Miss Kay, Lisa and Missy join the podcast with their husbands to discuss football, marriage, forgiveness and their love of Jesus. Missy scares Jase with a little slip of paper that she brought with her to educate Jase on what they have in common. Lisa talks about the forgiveness that was shown to her, and how it helped to unravel a lie that she believed about herself from a very young age. Miss Kay talks about some lessons she learned from her grandmother and what she taught her about marriage and family. And Al quotes Missy on her hilarious sports commentary.

Lisa, I admire you so much. I have spent my entire life alongside “Christians” who have grown up in stable, happy, and loving homes. My conversion was real and life changing, but the sting of shame and past sin by my family and myself is, like David said, “ever before me”. I don’t think I could talk about it all the time. It might be a little easier for you, being in ministry.

My heart always goes out to Lisa..it’s like she has to relive her indiscretion over and over. It seems like she should be able to leave it in the past now. Same with Phil, though, I guess. They are forgiven and I get the testimony part but it seems more like they are being judged or raked over the coals so to speak. I just wonder if both of them would like to be able to let it go now except maybe for occasionally counseling with people. It shouldn’t be their identity.

Lynn Gluth their pasts are dead and buried once God forgives you he washes it away as if it never happened she owned up paid her price and asked forgiveness as did Phil but yeah I can see ho it may hurt them to talk about as they hurt people they love dearly and loved even then dep down Phil loved Miss Kay! But maybe I am just guessing . But maybe he just did not know how to be in a marriage maybe I mean they got married as teens thats not an excuse but could be a reason thankfully he turned it around at the young age of 28 and they restored their marriages he and Lisa its not excuse but Lisa felt neglected and she reacted badly instead of going to Alan and talking it out she allowed herself to be seduced by this other man it was not true love it temporary fulfillment she realizes that easy . they also married young not an excuse but it is what it is Jase married young and he did not do anything nor did Missy Willie and Korie talso married right out of High School and in College and they did ok. Except well Willie and Korie fought once and Willie stormed out its funny now because he was like I have no money and no place to go ! LOL it was a stupid fight probably between two college kids newly married they can laugh it off now ! But as painful as it may be to talk about Phil and Lisa and Alan can help a lot of people and now they have Phyliss who Kay refers to her as daughter which is beautiful to me so God made some good out of an otherwise sticky situation Jep is no longer the sister they never wanted! LOL😆😆😆 It was heartbreaking hearing Miss Kay talk about locking herself in her bathroom then contemplating taking pills to end her life she was so miserable but so sweet that her boys were at the door calling her and that saved her if I know Phil Robertson hearing that hurt him more than anything in this world ! Now not all young marriages are that extreme my grandma was 14 when she married grandpa my mother's parents he was not 14 she was and as far as I know they were happy happy happy all the way through he was 25 my Papa And Contrary to what some may think Phil and Kay are basically the same age he is 76 she is 74 do not believe google who said they were 4 years apart LOL some say she was 16 when she married others said he was 17 she was 16 when they started dating t but his birth year is 46 hers is 1947 . I looked it up they married in 1966 Alan was born in 1965 thats ok with me .

Thank you all for allowing us to see the vulnerable parts of your family. I love what Ms. Kay said… she learned because she sat with her grandmother and talked about this. I feel that you all are doing that with us. Yes it hurts my heart to see the scars from Satans attacks on you all but again, walking this out with us has been a huge testimony. Much love and respect to Lisa and Phil for sharing the deepest darkest places, for Al sharing about being a prodigal son and for Kay for having the wisdom to let God guide her.

This is one of my favorite videos from yall. And trust me when I say I watch ALL OF THEM! Jase is so right .. its such a beautiful thing that Jesus has done in Al and Lisa's marriage. Our human minds cannot even begin to understand the power of the Lord! His vision is so much bigger than the picture we create in our minds. Satan will do anything he can, but God always turns it around for His Glory! Our achievements and our mistakes alike are FOR HIS GLORY! And we need to be reminded of this, daily! Awesome show guys!!!

Thank you for doing this post! I think it is so important that we need to go back to the teaching of how a godly marriage and family need to be. You have a platform and you are using it for God’s glory. I appreciate it so much. Praying for you and your family. Please keep sharing and don’t let your past sins condemn you from doing the work for God’s kingdom. So many people need to listen and be waking up from this lost world. Let’s start with one person, one marriage, and even one family coming to Jesus. Thank you! ❤😊🥰

Every marriage has its ups and downs. Love it when the ladies are on. But good example of three different marriages and how each of you handle it with God help, your faith, your patience, and forgiveness. I have been in a marriage pretty close like Ms Kay, dealt with things like Lisa. Missy and Jase marriage is rare. I loved all of your in puts of marriage but some marriage need to end at times when its takes you to dark places of abuse. And its ok to and pray to our Lord to guide us on our journey. I raised my children the best I could and will never get married again but that is my choice. Bless you all.

Thanks for sharing your testimonies and Godly wisdom. I have been struggling with understanding marriage and relationships. Because, I grew up in a domestic violence family plus spiritual abuse by the church. And it has really messed up my thought process. Also It has brought me to a point that I am so scared to be in a relationship of any kind. Just because I am afraid that I will act in a un-Godly manner and mess it up. Or no one will expect me and my past or present of the burdens that I am carrying because I am not a cookie cutter christian. But listening to Godly encouragement from you guys has been refreshing. If you all could please pray for me that would be greatly appreciated.

