@@jonjack7841 Oh man would love a new DOA. Still have very fond memorys of DOA2 (i think it was) on PS2. Yeah, i just didn't like the direction they took with T8. VF looks way more grounded and i think that is what i was looking for. A nice kinda realistic fighter without all the crazy stuff, that favors movement and decision making instead of constant knwledge checks and 50/50s with zero execution required. T8 is just so over the top.

Can anyone explain to me what is the "thing" that makes this franchise? I've been playing fighters for over 30 years and I've bounced off of it every time I give it a try but so many players I respect love this game and I can't figure out what I'm missing.

@TrickyEileen when I started playing there were no home versions to practice or Internet access so it was all just get on the sticks and figure it out. I remember that at the time cabinets functioned like mini tutorials and the VF one at my spots didn't have much more than just basic 3 hit strings and maybe a command grab. Part of the problem is the lack of my ability to intuit better strategies as much as I could with previous 2d titles but I think that also reflects on the game design itself. Like I said I still don't even know why some people like it, I just know that they really do. I feel like there's something I'm just missing.
