@@tiddieboi4296You have no clue what you're talking about. Doss knew a book that knew him. He did what he did because of the Bible, he treasured it, he loved it. That is why he did what he did. Jesus bled and died upon a cross for sinners. Doss would not do what he had done if Jesus was not raised from the dead to defeat death and hell. You do not know what you are speaking about. Please think about these things and do not be quick to speak.

@@eatdatcupcake4453 That is a logical fallacy, God is not a 'Wizard' nor do I believe He is. He is not "in the sky", I am not a Mormon. God is immaterial and eternal. He had no beginning, He has no end. I am a Trinitarian. Study upon the subject of what that would imply. God created the sky, heavens, the universe. The Universe itself is not eternal. What do you believe? That nothing created everything or is the source from which the universe originated from? The notion that the universe created itself is a contradiction. How can you appeal to the preconditions of intelligibility. I don't believe in cunningly devised fables, myths and legends but I believe in a collection of historical documentation which prophesied the place, the time and the person of Jesus Christ. Your god is yourself and you are your own law. That is why atheistic philosophers have led us to a self-indulged, self-loving culture which gives zero basis for ethics, logic and epistemology. You have to take capital from the Christian worldview in order to deny the God you are attempting to refute. You do not want God in your knowledge because you love your sin. What would the God of the Bible imply? You shall not commit adultery? Do you commit such? Do you lie and have you ever lied? God knows of your lawless deeds and you will be judged according to them. I shan't because Christ in history came into the world to save sinners. Evidence? What is the year? Buddha never split time in half, Muhammad never split time in half, Gandhi never split time in half because they are all DEAD. Jesus arose from the dead and that is a fact from historical eyewitness testimony. Nothing satisfies the demands of fools. "Content makes a poor man rich and discontent makes a rich man poor" which is why if you would only humble yourself and think Coherently through the claims you make, that my God is just "pie in the sky" like something magical. No you would be led to Ultimate meaning and truth which has no beginning nor end. Again, I am not a Mormon. They're closer to Hinduism than Christianity. You are creating a straw man. God is not a wizard. What Christian theologian has ever claimed that He is a wizard? I say this with love and sincerity, I do not want to make a spectacle of you because that would be uncontructive. This conversation would be useless if we do not utilise so please do so and analyse your beliefs by logic and reasonable inquiry. Mercy to you, James

My wife and I had the honor of meeting Desmond Doss in CT in the mid 1980's. To say he was a humble man was an understatement. His only desire was to give the honor and glory to God. There were several amazing things he did that was overlooked in the movie. One was on the Ridge, he stopped ducking because he knew God was protecting him and he could see the wounded better by standing all the way up. He was a truly brave and wonderful man.

I know exactly what he meant by that. I have prayed for a certain thing & had that thing show up within an hour. And since I basically have no family left alive & not really any friends either plus no other human heard my prayer. Plus, I spent 3 years homeless with my wife while she was in a wheelchair & dying of COPD. While taking care of her was the first time I noticed God's helping hand. She passed away Christmas Eve of 2015 & just writing that still makes tears well up in my eyes. At the time, being homeless & taking care of her was the most difficult thing I ever done. Now, LIVING WITHOUT HER IS THE MOST DIFFICULT THING I EVER DONE.

I pray that God will pour out His Spirit on you, and give you a peace and a comfort that only He can. One of my favorite verses is the closing verse in the book of John. “And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written”. Hello person scrolling these comments, here's a fun addition to that stretcher and crawling bit. So he DID get tagged after he rolled off the stretcher. SO when he was crawling back towards the friendly line, he had a seperated shoulder. Man went to war unarmed, saved hundreds of lives one by one, gets eff'd up in the process, waits 5-ish hours for support (unarmed because pacifist) Gets stuck on a stretcher and still puts other lives before his own. One of the great men of history our boy Doss.
