Another type of rat spot is also mid-round when you know where all the enemies are and eg you are on defender, there are many spots on the map you can go to that they might not check especially if they rush to rotate and plant

That's for low elo. I remember dominating rat campers easily just swing preaim and kill. Crouching in the corner might not work all the times because when you crouch you are still and you don't move your head but when you are swinging the corner at full speed, it will be harder. In high elos they will check every corner unless you bamboozle them, which is really circumstantial as they will check every single corner. You will want to flash before you peek even though you are hiding in the corner since they will probably be clearing the other angle first before going into your rat corner. You also want to swing when they are about to swing your angle, which requires alot of gamesense to pull off. And you swing when they do because they are moving their crosshair into the corner, normally, they will have to stop moving their crosshair towards the corner, let go of the A key or D key then press the opposite direction key and then flick and shoot. Very complicated for them, and you have to do less effort so you have the advantage. Chances are you counterstrafe before they do and headshot because of better peekers advantage.

Yea pretty much this. I play on plat and diamond elo on the Japanese server, and holy all the raty positions won't work unless you timing the swing. Even then when you probably just get one or two before you get instantly traded out, which is why teamwork is critical here.

One spot you missed is on fracture A hall where you smoke off just before the door and hide in the corner right next to your smoke opposite the door and easy kills. Even better you can use astra do a fake smoke which should give you enough time or get a shotgun and run gun through your smoke. Works in low ELO very well.

A good rat spot is in Pearl, around A Main. Sometimes, when attackers see a lot of defenders on B site, they'd rather just rotate to A. So, one time, I decided to hide behind the pillar near the wood box in A main. They never noticed a thing, and i killed 4 of them before dying. Sad I couldn't get the ace. But anyway, they surrendered the next round.

5:20 i think that opposite spot is a pretty good rat spot, in my experience at least. If you’re lucky, your enemies won’t notice you, AGAIN IF YOURE LUCKY. It usually ends up with a 1 v 1-2.

The biggest problem in the gaming industry is people who are smart enough to use something the proper way are lumped in with rats and boosters when most players are just casuals playing a competitive game. It’s sad that when I employ a three round strategy and it works the 2 plays earlier that set up the “rat” spot go unnoticed. TLDR they aren’t a rat you probably don’t take competitive game modes serious enough and call it “ELO hell” when in reality you probably log in on weekends and nights when people are drinking and smoking. Log in play 2 games a day in the morning you will climb up 3 ranks within a month. Play smart not hard.
