Thank you for breaching this sensitive subject. With all the sex ed in schools and disfunction in families, we, as Christians, need to be proactive.

This is a great episode. These kind of conversations need to happen more in the church setting. It helps keep an open line of communication when people are struggling with any aspect of sexuality. It also helps counsel the path of marriage and how to be a good spouse and parent. A lot of people feel like these topics are forbidden within the church which in turn makes them feel shameful/guilty and they then hide any struggles they are experiencing and do not get the help they need. Thank you for creating this episode.

I, a woman, have watched every single episode (up to this one and have the rest saved to watch this week so I’m caught up). I share with everyone I know. On social media, in text messages, in conversation. Y’all inspired me to start an email study group and this is week 10 for us. So far it’s 18 people, 17 women and my 12 year old son. My other 3 kids are too young for this kind of group but I do other lessons with them as we homeschool and use a biblical curriculum. Thank y’all for what you do. It’s very beneficial for anyone and everyone!

I'm 25 years old. I have. 7 year old daughter. She is starting to ask those dreaded questions like " where do babies come from" . I've been unable to answer her questions. I have struggled with giving in to my urges and watching porn for years..... so my own insecurities makes it uncomfortable discussing with my daughter anything about sex. You were talking again about the importance of worship. I noticed this many years ago and it has always stuck with me. In Psalm 73 David, like in many Pslams, starts out frustrated or angry and ends praising God. The progression here is amazing. Here's he short version so you can explore it yourself. Verses 1-3 state his problem, envy. In verses 4-11 he uses the words they or their 16 times, his focus is on others. In verses 12-16 he uses the word I or me 10 times, his focus is on himself. In the end, verses 18-28 he uses the words you or your 16 times. What a change in viewpoint! What made the switch? verses 16 and 17. He says when he tried to understand it all it was oppressive to him UNTIL he entered the Sanctuary of God. Then he understood. He worshiped, he entered the sanctuary. He put the focus on God. Worship is important. It keeps our focus where it belongs. Keep up the worship!

I taught Acteens, a teenage girl's mission group back in the 80's. I started a book by Elizabeth Elliot, a missionary, called Sex Is Not Love. It was an encouragement to be holy, but some adults were uncomfortable with anybody teaching on that subject and told me to stop. Sadly, within a few years there were a couple of unwed parents. The church needs to talk about it. Now more than ever

Our body of worshipers of about 100 with about 96 attending every Sunday sing acapella & man, is it beautiful. Baritone, base, alto, tenor & soprano what a beautiful sound with a song leader up front. I've never attended a body of people worshiping in the group meeting at the building housing the Church of Christ member as Phil was raised that uses instruments & now when I attend a church with an organ or drums, it sounds like a performance rather than singing praises to God. I'm surprised ALL sitting on this podcast are so comfortable singing with instruments.I'm nearly 60 years old & have NEVER heard singing with instruments by those in the Church of Christ. It's a sound so heavenly I feel as if I'm in a cloud of angels. Let's all sing praises to God each day all day!

Because we’ve gotten away from a natural existence growing our own food raising our own livestock, the teachable moments with farm animals takes away the easy conversation with your child. Being raised in the farm life it was pretty obvious how things worked. Of course back then computers were nonexistent and TV was a barely.
@brahtrumpwonbigly73093 жыл бұрын
Growing up around animals pretty much fixes the issue of bringing it up to your kids. Growing up on a farm, we called it "doin it". We saw Big Red doin' it with Momma Chicken, and we knew what it was but it wasn't weird, it was natural. We read our bibles and our dad made sure we knew what husband and wife was and why it was important.

Today's Young Man don't want to commit to one female. They want to experience multiple women. Today's society tell young men be with as many women possible before you marry. Young women give in to have that commitment from the man or boy. Then the young man just toss them aside like they're nothing. And young women are left to pick up their own piece by them self. And sometimes left with a child to raise

Hi guys, I went to a church that only sings without music because the Bible, (In the New Testament), says for us to sing and make melody (in Your Heart). To add to the Word is wrong. God does not say we have to sing on key. He only instructs us to sing. We aren't supposed to be pleasing ourselves. It is to him! Secular entertainment has nothing to do with it.
@chazatkinson4 жыл бұрын
Did that church meet in a building ? Because I cannot find anywhere that they did , on the contrary they met in each other’s homes . But to each their own For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.Galatians 5:6

@@jakegodman He has given us many gifts. We may be talented cooks or doctors or ice skaters. There's no limit to the various gifts we have been given. The Bible is the instructions for just simply how God wants us to do certain things. It says not to add or subtract from the words of the book. When Jesus did what he did, we were freed from the old law. In the New Testament there is no instruction for anything more than us to sing and make melody in our hearts. I know it's fun to have the music. But it's not my will be done during worship. It's his.

What you may not understand is the effect porn has on your brain. Research it! If you're married, and your wife discovers your secret, it will completely destroy her self-esteem. If you're not married, a porn habit can very well destroy your future marital sex life before it even begins. Also, what you may not have considered is, you are actively contributing to human trafficking, even if you never PAY for porn. Just by clicking on a "free" porn site, they're still getting paid by their advertisers for the traffic the site receives. Contrary to what they may say, many of the "actors" do not want to be doing porn. SO many of them are strung-out on drugs (many of them are KEPT drugged by their pimps) and they have no other way to support their habit. Is this something you want to support? Is this world really something a Christian man should be a part of? Do you know what the Bible says about it? Jesus said, _“You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ _*_But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to desire her has already committed adultery with her in his heart."_* (Matt. 5:27-28) *_"The body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body._*_ Now God indeed raised the Lord and he will raise us by his power. _*_Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Should I take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! Or do you not know that anyone who is united with a prostitute is one body with her?_*_ For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.” But the one united with the Lord is one spirit with him. _*_Flee sexual immorality! “Every sin a person commits is outside of the body”-but the immoral person sins against his own body*. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price. *Therefore glorify God with your body."_* (1 Corinthians 6:13-20)

@@marthaj67 Excellent comment. Porn is BAD BAD BAD. Yes, sex trafficking, drugs and NONE of the women want to be there, they hate it and their lives are miserable. It will mess up a mans mind about real intimacy, porn has nothing to do with intimacy. Contrary to what people say, "oh watch it and learn from it", ha ha, nothing to learn, they are acting. And most of it will not be what transpires between a man & a woman that love one another. I have never watched it, it makes me sick to even think about it.

I have 2 kids was never married and my oldest son went thru hell because of my life style. I then had my daughter who is now 4 and realized I needed to change my life and I did for the most part, but hadn't found Jesus yet. In the last 6 months I have given my life to Jesus. Ive repented for those sins and still feel guilt because of it even tho I have repented. Do you guys think I can still find a man and have a godly marriage even tho I made those mistakes in the past? I'm not having sex with anyone and haven't for a year and won't until I find a man and get married this time around, I think it'll be hard finding a godly man that's ok with those terms, but I also believe Jesus will bring me that man when I'm ready.

From The Companion Bible side column notes for Matthew 26:30 KJV: *30 hymn = Psalm.* Probably the second part of "the great Hallel" (or Hallelujah), Psalms 115, 116, 117, 118. *they went out.* Another proof that this was not the Passover lamb. Compare Exodus 12:22. Exodus 12:22 KJV And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason ; *and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.*
