It would probably work after some finesse but I think putting it on the working end is the best route

Have you weighed your whole complete setup? With the backpack and everything else.
@nativeoutdoorz2 ай бұрын
I have not but I’ll tell you it’s wayyyy lighter than a climber

@@nativeoutdoorz My old summit climber weighs 21.5 pounds which is light for a climber. That is the actual weight as I have an accurate hanging scale. Add the safety harness and gear and that add another 4.5 pounds to the total making it 26 pounds. I have an overwatch transformer saddle and it weighs 7.7 pounds with all the ropes and hardware. If I get a 1 stick that weighs around 4 pounds, I should be able to stay around 12 pounds. If I add a backpack, that will add another 2 to 4 pounds of weight. Since the transformer is a heavy two panel saddle and adding everything else to it, I want to stay 15 pounds or less. Of the 15 pounds, the saddle is taking up half of that, so I want to be very selective with the other half. If you have a good bathroom scale, can you weigh yourself with and without your gear to see what you weight is?

I’m interested in getting some of the items you used. Can you link them in the description? Like the orange flat rope. Gear hanger, hanging rope steps

I meant to do that, thanks for letting me know. I just updated the description with all the links go check it out!

I see lots of guy use a tether to climb. I don't. I use my climbing rope as my tether, so in case something happens I can just come down.
@nativeoutdoorz3 ай бұрын
With the one stick method your climbing rope and tether are the same thing. If at any moment you need to get Danelle you could just rappel down because your tether is 40ft long
@therussianbroker3 ай бұрын
tree climbing gear would make the climbing process faster.
@nativeoutdoorz3 ай бұрын
Certainly, but it would also be a lot more stuff to carry in and carry out of the woods along with the already heavy and bulky hunting gear
