Until you've dealt with a loved or close one with chronic addiction, you'll never ever get how difficult it is to save someone from themselves who doesn't want saved.

Spoken like somebody who’s never dealt with addiction or mental health issues I’m telling you as a person with both a mental health history going back until I was 4 and a addiction history going back until I was 15 I can tell you most addicts do t want help and you can’t help addicts that don’t want help and ppl with bipolar disorder have major mood changes may ask for help or say they want help but don’t really mean it you don’t know if they tried to help him

I love Dirty and the whole WUTANG- but from growing up in that era, witnessing Dirty- he was a rebel in every since… That being said, everyone don’t have the capacity to deal with someone’s crazy 99% of the time! There were times when he just genuinely was bugging - it was cute when they was teenagers, but as a grown adult man with the same behavior it gets exhausting

We all on our mid to later 40's now (with wives & children) and this one brother can't hold a job, doesn't have a car! It's like we ❤ you bruh.... but we all got our own responsibilities now, and we can't babysit you.

@@PhilP8980 ''Dust Head'' isnt the issue here, They was all smoking dust , pretty much most 90s east coast rappers of that era was smoking dust and undercover crack smokers, Shit pretty much all of WU where smoking dust, But ODB's Demon was ADDICTION, Whether the vice was Alcohol , Dust , Coke/Crack , Opiates what ever else he used to cope with his life on a daily , Labelling him a out of control dust head is just ignorant, Addiction is a HORRIBLE thing for anyone to deal with , its a life long battle and not many people get the help , support and love they need, soon as people hear addiction somehow that person is then seen as a lower person, And Alcohol was the main vice here and the main thing which took him down the path of self destruction, He clearly had mental health issues and back in the 90s and especially in the black community mental health was not something people took seriously, RIP to Dirt McGirt

ODB is overlooked in some ways, Russell brought so much energy to ODB just like DOOM and a few other masked rappers who dive headfirst into their characters. Its a testament to his skill to be able to consistantly bring us the ODB we knew from the drop of Enter The Wutang. ODB doesnt define Russell, its just a major part of him.

She was the first female rapper signed to Def Jam. She was the hardest rapper out in the 90's . She died 3/11/24. Her funeral was 3/23/24. Can you cover her story please? Rip ODB and Boss!

I loved ODB. Man was a legend in the streets of Brooklyn when I was coming up. I even knew folks that was locked up with em in Rikers and Clinton and they said he was a solid cat that acted like a regular dude, but that he was clearly dealing with mental health issues and would bug out only to get touched up. Buddy was definitely dealing with a lot and it was only made worse by all the snakes in his life. Dude was brilliant with the rap and seemed like a genuinely solid individual but addiction and other mental health conditions combined with the manipulation of people around em, the way he was milked by the very people who were supposed to be helping him, and how he really did seem to love helping people around em was all a recipe for disaster. As a recovering addict I can relate to a lotta his struggle. RIP. World!
