I’ve taught and practiced the unbendable arm, and this is NOT it! It makes you seem foolish to make fun of what you don’t understand!🙏🏻

The real unbendable arm is just a way to focus so that you retain the gentle curve of the arm at the elbow to make forward rolls work. That looks more like an unswingable arm since the trick is at the shoulder and seems like nonsense. Unbendable arm that I was taught wasn't due to magic or mumbo jumbo, just a way to focus on the right muscles at the right time in the right way.

Yeah, this - and also as a way to frame, and possibly (in some few moves) to transmit energy from your legs and core without losing any on the way. I had never seen the unswingable arm shown here and would suspect that anyone who can make it work is either a genius, insanely strong (and pushing forward), or has a very compliant assistant in the demonstration.

This is not the unbending arm. You splay out your hand to activate the tendons and try to bend at the elbow. It's simple physics combined with tendon strength which is stronger than steel cable. Effectively you're building a steel cable bridge with your arm, your body and your opponents body. Once you understand this principle, you can apply it to the bodies natural reaction to push danger away. Tony Blaur uses this concept in his SPEAR system . He calls it outside 90 due to your arm being slightly bent.

LOL tai chi is good to build up nerve energy over an hour or more and resettle your bones and ligaments and FLOSSING (hehe) ur nerves. Not so sure about combat tho, maybe in crazy armor and learning how to bend people over your knee and throw them off a mountain. Tai Chi neck stretches really helped out the nerves in my neck and head and lower back after I got Bells Palsy attack and partially collapsed disc.

Usually when I've heard people talk about "the unbendable arm" it's in reference to the elbow not the shoulder, and it's used for rolling and pushing techniques. I've never really met any martial artists that use this particular trick. What schools is this typically taught in?

The unbendable arm has to do with the curl of your arm and the direction of your fingers. No idea what nonsense you are talking about

That is ki in action. Thank you for demonstrating the unbendable arm.

It can also be done by changing the angle you are pushing down on the arm.

Or just pushing with less force. That's how the alt medicine movement does it.

Would be an impressive debunking if they understood the difference between pushing and bending. Oh, well, who is dumb here?

Aren't arm bars, kimuras, Americanas all joint locks? And wrist locks? How about heel hooks and leg locks and ankle locks?