Isn't interesting that they learned from Lisa that forgiveness and Love is the way. I mean who are you to judge her or anyone. You are there to teach the love of God Remember Mary Magdalene. Look what Jesus did for her. Missy and the family defense mechanisms are toward Lisa is your issues not her issues. Our first should be love for those hurting, but our knee jerk worldly ungodly mind set is egoistic is not godly or love or forgiveness. We have to learn to be conscious of our thoughts and actions and not walk around in rose colored glasses. That's all I wanted to say. I really enjoyed this discussion. I am twice divorced and felt the ungodly attitude towards me in Bible class with a bunch of married couples. I also know that God sees everything and makes everything right. Blessings to all.

I admire Kay and Alan for being able to forgive, change and stay in their marriage, probably more so than some because I could not do it. I forgave in time, but did not feel the same afterwards. I did not want him. I was in turmoil because I believed marriage was forever, yet I could not get past what he had done. I divorced in 1986 with 6 month old, 2 and 4 year old boys and have never remarried. I don’t think I ever will because I know I could not take that vow knowing if he cheated it would be over for me.

One of the things I love most, because it manifests how complete Jesus’ redeeming power is, is the way Phil and others talk plainly about past sins without shame. “Unashamed” because of Jesus, is the message I always get from it. I’m so profoundly grateful for the courage these guys exercise and the integrity they live in to their commitment and faith in God. The family that can talk about their weaknesses openly because they know Jesus’ perfection, not their own, is their salvation and their hope is one where love can abound because it’s founded on God and He IS love. Trust in Jesus is the foundation for love. The profound forgiveness that occurs when Jesus is the focus, not ourselves and/or each other. That is what I always come away with when I watch or listen to their stories and the way they live together.

My grandfather sat down with me and my husband before we got married and said give me 5 reasons y’all should get married and you can’t say bc I love him/her. My 5 reasons Bc he makes me feel safe Bc he has a good work ethic Bc he accepts my past without judgement (child sexual abuse which my grandfather knew nothing about) Bc he makes me laugh and evens out my serious side. His reasons Bc she ousted me gently to be a better man Bc she helps me see their is more to life than work Bc she supports my dreams Bc she is one of the most unselfish people I have ever met Bc I want her to be the mother of my children and until her I never wanted kids bc I could not see myself being a good father. That list has been a reminder for 30+ years of why we are married.

I think we can add another thing to missy’s list. Both Jase and Missy are definitely talkers. Don’t get me wrong it’s not like they are the people who talk and have nothing to say, however, podcasts usually consist of 90% of it is Jase talking with Al and Phil splitting the last 10% usually in a 7/3% ratio depending on the day. I wish Al would talk more tho because he does have A LOT of really great insight but barely gets to talk or gets cut off a lot and Jase is back chasing the bunny down the trail again 😂

The world will tell you that they want to see you sucseed but in truth it doesn't. I heart people be happy and congratulat my marriage of 13 years but it wasn't two weeks after that I was hearing you need to leave him, you duserve better, you duserve to be happy. That was the world working against God's doing. I truly believe God put my husband and I together. Now with saying all of that I had started to let the world slowly creep in. I started to talk to men and flurt in mind thinking they are just friends. Then it moved on to truly flurting and starting to build a relationship with another person. Though I had not done anything physicly everything had started mentally and emotionally. My husband could have said yes I'll take the divorce but he didn't he turned to a church that we had not been to in a long time and that was after going to our home church for help. Our home church now got us un right away and councled us. My husband fully turned to the Lord and believe in the proses of our healing and our marriage healing. Do I still cry sometimes when sharing yes but it gets easier every time. I also know that God is using my poor choices to help others in the process.. He has thought others through me. My husband and I have been married for 14 years I've been asked to help with 4-5th grade Sunday school class and I'm struggling with that do to feeling unworthy of such a blessing as to work with children.

I agree with Missy you should never miss a conversion as a pro kicker at least. anything within 50 yards you should almost never miss. if you're a kicker and nobody knows who you are you're very successful as soon as people are saying your name it's most likely cuz you screwed up 😂

With two sons who are graduates of Alabama I congratulate LSU on the win. I am a die hard Crimson Tide Fan, and until this year a big fan of Nick Sabin. However that being said he may be getting old, with his siding with several "Woke" trends in the past couple of years I am finding it hard to be such a Sabin fan. It seems like the unity he instilled in the team prior to 2020 has been lost. Their has been a great emphasis put on individualism. This is an extremely team dependent sport and there is no room for this politically correct nonsense. I know he is afraid of not being able to recruit from his usual haunts unless he is copacetic to the morays of the woke agenda, but it is showing in their on-field performance.

I wish I could have stayed in my marriage of 19 years. The Bible gives us the exception of infidelity as far as a reason for divorce. The Lord knows whether a man or woman will accept Him and stop that particular sin. Unfortunately my husband chose the opposite although given every opportunity to NOT divorce. Infidelity can absolutely destroy the marriage partner. I’m SO glad papa Phil chose the Lord 💜 ALSO, in matters of physical and mental abuse or the like, you CAN separate and demand the partner get counseling before they can come back into the home!!
